True Country Music. Starting her studies in singing and music of all varieties at an early age, she realized that Country Music was what inspired her most! Guided by her faith, family and community, Eryka Cooper has been able to create amazing and wonderful friendships that have helped shape her new music and musical career. Since the release of her new single, Eryka Cooper has been back in the studio with her talented musical team hard at work creating powerful music. “Till He Comes Back” is a song that describes Eryka Cooper’s military wife experience, admiration and love for those who “adopted” her into their families and gave her love, support and everlasting company through some real hard times. For this reason, “Till He Comes Back” is dedicated to her military “adopted” family, the Thompson’s and the amazing people of Leesville, Louisiana; among others.
This song is definitely a strong military anthem. A tune that makes you proud to be American and a reminder of how lucky we are for our military. Starting out giving us classic country vibes with great strings and powerful vocals. There’s a steady two-step about this song that you can’t help but to line dance to. I love how you can hear the passion, pride and love in her voice for what she is singing about. You cannot deny or miss that fact in this classic country single.

Hi Eryka! Care to introduce yourself?
Hey, I go by Eryka Cooper, I am a Singer & Songwriter born and raised in Miami, Florida. I am a Cuban-American Country Girl, true to my Latin roots with the biggest Country heart. Family is everything to me, I am a Mother to a 3-year-old boy, a Proud Military Wife and a Grateful Daughter.
Can you give us a brief history of your musical career?
I started studying Opera and singing at the age of nine, studied piano at the age of 7 and I am currently teaching myself how to play the guitar. Music is in my blood and runs deep in my heart and soul. I have always loved and listened to Country Music, however I truly fell in love and inspired with Country Music while living in Fort Polk, Louisiana.
Do you write your own music? Can you tell us a bit about your writing style?
Yes & No. Most of my songs are personal to me, the ideas and story behind them, however they truly come to life when I collaborate with Chris Price, an amazing person & musician. He understands the direction I want my music to take, so by working well together magic strikes, stories come to life & an incredible song is created!
Congrats on the release "Till He Comes Back", it's a fantastic song! Can you tell us a bit about it?
“Till He Comes Back” is my personal Military Wife story, the loneliness, struggles, and sadness that I had to endure alone. It talks about the years my husband served and how I was far from home alone with just my dog and flag and when it was once again time to say goodbye, whether it was long training or deployment, the Community Leesville and more specifically my military “adopted” family, The Thompsons embraced, loved, adopted and supported me through some really hard times. The Chorus speaks their words saying “you don’t have to do it by yourself, you always have friends” and how “I don’t have to be alone”. With my own Family & The Thompsons by my side, they made me a stronger woman. I am so proud of this song and it’s in dedication to The Thompsons, Leesville Louisiana, and All Men & Women, and especially their Spouses, who Proudly Serve Our Country!
Where did the inspiration behind the song come from?
The Thompsons where a huge inspiration to this song, they gave me so much love, support, guidance and helped me realize that I am much stronger than I give myself credit for. My husband, who I admire and am very proud of and my dear friends, the spouses of the men and women who serve this country! To them all I am eternally grateful!
Who are your musical influences that have helped shape who you are as a musician? Why?
I have a lot of influential moments that have helped shape my musical career, however my father is probably the biggest influence. He has been playing the drums since he was 14 and is my musical gene. Growing up listening to him play, watching videos and now having the privilege to perform live with him has been a little girls dream come true. My mother is my biggest fan, without her as a manager I’d be lost and completely disorganized. She guides me, keeps me grounded, reminds me to be true to myself, and always has my back! My parents have always motivated me to study music and if it were not for them I wouldn’t have grown with the love to sing and write my own music. I love them both with all my heart and I will forever be grateful for all they do for me.
Another powerful influence in my life was having the honor to work alongside with an amazing man and musician, Richard Warren Rappaport. He was my entertainment attorney, a man who believed in me and my talents and who opened the door to never-ending possibilities to help me reach my full potential and pursue what I love to do most, sing. Thanks to my main influencers and support team I have been able to follow my dreams & meet and work with such amazing musicians.
What’s next for you?
Since the release of my new single “Till He Comes Back”, I have been back in studio finishing two more singles and I’m in the works of creating an album. I am grateful to be working with an amazing musical team at Bullseye Productions with Rudy Perez and Chris Price. I look forward to our studio sessions and creating powerful and inspirational music. I will continue to work hard to follow my dreams and goals in singing and writing Country music and I can only hope that one day my songs are being sang and played all over the world.
