Max Edwards Escapes Turbulent Love In, “For Another”

From the mountainous town of Whistler, British Columbia, singer-songwriter, pop/r&b recording artist, and producer Max Edwards questions a rocky relationship in his sweet new single, "For Another."

Although Max Edwards spent his youth skiing, biking, and skateboarding, music creation and performance were also close to his heart. After attending Nimbus School of Recording and Media in Vancouver, his artistic skillet and knowledge progressed tenfold.

He's firmly dedicated to inspiring listeners the same way his favorite artists have inspired him. Max Edwards doesn't shy away from that theme in his latest single, "For Another," a song that discusses the near end of a rocky relationship, packed with relatable lyrics about this uncomfortable yet prevalent situation. All while that's happening, his groovy pop sonics bless our speakers with infectious melodies that offer a lush blanket of comfort.

Jumping further into the new single, "For Another," the tune kicks off with plucky keyboard melodies that evoke a lush island vibe alongside Max Edwards's breathy and tender vocals. He jumps into his verse with vast emotion and heart, reminding his significant other that some people are better left apart.

It's interesting how Max Edwards sings such emotional lyrics. Yet, his production keeps the groove high and mighty with the catchiest melodies, punchy drums, and fluttery keyboards that lift us toward the outro. He heads to the song's end while reminding listeners that we don't always have to fight for love, especially when the road gets too foggy to navigate.

Feeling down and out? Allow Max Edwards to pick you up with a relatable anthem for lost in his recent single, "For Another," now available on all digital streaming platforms.

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Max Edwards. We're truly impressed with the honest and mature concept within your recent single, "For Another." What experiences or realizations led you to write this introspective song?

Hello, and thank you for having me!! If I'm being fully honest, “For Another” was written on a random rainy evening in my room last fall, and I can't really remember what experiences or realizations led to the song, haha. I remember really liking that style of music, and I wanted to recreate the sad but upbeat vibe. I actually found the song after a while and fell in love with it again. I changed a few lyrics and melodies, and then I ended up heading to LA to record, and that's where the song came to life!

What was your songwriting process like for "For Another?" Did you face any personal or emotional obstacles throughout the experience?

I have a very similar songwriting process for most of my songs. I usually just record random melodies and freestyle over the beat, and I get different ideas and vibes throughout that process. Sometimes I'll be in a bad mood but will end up writing a happy song, and sometimes I'm happy and will write a sad song. It really just depends on the melody and vibe I'm getting from it.

What was the most rewarding part about creating "For Another?" What did you enjoy the most?

As I mentioned before, I flew to LA to record this song along with 3 others. The trip was crazy! I had never properly been to LA and had never made music there before, so it was a sweet experience for me. I finally got to meet a bunch of people in person and got to experience the lifestyle a bit. Plus, I also got to be a tourist, which was obviously a good time, haha. I think the most rewarding part was hearing the final version after. I just wanted to listen to it over and over again. I was crazy stoked with how it turned out!

What do you hope your audience feels and takes away from "For Another?" What impact do you want the single to have on listeners?

I just really hope people love the song as much as I do. Releasing music is always a little bit scary, so when you get positive feedback from people, it's really rewarding. I also hope people can scream along to the lyrics and have a good time listening to it! Not all my songs are upbeat and happy, but I always want people to be able to vibe to them and feel something special!

What's next for you?

I have my debut EP coming out in the fall that I am crazily excited to share with everybody. I have the songs finished, and I am making videos along with them that I hope people will love. I am hoping to get back on stage soon and start performing more, so if you're in the Vancouver area, keep an eye out! In the meantime, I'm just going to keep creating music and content. Thank you for having me! I hope you all love “For Another."
