Hey SHA²NK! Wonderful to talk with you! Can you tell us a little more about yourself?
Myself Shashank Verma, I live in Delhi, India. I am 22 years old and a college student.
I started learning guitar when I was about 8 years old and from there my interest in music started to develop. I studied music and start to produce music. It took me about 6 years to learn music and about the DAWs(Digital audio workstation), Plugins, etc. I am an independent artist I produce my song all by myself. Everything in my song the melody, drums, etc are created by me.
I love music production, Music defines me.
How did you come up with the mixture of sounds that can be found throughout “Desperate Love”?
For the song "Desperate love" I want a vibe of romance and happiness. So, to get this vibe I made the sound of my drop lead by vocals that I used in the song. I extracted the part of the vocal and made by drop melody from that sound and mixed it with bass and drums.
Are there any artists that inspire you to write new music?
Yes, there are many artists that inspire me to write new music but there are 2 artists that influenced me a lot to write new music. Deadmau5 and Nirvana. I grew up listening to Nirvana. I like the grunginess, creativity and rock style of the songs. Their music helps me to be more creative and give me the gist to create a vibe in a song. On the other hand, Deadmau5 inspires me towards electronic dance music. The style of Deadmau5 production is amazing. So, I combine both of the styles to create my own.
Did you write “Desperate Love” with the intention of having a deeper meaning?
Yes, the song "Desperate love" has a deeper intention. The song intends the intense love of a lover.
