Welcome to BuzzMusic, Pink Honey Moan! After "Swoon," we were expecting big things from you on "The Live Life Girl Will Arm You," and you delivered! We have to ask, what was the inspiration behind this project?
"Live Life Girl..." is my 'love album.' Romantic love, platonic love, unrequited love, co-dependent/destructive love, and all the colors and shades in between. It is also my attempt to honor and show gratitude to the more vigorous sex—which is female.
What was your favorite part of the creative process for creating this release? Was there a song you enjoyed making the most?
I loved collaborating with so many incredible artists and musicians who inspired me! Bill Lefler, Steve Carter, Beeson, daoud, Lawrence Katz, Sonnet Simmons, and my wife. I enjoyed crafting Bad Man. It has so many layers, both sonically and thematically. Jane Beeson captured the vibe with her amazing vocals and harmonies, and Daoud's trumpet part is the chef's kiss to top it all off.
What does music mean to you?
Haha, I could dip into the platitudes or come off sounding super pretentious with this question! Essentially, I find music is my favorite way to connect with more humans than I could ever imagine in my lifetime and after I'm long gone. I love people, and I love hearing people's stories. It's the stories we tell that connect us. Being able to tell stories through music and melody is a beautiful privilege I do not take for granted.
What do you want your audiences to feel when they listen to your releases?
Seen and understood.
What's next for Pink Honey Moan? Is there anything you want to say to your fans?
I'm always writing and keeping the tap turned on, so new music is on the horizon! Thank you so much for your questions, and to all reading this, thank you for listening - I don't take your attention for granted.
