Welcome to BuzzMusic, Elle E.D. We love the attention-grabbing and engaging nature of your recent single, "Mama Said." So what inspired you to create this feel-good and motivational bop?

My mama is not only literally the portal to my life here on Earth, but she poured so many great things into me and made me the Lil firecracker that I am. As I started to share myself with the world, I had to make sure I took the time to give her and all the mamas out there their flowers. Also, all the mama songs out there are slow. The world was overdue for a bop for all the mamas that are still having a good time!

What was your songwriting process like for "Mama Said?" Was it enjoyable to write such upbeat and inspirational bars and lyrics?

It was a fun process. Devine Evans, The song Producer, encouraged me to write a song about my mama that reflected all of the wild stories I would share with him about her. She was truly one of a kind. I try not to take anything too seriously. My thought process is usually, how can I be truthful, confrontational, and fun at the same time? There's a reality in the lyrics about tough love making strong women. She prepared me for the world so that I could successfully have fun in the world.

How did you come up with the concept for the "Mama Said" music video? Did you have any directors or producers help bring your ideas to life?

My brain is always spinning with colorful concepts. From the second I met (viral sensation) Zoey Zanai, I knew I wanted to base the music video around her because she reminded me so much of me as a child. Hanging out with her felt like I got to hang out with my younger self. So I brought the concept of letting her be the driving energy of the video to my incredibly talented director and close friend, Daniel Sabouné, and he helped me expand on that vision and truly bring it to life.

Who did you create "Mama Said" for? What sort of person do you feel needs to hear "Mama Said" the most?

Mama Said is not only for all the mamas out there (bonus mommy's included). But also for every little kid to repeat those words confidently and remember that they can do and be anything…as long as they work hard for it. So really it's for everybody. It's a mantra for going out there and being your best self always! Cuz mama said!

What's next for you?

More music is on the way! And more live shows! I am working on creating some really unique experiences for my audience to enjoy my music in many different ways. I'm excited for people to grow with me. I'm chiseling my way through a heavily saturated market, but the music really does speak for itself. I'm about my art first. No gimmicks over here…I am sharing an authentic piece of myself with my audience, and it's going to be fun growing together!
