We fell in love with “Summer Party (Errol Bangz Remix)” upon first listen! How did this collaboration between yourself and Malik come to be? What was it like working with one another?
Malik and I have actually been working together since 2019, I had been producing most of his Hip Hop & RnB stuff so he thought that it would be a great idea for me to produce a remix with my sauce on it which I strongly agreed with. When we worked together on this record it was pretty much smooth sailing, we have good chemistry and see eye to eye creatively.
You’ve been known to have an ‘in the moment’ type of creative process, which we admire! Could you please take us into what the creative process looked like when bringing this particular song to life?
So we pretty much bounced ideas back and forth and ended up combining them. We wanted this record to be as interesting as possible implementing multiple drops and switch-ups, when we listened to the final mix we were like "yo this is crazy it's like three more genres in this one record". It was a vibe for sure!
Who are some of your musical influences that shape the hard-hitting ambiance that you have today? If you could collaborate with one of them who would it be and why?
Man, that's a tough one because I have quite a few haha, but I'll definitely say a lot of the originators of House & Techno such as DJ Pierre, Kevin Saunderson, and Green Velvet. My other influences would be Timbaland, Pharrell, Kanye West & Daft Punk! Hmm if I could collaborate with one of them it would most likely be Kanye because of how far left he's willing to go creatively, I mean the man is a genius no cap.
How have you found yourself growing as an artist and individual from the first track you released, to the present release of “Summer Party (Errol Bangz Remix)?"
I've found myself growing as an artist in so many ways since my first release, I've developed a heightened sense of carelessness when it comes to creating. Today I push boundaries and don't listen to the naysayers, rules were made to be broken so why not push your creativity to the limits. As an individual, my growth has been impeccable since my first release. I'm definitely more patient, confident, wiser, and know what my purpose is on this journey.
