Jack Rush Takes Aim at Modern Society With Bold New Album “Chic Apocalypse”

Swiss-based pop-rock singer-songwriter Jack Rush has released his sophomore album, Chic Apocalypse, a 10-track project that takes a sharp look at consumer culture, social inequality, and the strange reality of living in a world increasingly obsessed with appearances.
Released through Rattler Records, the album follows his debut, Late Bloomer, introducing a more outspoken side of Rush's songwriting while maintaining his signature blend of vintage and contemporary rock influences.
Produced by Neihardt (Davide Joerg), Chic Apocalypse brings together guitar-driven arrangements, polished production, and lyrics that aren't afraid to call out society's contradictions. The title track is particularly compelling, using dark humor and biting satire to examine a culture that continues celebrating luxury and excess while everything around it seemingly falls apart.
There's something refreshingly unapologetic about Rush's approach. Rather than dressing up his observations in vague metaphors, he confronts uncomfortable realities with clever songwriting and infectious pop-rock energy.
Across tracks including “Rrose Sélavy,” “You're Finding You,” “The Queen of Allure,” “Bleed Me Blue,” and “Crumbling Inside,” Rush expands the album's emotional landscape, exploring themes of identity, vulnerability, love, and resilience.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Pixies, Weezer, and Mac DeMarco, Rush demonstrates that socially conscious songwriting doesn't have to sacrifice melody or personality. Ultimately, Chic Apocalypse feels like an artist becoming increasingly comfortable saying exactly what he thinks. It's witty, provocative, and occasionally unsettling, but that's precisely what makes the project worth paying attention to.
Chic Apocalypse is available now on major streaming platforms.
