Nathan Zarowny is a young up and coming artist hailing from Alberta, Canada. Growing up with a wide variety of influences, Nathan says there were constantly different genres playing throughout his home. Nathan Zarowny has been swiftly earning himself a large fanbase through releasing covers on social media. Now he’s released an enchanting pop ballad titled “Mariners Apartment Complex”. Personally, I think Nathan’s voice is similar to that of Shawn Mendes, not just because they are both gifted Canadian artists but for the pure, intentional passion behind every word.
Beginning with a gorgeously stripped acoustic aura and Nathan’s stunning vocals, “Mariners Apartment Complex” doesn’t take long to evolve into a bone-chilling, heartfelt track. You can hear that Natan has poured his heart and soul into this release. The overall sentiments and powerful lyricism envelope the listener at every step of the way. Although the track is more somber, it’s captivating, alluring, and beautifully done. I’d love to hear “Mariners Apartment Complex” in an intimate live setting to truly showcase Nathan Zarowny’s charisma and sheer vocal power. Well worth a listen! Hey Nathan Zarowny! Do you believe that the way you intend to communicate your messages through your music is easily received by your listeners?
Hey I feel like posting covers on social media for the last two years the response has been really positive, and I appreciate everyone that's shown their support. When the time comes to release original music and even with this studio cover. I hope people will able to connect and feel the message I'm trying to send.
“Mariners Apartment Complex" was an incredibly versatile and beautiful track. Where did you draw the inspiration to create this particular type of sound?
Thank you! When I first heard this Lana Del Ray song I was so drawn towards the melody and emotion it brought. This song is originally played on the piano, but when bringing it to the studio I thought it would be a cool idea to do have it changed up to an electric guitar. I wanted to try and put my own twist on this song while still keeping the originality of it.
How would you say that “Mariners Apartment Complex” compares to the kind of music you curated when you first started out as an artist?
This is actually the very first thing I’ve ever recorded, but since this cover, I feel like I have evolved and grown so much and I'm excited o show that with future releases!
Do you prefer the more intimate recording process over live performance? How do you personally feel when you're performing your music live?
One of my favorite things is going into a studio and really trying to pour emotion into everything I sing, and to be honest I actually don't have a lot of experience performing live but that's something I'm really going to be striving for in the new year.
It was awesome to be able to present “Mariners Apartment Complex” here on BuzzMusic! What do you think is next for you as an artist? Where do you hope to progress within the next couple of years?
Thank you again I greatly appreciate it. After this, the next thing is definitely original music and I can’t wait for everyone to hear! No dates yet but early 2020. In the next couple of years, the dream would be to progress into playing live shows as often as I can, maybe go on tour, and the hopes that everyone will be able to connect with the music I put out into the world.
