Vancouver-hailing country artist and singer-songwriter Karen Lee Batten returns with an exhilarating new single and accompanying music video entitled "The Trouble with Friends."

Batten is no stranger to industry success. After the former Canadian Idol finalist released her two singles, "Too Strong" and "Drinkin' Song," in 2020 and 2021, she landed several awards from the Jim Beam Indies 2022 Country Artist of the Year at Canadian Music Week to being an 8-time BC Country Music Association Award Winner for Female Artist of the Year.

With two singles, 1M streams on Spotify, and over 400k YouTube views, Karen Lee Batten continues to succeed with her latest single, "The Trouble with Friends." The frequent national anthem singer for the Vancouver Canucks co-wrote this song with Jeff Johnson, and it's also the title track from her fourth album, dropping in 2024.

Diving into "The Trouble with Friends," this upbeat country banger is bound to bring out the best in your night. As Karen Lee paints pictures of friends gathering, partying, and soaking up the good vibes, she reminds us of the bigger picture: To cherish our friendships and enjoy life's little moments, from Sam's once-in-a-blue-moon dances to Betty's post-breakup baggage.

The song's music video, directed by Meaghan Gipps, features Batten and her friends getting down at the local bar, tearing up the town, and enjoying each other's company.

It's the perfect visual for Karen Lee's uplifting lyrics about the good ol' boys and girls getting together without a care, except for ensuring their friends don't leave too early.
