Hip-hop newcomer Stoney Dudebro is far from a rookie in the music industry with over 10 years of wide-ranging experience. The Stockton based emcee is repping the 209 city but recognizes and pays homage to his strong roots entrenched in northeast Ohio where he lived from birth until 2017. Stoney has released multiple singles, including two with music videos, that were released earlier this year as the first two singles from his debut album “YUAAP!”. In just one year of releasing music Stoney has racked up nearly half-a-million streams on Spotify alone. "YUAAP!" is a 13 song musical journey of the married, college-educated, millennial. With Stoney's unique and versatile style “YUAAP!” is sure to have something for just about everyone.
“Chasin’ Fridays” is an inspiring and empowering R&B track from Stoney Dudebro and Knotch. The honest lyricism focuses on living every day like it’s our last. We’re not living to our full extent if we’re constantly wishing it was Friday. As the intro track to Stoney Dudebro’s album “YUAAP!”, “Chasin’ Fridays” only scratches the surface of what Stoney has learned. He spreads positivity and gratitude through music and we’re loving every minute of it. The very essence of “Chasin’ Fridays” is this idea of reflecting on difficulty but looking ahead with hope and a belief that everything will be alright. This underlying sentiment is represented by every layer and intricacy, so “Chasin’ Fridays” in full leaves the listener with a shared sense of strength and trust that the future is bright. A refreshing and melodic new song that works hard to lift you.

Welcome to BuzzMusic! Congratulations on the release of your debut album “YUAAP!”. What’s the overall concept of this album?
This album is my journey and my introduction to the world. I've always been a dreamer but became a doer with this album. It really takes a look at what I've experienced since 2018. Had a great job most people would love to have... made great money.. great benefits.. company car.. stocks.. but it was extremely toxic and put me in a very dark hole... and with the loving support of my wife decided to walk away from it and start pursuing what I have always gravitated towards. It's the highs and lows of the most challenging, rewarding time of my life.
What does your song “Chasin’ Fridays” represent for you? Can you dive into the lyrics and tell us the meaning behind it?
This song is so special to me. The concept was inspired by one of my biggest influencers, motivators, idols whatever you wanna call him; whom is Gary Vaynerchuk aka Gary V. He's talked about how if you're "Chasin' Fridays" than you're living wrong. That's exactly what I was doing and that's what so many people are still doing right now. You shouldn't be wishing away the majority of your time and days because your time here is the most limited and valuable resource there is. There is plenty of money to be made out there. Apps like Lyft, Uber, Grubhub, Wag, etc. are work at your own pace apps. If you are stuck at a job you hate then stop doing it. Leaving the safety net of that JOB (Just Over Broke) made me spread my wings and grow as a man.
You’ve released a lot of new music this year and all of it all is incredibly impressive. Have you always had such a dedicated workflow, or has this year been one you’ve chosen to push a little harder with?
Once I'm locked in on something I go after it - hard. I came up with a plan for this album. It took a lot of twists and turns and didn't go the way I originally anticipated, but I decided I would adapt & overcome. I'm 100% independent so I just been grinding as hard as I can.
What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward?
I'm hopeful to continue building my brand and keep putting out content. Sooner or later someone who can help me really scale this vision of mine will notice. I really wanna go on tour soon and spread these good vibes.
What other projects are you working on through the end of 2019?
Going to continue pushing my album YUAAP! and release a few more videos that's for sure. Stay tuned by following @stoneydudebro on all formats!
