J.Cast is a talented rapper and lyricist who began creating music when he was 12 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY, J.Cast’s childhood was filled with traveling due to his dad being in the military. Always struggling to find his place in the world, music was the one true thing J.Cast knew was his passion. Growing up listening to Lil Bow Wow, Temptations, Pusha T, Camron, Lil Wayne, Nate Dogg, Snoop Dogg and many more, J.Cast was able to establish his own genuine sound.
“Suicide” dives in heavy subject matter right out the gate. J. Cast gets vulnerable and honest through his raw lyricism and flow. You can hear the emotion and raw energy in his vocals. I love the R&B, hip-hop back beat, it’s refreshing and alluring but J. Cast’s vocals steal the show. He uses his music and poetry as an outlet for true emotions. It’s incredibly admirable for an artist to be vulnerable and allow their fans to relate and connect with them. We can’t get enough of J. Cast’s versatility and creativity. I highly recommend you check out “Suicide” and stay on the lookout for what’s next for J. Cast.

Hey J.Cast! How did you get started making music? What made you decide to take it more seriously?
I got started making music when I was in middle school. I took music morr seriously after leaving the Marine Corps in 2012. I knew I wanted to do something with my talent and be free.
What emotions did you have to channel when writing “Suicide”?
"Suicide" was written for an ex girlfriend of mines that was heavily into drugs. The thought was if she overdosed and died I would die too.
It seems like this song is very personal to you! Can you talk more about the meaning of the lyrics?
Hypothetically speaking I love my ex so much that the thought of her overdosing and dying killed me as slowly as she was killing herself. Theirs so many people in this world that can possible relate that i felt making this track and expressing my story in a dramatic fashion will bring more awareness to people in either the same or somewhat situation.
How do you draw inspiration from your musical influences?
by listening to artists like Eminem, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, oldies like Freddie Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, Prince, these artists spoke the truth and really brought out their feelings.
What’s next for you and your music career?
currently I'm building the team in Phoenix AZ we are helping local artists to build their platforms as well as known artists who are touring through Phoenix we provide an Airbnb with the studio for them to record we call it home away from home IG @Raphousephx. In the future I'm just hoping to get more shows in bigger venues, throw huge Festival events, promote on the radio, collect revenue off online streams.
