Stella Prince is an incredibly gifted singer/songwriter and up-and-coming recording artist. She primarily focuses on delivering folk-infused music but remains versatile and open to crossing over into various other genres. Her musical inspiration is fueled by legendary artists such as Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez, but Stella adds her own charismatic charm and authenticity to her original song. Her angelic vocal tone and passionate delivery will have you hooked from beginning to end.
Out now is Stella Prince’s new original song, “Rain,” and we can’t stop grooving to this catchy lighthearted tune on repeat. I highly recommend you do the same so you can sing along with the energetic vocals and authentic indie-folk sound arrangements. The lyrics focus on real life; it’s relatable and completely accessible for listeners from all walks of life.
Stella Prince has already received much success and positive feedback for her newest release, and we can see why! Easy listening instrumentation blasts through the speakers layered with addicting acoustic arrangments and soulful lyricism. “Rain” is a profoundly deep and personal original new song, Stella has created an eclectic motif, and we can’t wait to see what this up-and-coming artist curates for her fans next.
Can you explain to our readers the truth that is embedded within the track?
"Rain" is really about how love can be confusing. It refers to the complication and confusion that comes with love on all different levels at all different times of life. I'm fifteen now, and the love that I would experience now is completely different than at some point when I'm older. But no matter what, it's always confusing!
Have you had professional training? Or is it something you’ve mastered overtime?
I began studying voice and other instruments at a local conservatory prep program when I was little. I still continue to work with teachers and do all the warm-ups and exercises I learned as a kid. I don't think my training will ever leave me.
How do you personally feel about live performance? Would you say that you prefer the live performance aspect of music more over the writing/recording process?
As much as I love songwriting and recording my music in a studio, performing for me has always been number one. I'd rather perform in front of 250,000 people I don't know that a few friends! The energy I get back from the audience is always really special, and the adrenaline I experience while performing is unlike anything else.
What’s next for Stella Prince artistically? Do you have any plans to tackle a longer project in the near future?
I've been working for the past two years writing songs for a future album, and am working on a few more as we speak. I am hoping to find a really great producer to work with to make my first album come together. It is very different than most of the music out there today. It's more connected to the feel of Carole King's "Tapestry" combined with the sound of Joan Baez or Joni Mitchell in the way that the overall feel has a slower, heartfelt depth that flows throughout from song to song. I am very excited about what's to come!
Tell us more about what's next for you after this song release? Any shows in the near future?
I actually didn't release my song "Rain," but instead, I posted a rough version on Instagram, YouTube, and SoundCloud. I'm just about the get started planning some performance dates around the country, so keep in touch, and I'll let you know where I'll be!
