Jaiden Deshuan Reclaims His Confidence on 'FIRST BORN'

Tulsa-born rapper and creative entrepreneur Jaiden Deshuan introduces a new chapter with FIRST BORN, a seven-track EP. Formerly known as KidGoten, the 23-year-old artist steps into his own name with a project built around confidence, independence, attraction, ambition, and having fun again.

Rather than making his return about the difficulties he experienced in 2025, Jaiden deliberately takes FIRST BORN in the opposite direction. The record captures the energy he wanted for 2026: louder, more self-assured, and less interested in allowing the past to dictate what comes next.

“First Born - intro” establishes that reset before “Act Stupid” becomes one of the clearest representations of the project’s carefree attitude. It’s a record rooted in letting loose, talking his talk, and rediscovering the side of himself that simply wants to enjoy life.

That confidence carries into “Pimped Out,” while collaborations with Luv Lotus on “Fineshit” and GTG Big $mash on “Bad Bitch Roll Call” add to the project’s social, personality-driven energy. But FIRST BORN isn’t entirely about flexing. “214507 / I Heard - interlude” creates space for a more introspective side of Jaiden before “Have Fun” brings the project back to its central message.

What makes FIRST BORN compelling is that Jaiden doesn’t pretend harder experiences never happened. Instead, he makes the conscious decision not to give them control over this particular chapter.

That mentality extends beyond music. Through TFWW Creative, Jaiden works in artist development, branding, content, marketing, and release strategy, giving his return an entrepreneurial dimension as he simultaneously builds his own career and creates opportunities for other independent artists.

FIRST BORN ultimately sounds like an introduction rather than a reinvention. Jaiden Deshuan is moving forward under his own name, reclaiming his personality and giving himself permission to have fun while doing it.

You’ve described 'FIRST BORN' as getting your confidence back rather than documenting everything you went through in 2025. When did you realize you didn’t owe listeners access to your pain in order to make an honest project?

I think I realized that while I was actually making the EP. At first, I thought I needed to talk about everything I went through in 2025 because that’s what people might expect from me. But when I started putting those ideas together, it didn’t feel completely authentic because I wasn’t ready to unpack all of that publicly.

I realized being honest doesn’t mean I have to give people access to every painful part of my life. I can be honest about where I am now. FIRST BORN is honest because it represents how I actually feel in 2026. I’m getting my confidence back, I’m having fun again, I’m building my career, taking care of my family, and enjoying life. That’s just as real as anything I went through before.

"Act Stupid" represents the carefree energy you wanted to reclaim. What did making that song unlock in you that had been missing creatively or personally?

“Act Stupid” really represents the confidence behind FIRST BORN and honestly, it’s me living up to the name of the EP. I’m not the one to play with. I think people forget that I started rapping when I was 13, so this isn’t something I just picked up yesterday. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I wanted that confidence to come through.

At the same time, I don’t want everything to feel so serious. After everything 2025 brought, I wanted 2026 to be about getting that confidence back, enjoying myself and having fun with what I’m doing again. “Act Stupid” unlocked that side of me where I can remind people that I know how to rap, I know who I am, and I’m still going to have fun while doing it.

This is your debut project under Jaiden Deshuan after previously releasing music as KidGoten. What parts of that former artist are you bringing forward, and what are you intentionally leaving behind?

I’m bringing the hunger forward. KidGoten taught me how to create, how to perform, how to deal with the music industry at a young age, and how to believe in myself before I really had anything to prove it with. That part of me is still here.

What I’m leaving behind is the feeling that I have to fit into the identity I had back then. I’m older now, I’ve experienced more, and I understand myself differently. Jaiden Deshuan isn’t me trying to erase KidGoten. It’s me taking everything I learned from that chapter and building something that actually represents who I am now.

There’s a contrast between the confidence of tracks like “Pimped Out” and “Bad Bitch Roll Call,” and the more reflective “214507 / I Heard.” Why was it important to let both sides of you exist on FIRST BORN?

Because I’m both of those people. I don’t think confidence means you have to pretend you don’t have a deeper side.

“Pimped Out” and “Bad Bitch Roll Call” show the side of me that’s cocky, playful, and unapologetic. Then “214507 / I Heard” gives you a different glimpse of what’s going on underneath everything. I wanted FIRST BORN to feel like a real snapshot of me instead of forcing myself into one personality for seven tracks.

I can talk my shit, flex, have fun, and still have moments where I’m reflective. Those things don’t contradict each other. That’s just me.

You’re simultaneously developing your own career and helping other independent artists through TFWW Creative. Has working behind the scenes in branding, strategy, and artist development changed the way you approach Jaiden Deshuan as an artist?

Working through TFWW Creative definitely changed how I look at myself as an artist. When you’re helping other artists with branding, strategy, content, releases, and development, you start seeing things from a bigger perspective. I’m not just asking, “Is this song good?” I’m thinking about the identity behind it, the rollout, the visuals, the audience, the timing, and what the bigger picture looks like.

I’ve also learned that I have to apply the same strategy to myself that I give to other people. Jaiden Deshuan is an artist, but I’m also building a business and a brand around the music. That’s why FIRST BORN isn’t just a collection of songs to me. It’s the introduction to a new era and a bigger vision I’m building through TFWW Creative.
