Hi Prince Amine! Welcome to BuzzMusic! What do you think sets you apart in the music industry today?
Hi! Thank you for having me! What sets me apart is that I mix and exploit the different types of music I love listening to and tweak it into my own style to make a sound so diverse and unique for itself. My multicultural background is unique too: I was born in Morocco and raised by my African American dad in both Spain and Canada.
What do you hope your listeners take away from your music?
The beautiful mix of cultures and styles put together from all around the world. We are one.
What are your thoughts on the current state of hip-hop?
It is what it is. Every generation has had and will have it’s own flare to it. Ours is pretty interesting but right now what’s poppin’ is the melodic rappin’ that is real heavy and beautiful to listen to.
Let’s talk about your track “R2R”! What inspired this song and what was the writing process like?
Well it’s the first single from my upcoming album “Doubted Child” and it’s basically me expressing myself but through the life and journey of another type of artist who came up from that lifestyle and also me envisioning the part where I get to the point in my career where it’s x amount to perform and how people want and support you now that you’re poppin’.
We love your authentic sound! Do you have any specific musical influences you pull inspiration from?
Thank you! And I have many and very diverse influences: Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Popcaan, Alkaline, Vybz Kartel, Chris Brown, Polo G, Roddy Ricch. The truth. There are many more but these artists right here are truly inspirational with their talent and lyricism.
What’s next for Prince Amine?
The release of my 3rd album, Doubted Child, and the takeoff that has been long awaited. Let the journey begin! More Life!
