Hey Daniel, thanks for chatting with us! Would you mind starting us off by explaining a bit about your background and how you first got involved with music?

I’ve always been musical as far I can remember. Having an older brother and other people around me that exposed to me to a lot of different types of music, I was extremely fortunate in that way. In high school I started playing guitar and started writing my own songs pretty quickly.

Who would you say your biggest artistic influences are?

U2, Bob Dylan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Chris Stapleton, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, CCR, The Who, John Mayer, The War On Drugs

Beyond having artistic influences, you say that your time on the road shapes a lot of your art. What is it about travelling that makes its way into your music?

Traveling has exposed me to different ways of life and people and that’s given me a lot of inspiration as I’ve formed relationships and had experiences that have naturally found their way into my writing.

What does your creative process look like? Do you write on the road a lot?

Ideas often come when I’m fooling around on the guitar and then I’ll record the idea and then write the song later. Sometimes I’ll do it on the spot but I have hundreds of ideas that I fish through and then maybe I’ll write 2-3 songs in a night. I think it’s important to write consistently in some way or another but with that I’m always rehearsing getting a song to where I want it. I like to get the song flushed out and then come back to it again and critique.

You have a new single called “When The Morning Comes”. Did you have a particular message behind the music in this case?

“When the Morning Comes” is just about being there for someone when they need you. There’s something special about waking up with someone you really care about and that’s where this song came from.

What can we hope to see from you in the near future, Daniel?

I have some great shows coming up. On the 13th I’ll be playing with Dee White and this summer I’ll be playing shows in Nashville and New York. Along with that, I’ll be recording throughout the summer.
