Hailing from Indiana and the Northside of Chicago, Flamingo Haze has a sound like no other. This holds especially true with the release of their latest single, "All Night Long." Flamingo Haze consists of David Klocek (rhythm guitar and lead vocals), Scout Klocek (bass and backup vocals), Daniel Asher (drums), and Vlad Danilkovich (lead guitar and backup vocals).
The nostalgia sprinkled in the newly launched record places a modern twist on the 80s flair introduced in "All Night Long." The coming of age, indie-alternative feel plays on electro elements that have us falling for the dream-like synths and vibrant textures that gleam from this arrangement.
Indulging us in a universe that raves around the narrative of stepping outside of your comfort zone to experience the fullness of life, David Kloeck wanted that to be present in the glory of "All Night Long." An immense amount of power comes from a track as poignant as such. With full-throttle energy that hurdles through the speakers, Flamingo Haze performs in the type of unity that emits a fortified aura. Behind the velvety vocals that coat your ears with a warm embrace, the lyrical motifs remain positive and uplifting as each note buoyantly matches the energy conveyed.
Flamingo Haze does an exceptional job at taking us by the hand and leading us into a zone of the unknown that doesn't seem scary anymore. Flamingo Haze has us ready to conquer the day with "All Night Long" as they continue to profess heartwarming tenors.
Welcome to BuzzMusic, Flamingo Haze, and congratulations on the release of your latest single, "All Night Long." With the 80s-inspired twist that's put on this modernized original, what inspired the time travel through the eras to bring this vision to life?
Hey, thanks so much! This was a fun one to write! Yeah, good question! I've always been drawn into "coming of age" films growing up, so this was written with "Breakfast Club," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," and others like it in mind!
Could you please shine a light on the creative process when creating "All Night Long"? Is this how the creative juices tend to flow?
"All Night Long" started out as a demo by David Klocek (the lead singer of the band) -as so many of our tunes do- and was written over a couple of sessions with Mitchell Pynakker (songwriter) and finished with Taylor Moenning (Producer). We've worked with Taylor with a lot of our work and find that his production/arrangement ideas help finish these songs really great! Taylor is the producer on record for the rest of the Slow Cinema releases!
Since stepping outside of your comfort zone, what has been the biggest takeaway for Flamingo Haze?
Don't be afraid to try something that sounds/feels completely different! We identify as a band that writes in a free-form sense that doesn't care about the idea of cornering a genre or market. We stay close to our roots for the most part (Alt, Indie, Synth-wave) but aren't afraid to branch out and discover something new.
What's your mission statement as an artist? How does "All Night Long" fit into this scope?
Our mission statement is to provide honest Art that helps people feel what they're thinking and say how they feel.
What's next for you?
We are proud to announce that we have 2 EPs and two singles that we'll be dropping over the course of the Summer/Fall! We will also be releasing our most recent work with Chuck Alkazian, the producer at Pearl Sounds Studios! We will drop three songs with Chuck and are excited for our fans to hear those tracks!
