Jackson Wagner is a talented musician and songwriter from Long Beach, California. Currently working on his debut album “Take the World”, set to be released late September, Jackson releases his debut single, “Falling” and we’re hooked. Deeply blues-inspired, the sultry track, “Falling” showcases Wagner’s undeniable skills as a guitarist. The lyricism is passionate and raw, Jackson puts his soul on display and sheds lights on his talent as a singer/songwriter. He pours his heart into this debut single “Falling” through the lyrics and overall confident delivery. “Falling” is a quirky, sultry and overall easy listening anthem. It’s a song made for sunsets and long drives with the one you love. This song resonates with me because of the emotional delivery of every word, it’s harmonically rich and authentically human. Jackson Wagner’s vocals come flowing through the speakers. His sound is finely-calibrated beyond his years and boasts elements of classic roots and blues with a contemporary rock flare. We love what he brings to the table and we can’t wait to see what he delivers next!

Welcome to BuzzMusic Jackson! We love your sound. Can you tell us more about your upbringing into music? How did you get started?
For as long as I can remember, I have gravitated towards artists like Jerry Garcia and Bob Dylan for their unique and honest musical styles. After years of bouncing between instruments I realized I had a passion for guitar and songwriting.
How do you feed your passion for music everyday?
I try to make a habit of learning a new blues lick on the guitar every day. In addition, I enjoy discovering new artists and try to attend live shows whenever I can.
Your song “Falling” is amazing! We love the lyrics and melody. What inspired this song?
“Falling” was inspired by the idea of trying to see the bright side of things even when they are at their lowest. At the time, I had been listening to a lot of Howlin’ Wolf and Eric Clapton, so naturally the track’s blues influences are apparent.
What’s your favorite part of the song, lyrically or sonically?
My favorite part of the song is the transition from the first guitar solo, into the third verse. The call and response between my vocals and the riffs from my guitarist Alex Kaje, offer a dynamic contrast and highlight our different musical styles.
Do you have an official release date for you debut album? What can listeners expect from “Take the World”?
‘Take the World is scheduled to be released on September 20th, and the second single ‘One More Night’ it is being released on August 16th. ‘Take the World’ is a dynamic project that uses elements of blues, folk, and psychedelic rock to tell a story about accepting and embracing change.
