Hip-hop has always celebrated confidence, but the best records understand that swagger is more than flashy bars and expensive taste. It is about conviction. On "LOOK KILLA." Ki Kaar taps into that mindset, delivering a slick, high-energy anthem that pairs luxury aesthetics with an undeniable sense of self-belief.

The rising artist, born Mikey Kaarsberg, continues proving he's comfortable blurring the lines between hip-hop and R&B, creating a sound that feels polished without sacrificing personality. From the opening moments, "LOOK KILLA." rides on infectious melodies, confident flows, and glossy production that feels built for late-night drives with the speakers turned all the way up.

Rather than following a traditional narrative, Ki Kaar pieces together snapshots of an aspirational lifestyle. Designer labels, exotic cars, romance, and ambition all make appearances, but they are never the entire point. The track uses these symbols to reinforce something deeper. Confidence is not about what you own. It is about how you carry yourself. Every lyric reinforces an artist who is comfortable stepping into his own identity while inviting listeners to do the same.

One of the more interesting layers behind the single comes from its unexpected inspiration. Drawing influence from Shallow Hal, Ki Kaar reimagines the film's themes of perception and attraction through a modern hip-hop lens. The result is a concept that gives the record more depth than its luxurious surface initially suggests, reminding listeners that image, identity, and confidence often intersect.

"LOOK KILLA." also signals the creative direction Ki Kaar is pursuing moving forward. Rather than chasing trends, he is focused on building immersive worlds around his music, balancing replay-worthy hooks with thoughtful concepts and memorable visuals.

With its infectious energy, polished production, and effortless charisma, "LOOK KILLA." is more than a confidence anthem. It is a statement of intent from an artist determined to make every release feel like its own experience. If this single is any indication, Ki Kaar is just getting started.

LOOK KILLA. takes inspiration from Shallow Hal, a film most people wouldn't associate with hip-hop. What drew you to that concept, and how did you reinterpret it for this record?

What always stood out to me about Shallow Hal wasn't just the comedy—it was the message about perception. The movie asks whether you're seeing someone for who they really are or just what you want to see. I took that idea and flipped it into my own world. On "LOOK KILLA." it's less about judging someone else's appearance and more about being completely captivated by someone's confidence, energy, and presence. It's a song about attraction that goes beyond surface level while still being fun, smooth, and confident. I like pulling inspiration from unexpected places because it gives hip-hop and R&B a different perspective.

Confidence is at the heart of the song. How has your own relationship with confidence evolved since you first started making music?

When I first started, I had to convince myself I had confidence. I was focused on proving I belonged. Over time, I've realized that real confidence comes from trusting your own vision rather than chasing validation. Now I'm a lot more comfortable experimenting, taking risks, and making the music I genuinely want to make. "LOOK KILLA." reflects that mindset; it's confident without trying too hard.

Your music blends hip-hop and R&B while drawing on other genres. How do you decide what influences belong on a particular track?

I don't really force influences onto a song. I usually start with the feeling I want people to have, and then the production, melodies, and writing naturally follow. Sometimes a track needs the energy of hip-hop, sometimes it needs the emotion of R&B, and other times I'll borrow from pop, funk, or even cinematic music if it helps tell the story. As long as everything serves the song, I'm open to pulling inspiration from anywhere.

You mentioned wanting each release to feel like its own world. What does the visual and creative universe of LOOK KILLA. look like beyond the music?

For me, "LOOK KILLA." lives in a stylish, cinematic world where confidence is the main character. The visuals mix luxury, mystery, and charisma with a modern edge. I wanted everything! From the artwork to the videos and creative direction. I needed it to feel bold and memorable, almost like stepping into a movie. Even though the song is inspired by Shallow Hal, I wanted to create something that feels completely original and uniquely mine.

If someone hears Ki Kaar for the first time through this single, what do you hope they understand about you as an artist?

I hope they realize I'm an artist who isn't afraid to think differently. I want people to hear that I care about making records that feel good but also have a concept behind them. Whether it's the writing or the visuals, I want every release to have intention. If "LOOK KILLA." is someone's introduction to me, I hope they leave curious about what world I'm going to build next!
