Musical "Therapy," Comes Naturally to noelle

Raised on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in Ontario, noelle’s upbringing exposed her to a vast range of musical genres, from Nat King Cole and Sarah Vaughan to the powwow drum and native wind flute of her Indigenous roots. Following a year of uncertainty, the burgeoning, pop songstress is ready to share her music and songwriting with the world.

Simmering in a pool of impactful moments, noelle’s debut release, “Therapy,” marks the first single from her forthcoming album. Taking listeners on a journey of being there for someone you love through the toughest of times, we get a taste of her genuine nature all while taking in the extent of her artistry. Written by noelle and David Charles Fischer over Zoom with esteemed UK producer Phil Cook, this trio manages to take what we love about R&B and transition it into a dreamy bedroom pop soundscape.

Dousing us in the atmospheric swing of harmonic elements, we get to experience the likes of “Therapy,” while greeting the delicately pronounced ease of noelle’s inimitable timbres. Imperceptibly gracing the speakers with her intimate nature, the emotion that makes itself known in “Therapy,” truly pulls you into the depth of her techniques.

Drawing you towards the vibrant textures that illuminate otherwise dark hues, you hear the passion that is sprinkled into every word she performs. With the elusively flowing conjunction of her angelic croons and the laxer musical foundation that raises thoughts, there’s a maturity that is well-pronounced in how noelle carries herself. Igniting a flame that is rich in personal experience, noelle hopes to instill a sense of hope in those struggling through hard times of their own.

Welcome to BuzzMusic noelle, and congratulations on the release of your debut single, “Therapy.” With the name and concept of this song going deep into the vulnerable sector of yourself, what inspired you to let this be the leading track from your album?

I wanted “Therapy” to be the leading track because of how raw it is. This song is so authentic to the music that I truly love creating and performing. It shows people what they can expect in my upcoming releases.

What are you hoping that your music says about you as an artist and individual?

I hope that my music shows my love for vintage artists. I love the old jazz sound and I really hope it comes through in my music with a modern twist.

How has the experience of sharing “Therapy” with the public been for you?

Sharing “Therapy” with the public has been amazing. It’s a very personal song for me, so having it out in the world is kind of like having a weight lifted off my shoulders. The feedback has been amazing and I can’t wait to release more of my songs!

What can you tell us about this highly anticipated project that we can expect to hear from you shortly? What does your audience have in store?

I've been working on this project for years. I loved the creative process so much. I really hope everyone loves them as much as I do. I really poured my heart out into these songs. The album takes you through all of the highs and lows of young love. You can expect to hear it in early 2022!

What's your favorite release of this year, from an independent artist you admire?

My favorite release of this year would have to be Bruno Mars’ single, “Leave The Door Open.” I absolutely love how he integrates old-style jazz into his modern music. The layering and vocals are incredible. I dream of working with him someday.
