K.I.N.G. the MC Showcases His Fresh Hard-Hitting Song "Napoleon Hill"

K.I.N.G. the MC is an American Rapper, songwriter, lyricist, and spoken word artist whose music is influenced by the hardships and life experiences he's had. His ultimate goal in music is to touch the hearts of those that listen to his music.

K.I.N.G. the MC's latest release "Napoleon Hill" is an elegant, yet hard-hitting hit. "Napoleon Hill" features a characterful drum groove, incredibly moody and atmospheric synth textures, and a jaw-dropping lyrically intense rap performance from K.I.N.G. the MC that leaves you wanting more. "Napoleon Hill" easily demonstrates K.I.N.G. the MC's capabilities of creating an elegant but intense flow of lyrics. He keeps intense energy throughout the song, which is wonderfully supported by the rock steady drum grooves. The mood has an overall more flavourful dark ambiance to it but with the help of the drums and the tight rap performance it maintains high energy, there's a perfect balance between the two moods. It's as if "Napoleon Hill" provides the listener with a color pallet and a blank canvas and leaves it up to the listener to paint the picture. This is a fantastic release and we can't wait to get more from K.I.N.G. the MC.

How did you come to this performance? Were the lyrics laid out and that is just what felt best? Were there other versions of this tune? I was in the process of creating my 2nd project, The Good. The Bad. The Ugly II, and I wanted to incorporate the ideas of an author who had inspired me tremendously earlier in life. It was Napoleon Hill’s book “Think and Grow Rich” that really shaped the way I approach going after my dreams. My writing process consists of lots of prayer and meditation. The lyrics I wrote were what I felt on my spirit at the time. This is the only version of this particular song. We are loving the overall art direction of "Napoleon Hill"! What was the songwriting and production process like for it? How did you come to the instrumental sounds that were used? Thank you so much for that! I really pour my heart and soul into my music. As I mentioned earlier my whole creative process is very spiritual. I pray and meditate for hours and hours on end, while simultaneously writing until the song is finished. I was very fortunate to have the legendary producer Black Metaphor compose this beat. In case your not familiar with him, Black Metaphor has produced for heavy hitters in the industry such as Rick Ross, The Game, Young Jeezy, and Cyhi The Prynce just to name of few. The track was recorded with and also mixed and mastered by an engineer and close friend of mine by the name of Charles “Platnum” Howard.  You have a very unique sound to your voice and the tone of your record. What had inspired this? Do you have any influences or idols that you look up to? I love performing spoken word and I intentionally try to incorporate a very similar passionate poetic delivery in my music. I draw inspiration from storytelling, substance filled music. Some of my biggest influences are Nas, KRS-ONE, Common, Tupac, Lecrae, and Tobe Nwigwe. I have also been greatly inspired by the motivational speaker's Eric “E.T. the Hip-hop Preacher” Thomas and Les Brown.  How do you think you have grown as an artist from when you first started this release? Do you have any new goals for yourself that you aim to achieve? I never stop growing as an artist. Since this release I’ve grown less wary about financial limitations and have instead focused on utilizing what I have, using my current resources to manifest that which I lack. My goal is to organically grow a global audience by consistently putting out quality music and visuals reflective of where I come from and the genuine love I have for all people.

What can we expect from you throughout 2020?

You can expect more visuals from my 2nd project, TGTBTU 2, as well as new music later this year.
