Congratulations on the release of, “I Can Make It Better.” This is one of your first creations written and performed in the English language. Since you’re used to writing in Spanish, what was the experience like?

The truth is, I feel very comfortable writing in English. Even though I was raised in Colombia, I have always listened to music in English and most of my inspirations and idols wrote and sang their music in English. Furthermore, I learned English from a very young age. It’s true, I am used to writing music in Spanish. It is my native tongue so my thought or the voice in my head is always rambling in Spanish. But writing in English has its benefits when it comes to Rock and Pop music. You can get away with a lot more “cheesy” lyrics and still sound edgy. That is very difficult in Spanish, so I’ve been realizing that I can express my emotions with fewer limitations. I’m excited to see where else this new direction and language will take me.

What story sparked the inspirations for the lyrical content and production in, “I Can Make It Better?”

I’ve had a lot of personal growth in the past couple of years and one thing that I have truly learned is that any situation can be better or worse depending on our approach and perspective. This song was born at the beginning of the pandemic, where many people were in a negative downward spiral. I refused to let that be the guide and motivation in my life and I’ve always believed that I can make my life and situations better. So then I started thinking about a typical situation or moment where everything goes south and you feel emotionally wrecked. And what better moment than getting stood up for a date. But suddenly someone or something comes along and tells you the night isn’t over and that you can still turn this around. That someone’s loss is another one’s gain, that you can make it better, that is, if you are up for it.

As one to dabble in numerous elements of the music industry, do you have a favorite avenue that resonates with you the most?

I get that question a lot, but honestly, I love both producing and being an artist. Each one is a different experience but they both complement each other in a beautiful way. As an artist, I get to connect with the audience, share my story, and be on stage performing, which is why I initially got into music. I just wanted to play and tour with my friends. As a producer though, I get to be a part of someone else’s story and help them reach their highest potential and hopefully, their dreams. I get to see an artist grow, shine, and see them reach a passion that we share. And it is an amazing feeling to know that you helped them do so. Lastly, I get to record and produce different styles and artists which keeps my life interesting and exciting! I think I will always be the two sides of the coin.

What themes and messages do you hope that your listeners take away from the music that you create?

I really hope my music inspires people to believe and fight for their dreams. I know what it is like to battle with yourself, your family, and your friends when you want and believe in something so much that it hurts. I want to inspire people to take risks, to take the leap, to love unconditionally, and to live life like it’s your last day on this earth. I know it sounds like a cliché, but it’s the only way to truly live and look back in the end with maybe not zero, but fewer regrets. To not be afraid of failing and falling, because it’s through those moments that we truly find ourselves and what we are made of. And then we can grow into what you are meant to be.

What can we expect to see next from you?

I’m very excited about the video of “I Can Make It Better,” coming out Friday, February 5th. It’s an amazingly fun video and incredibly produced by Black Hound Entertainment in Los Angeles. After that A LOT MORE MUSIC! I am recording a series of singles that will come out in the next few months, followed by a full album! All in this new edgy modern sound. It’s also going to have various fun styles incorporated in the music so stay tuned for this very fun, upbeat album. I will also be preparing a live show to hopefully take around the country or internationally when all this craziness is over and we can once again celebrate life and music!
