Let Yungchriisbeats Take You on a Tropical Journey with “Pina Colada”

Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, California, Yungchriisbeats has always had artistry in his heart. With a deep love for music and design, the budding producer has been creating his own songs since the age of seventeen. After attending Los Angeles Recording School and even starting his own company, Musiciis_Clothing & Musiciis_Ent., he is well on his way to a career in the music production industry. Released in March of 2020, “Pina Colada” is a song from Yungchriisbeats’ first full music project “D.R.E.A.M.S.” that is now available on Spotify and Apple Music.

Sticking to the fantasy inspiring theme of the album, Yungchriisbeats makes the s track “Pina Colada” feel like a graphic daydream itself. He artistically sets the scene with a personal voice recording that highlights his ideal visions of his future: being waited on hand and foot as he sits with his wife and kids somewhere in the Caribbean.

Almost as if you can hear the seagulls in the distance and the glistening swells of waves crashing ashore, the tropical trap soundscape of “Pina Colada” commences. Layered within a slow-paced trap-style beat, Yungchriisbeats showcases his unique artistic tastes with playful sounds and flirtatious vibrations. The whistling melody of “Pina Colada” is as catchy and uplifting as a tender breeze on a summer night. On occasion, the melody ceases, which gives the beat a chance to take the stage and trigger an unexpected – yet irresistible – salsa within the listener.

Yungchriisbeats’ audience has no choice but to dive in headfirst to the radiant electronic experience that is “Pina Colada”

In addition to your career as an artist, you have created your own company Musiciis_Clothing & Musiciis_Ent. Can you tell us about this experience, and how it contributes to your life as an artist? Absolutely, I began producing at 17 years old. During the whole time, people knew me but didn't know what I was about, that's when I started to brand myself. I started Musiciis_Clothing & Musiciis_Ent. in March of 2020. The search and creation for custom logos for my music label and my clothing brand lasted from June 2019 to March 2020, as I wanted to work with the right people for my logos and business vendors. In March 2020 I released my first full music project, D.R.E.A.M.S under Musiciis_Ent on Apple Music and Spotify. It was stressful at times because everything I do is 100 percent independent.

What was your inspiration behind “Pina Colada?” Can you tell us a bit about your creative process for “Pina Colada?”

That's actually an interesting story. Prior to my D.R.E.A.M.S project I had a completely different album, I made with local artists, but it just wasn't coming out how I wanted it too.  While going through old files I found an interview I did when I was 17 years old, and in that interview, I was asked "how would I reward myself when I make it big?" and as you can hear in the song I said by taking my future wife and kids to the Caribbean so I and my future wifey can drink Pina Coladas. So Pina Colada is basically the "Score" for what I think that moment would sound like. Corny right? lol, but I was just 17. Can you tell us how “Pina Colada” compares to the rest of the songs on your brand new album “D.R.E.A.M.S.?” Pina Colada stands out to me simply because of the vibe, the feel, it makes people want to dance and at the same time feel good.  Why do you choose to produce completely instrumental songs such as “Pina Colada?”

Simple, I can't rap lol, No but really I've always loved being the person behind the music. If I can keep you "interested" with no lyrics - I have done my job. I love to see people's reactions and make them feel away with just music.

What has been keeping you inspired in 2020? What can we expect to see next from you?

God & my family, I use that as inspiration and motivation.2020 has been a rough year for everyone with this pandemic, even on a personal level with so much loss. Expect my clothing brand to expand to even my own shop, in terms of music, expect more instrumental albums, producing movie soundtracks to composing scores for movies, shows, and commercials, as well as Producing my own artists.  I've even tapped into acting and have already filmed for some major studio shows, I'm excited for people to see that. 2021 is going to be a great year!
