KAGE E Gives Us “Did It Again”

At the innocent age of 12 years old, KAGE E got FL studios and began creating quality soundtrack soundscapes. He ended up excelling in his production abilities rapidly and just a year later, he began to sing, rhyme, and write his first trap song. “Did It Again” is the first release from his most recent mixtape and he plans to release the next four songs with coinciding visuals. “Did It Again” has this mystic vibe to the production of the beat which was highly intriguing to hear. When KAGE E's vocals transpired, he adds a detailed auto-tune that not only matches the pitch of the beat but correctly creates a stylistic makeup to the smooth-sailing and warm vocal tone. “Did It Again” could have many lyrical interpretations but what I took from listening to this was the song talks about constant disappointment from someone who doesn’t know how to stick to a consistent word. “You said you wouldn’t do it but you did it again, did it again” it’s an underlying break up song in my opinion. However, the verses have so many witty punchlines and wavy lyrics, you tend to distract yourself from the love bop. Pretty much the foundation for the record! “Did It Again” is a great song in which we can add to our playlists due to how KAGE E could effortlessly ride the beat and create a nice vibe, anticipating us for his next release.  He’s already landed some exciting features from “Did It Again” and we’re almost positive his mixtape will be a hit!

Could you describe your sound for us Kage E?

It’s hard to limit my sound to a certain genre but if I did. It would be a combination between Trap Music and Pop Music. That’s the best way to explain it.

When writing your first songs, did you find it to be a challenging task or something that was more natural to you?

I didn’t find it challenging to write my first songs at all. I make the beat and then let it guide me to the feeling or thing that I think about while listening to it. Then I just write what comes up in my head.

Could you go in-depth about the meaning behind “Did It Again”?

“Did It Again” is about one person or a group of people necessarily. Sometimes people let you down. They say they’re going to do something and never follow through. Talk is cheap.

What can we anticipate from this upcoming mixtape?

I’m gonna drop a couple bangers! Some summery songs as well. The winter in Toronto is long so it is inspiring for writing summery songs. Summer gets some more hype because its so short here.

What can we expect to see from you through 2019?

It’s hard to say. I don’t want to put out my very best songs. I still need to gain more of a fan base for a bigger release. It’s a catch 22. I’m putting out some bangers but holding back my best.
