RELEASE RADAR: With Control Releases Thunderous Track “One More Day”

With Control is an up and coming rock band from Toronto, Canada. Comprised of three members, brothers Pat and Wes Clarke met their band mate Nick Bennett in 3rd grade. Formed over three years ago, the trio went from playing blues covers in their small town highschool, opening for the notable Blue Rodeo, April Wine and George Thorogood, to filling hard rock venues in downtown Toronto. Although they didn’t truly come together as a band until highschool, these three guys have extensive musical backgrounds. With Pat learning bass and vocals from an early age, Wes, an experienced drummer, and Nick, a pummeling guitarist, the trio began playing blues with other local musicians, eventually shifting to heavier music. With Control can be found at their house together in Toronto where they rehearse, record and put on house shows. They frequently play at live venues like the legendary Horseshoe Tavern and Bovine Sexclub. Preparing for their much anticipated album release this fall, With Control has released two singles titled “Name of The Game” and “One More Day” to give their fans a taste of what's to come.

“One More Day” is the first song that With Control ever wrote together. Guitarist, Nick showed frontman Pat the opening riff and they were immediately sold on creating a hit. With soul crushing guitar and a hard-hitting vocals, “One More Day” establishes an explosive and unforgettable intro. This track sheds light on the myth of the “One More Day” we all need to discontinue our destructive behaviors. Whether it’s interpreted as heavy subject matter regarding addiction, or something as simple as a diet, the joke is that “One More Day” never arrives. By procrastinating we’re stuck in a metaphorical purgatory and not moving forward in our lives. With Control delivers a hit laced with undertones of their blues background layered with smoky rhythms and tight grooves. Powerhouse collective With Control has their listeners instantly hooked on the brand new single “One More Day”. The honesty, soul and raw energy that goes into this song is easily heard through the speakers. With Control has outdone themselves with their flawless delivery and undeniably chemistry. We love what we’re hearing from this trio so far and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the table with their album release. Stay tuned!

Hey With Control! Welcome to BuzzMusic. Tell us about your new single “One More Day”! What was the writing process like?

One More Day is the first song we wrote together and it's sort of what brought us together. Living in the east end of Toronto at the time I would take the train across the city to see Nick and Wes. We started playing a little bit together like we had in high school but when Nick showed us the riffs that he made for "One More Day"

we decided it was time to get a place together and take things a bit more seriously.

What’s the underground rock scene like in Toronto?

The Toronto music scene is absolutely amazing, we could not have picked a better city to be in. There is a lot of indie rock bands. Though there is a ton of rock bands out there I feel like there's not that many doing it how we do it, which is cool we like that.

How would you describe your live performance?

The phrase "Nails on a chalkboard" doesn't have enough meaning to it, we pick so much rotten fruit out of our hair the next day.

Do you have any upcoming shows or events you’d like to talk about?

Yes, we have a show at Sneaky Dee's on September 7th. It's our album release show, we are going to pack so many fucking people into that place, I would't go, it will not be safe

What’s next for With Control? When is your much anticipated debut album schedule to drop?

We are releasing a few songs off the album between now and the release show, we are working on a video and Wes is practicing his cursive. The three of us are itching to write new music, we spent a long time on these songs and we are really craving writing something new.
