King Joel and Davido formulate the next profound afrobeat hit as they show off their vibes and dance-feel record "My Love."
International act reigning from Lagos, Nigeria, King Joel, the music mogul and highly-loved recording artist, turned his pain into champagne through his music. King Joel is not only a recording artist, but he owns his record label, founded in 2014, and that's not all; he's invested thousands of rands into building up communities in Africa and beyond. His vision is also to bring outstanding artists together to create unique and impactful material for the world to hear and intake.
King Joel breaks the barriers with his music video with endless elegant flows and dance rhythm as it features the legendary Nigerian artist, Davido. The vibes breathe through our speakers and initiate 'hands in the air' mode.
Entering "My Love," King Joel enters the door, and the atmosphere changes as the beat increases in sound, and the beautiful woman flashes across the screen as they introduce Davido. The vocals flow perfectly through the speakers, and the vibes are impeccable. Next, King Joel talks about someone close to him and how his experiences were with them as he and Davido vibe in a perfect-flowing location; we can feel how the two of them blend so well together as Davido sings, "My love is your love," a line never to forget as it's relatable and flavorful.
As we continue, King Joel tells us how he'd win his partner over as he sings with passion. Immediately Davido enters as he gives us a flavourful, heated moment just before King Joel tells us how he will never trade what he has as it flashes back to the beautiful queen we so boldly love to see. The endless shots of untouched and highly credible people show us that bringing together the right amount of people will excrete a hit record ready for the world to hear and love.
Let's vibe to King Joel's latest hit single, "My Love," along with the music video featuring Davido, available on all digital streaming platforms.
Welcome to BuzzMusic, King Joel. We admire the refreshing and playful attitude you've brought with your recent single "My Love" what inspired this breezy song and the visuals for the music video?
Just talking about a girl that I was missing, and I was trying to rekindle that old flame (laugh). That was the inspiration - I will always have a love for her - that flame will always be there for her - anytime she wants it (laughs again).
What was the most rewarding part of creating "My Love," and what did you appreciate most about the experience?
The most rewarding part was the fact that the dope song came out of a slightly painful situation. It doesn't matter what I'm talking about, but I was able to create something that's going to be a part of my musical legacy. I appreciate the opportunity to work with Davido and his appreciation of the song as well.
Who helped create this starry music video for "My Love," and how long was it in the making?
The video was directed by Dammy Twitch - I gave him a general idea, something retro and talking about the past, and he came up with shooting parts in black and white and some in color. We see the woman there - but I'm still alone. He was able to show and project what I wanted the future to appear to be.
How did you manage to find all your collaborators for the song and music video? Please elaborate on the experience and how it was working with all of the people you did.
Spellz, the producer, was instrumental in getting Davido the record and getting him on the song. He was also instrumental in reaching out to Dammy Twitch as well.
What's next for you?
I'm putting out my first all-Afro-Beat EP. It's my first body of work since 2015. This project will showcase how passionate I am about bringing together my roots with my present. Great - strong song!
