Inspired mainly by artists such as The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Frank Ocean, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and 6LACK, he takes various elements from these artists to elevate his own unique voice and song composition ability.

Welcome to BuzzMusic, HeLix, and congratulations on the release of “Broke.” This masterpiece flows so beautifully through the speakers, that its evolution tells a tale of its own. What does this song mean to you? What moment or story sparked its creation?
Hey BuzzMusic, thank you for having me. I’m glad you guys enjoyed the song as much as I loved creating it. I was in a different headspace when creating this track, I was dealing with someone and things were going great, but slowly things started getting worse and worse. I thought it was because of a lack of communication and effort which led to its end. The song was just a way to get things off my chest and off my mind. It ended up becoming something beautiful.
What was it like working with SIM in order to achieve such a wonderful dynamic? How did you two come to collaborate?
While I was creating the song, I realized that to broaden the audience for this track, I wanted to get a woman’s perspective on the situation. I gave SIM full creative freedom to express herself and write what she felt. I think she did an amazing job on her part, and I enjoyed hearing our voices harmonize together. I discovered SIM through social media, I instantly became a fan of her voice and her music. I believed in her work and what she was doing so I contacted her and wanted to collaborate on the track. She liked the concept and was on board. She has a bright future ahead of her and I’m grateful that I got the chance to work with her.
Were you able to project your vision exactly as you had imagined it? Were there any obstacles that popped up during the release process that shaped this experience?
I was looking for a beat that really captured my mood, and I came across a producer named Matthew May who created this beat. I connected with it strongly and decided to just release what I had built up on to the beautiful production. The biggest obstacle was finding the right person to handle the second verse. I spoke to others about the project and even had different voices on it. But it didn’t hit right. SIM delivered, and I was happy with what she brought to the table.
What are you hoping that your audience takes away from “Broke?"
I wanted to show my audience and people who would find me through this track that I’m human, we all go through things like this, it’s about letting it out and moving forward. You must accept the reality if you put in the effort to work things out but the other person doesn’t care or reciprocate. It wasn’t meant to be, it was broken. Move on.
What's next for you?
I have so much more music on the way, honing my craft, sharpening the blade, and having fun with the whole process. Some come out great, some don’t, but that never stops me. I’m happy doing what I love. I’ve had a great year so far, don’t expect me to disappear. I hope you guys enjoy my future work. Thank you for the support, enjoy the song.
