Born and raised in the birthplace of hip-hop, the Bronx, John Bryan is a talented rapper, lyricist and well-rounded artist. Heavily influenced by a 12 step program called Celebrate Recovery, John’s most recent music is coming from this journey deep inside and in my past recollecting my formative years and all that has influenced me to be who I am today. He invites all on his journey to navigate his past hurts and gain clarity, peace, forgiveness, and grace as God walks him through all of it.

“Summers Are Hard” is an extremely introspective track with raw and honest lyricism from John Bryan. He shares his emotive story about his father figure and how the relationship ultimately fell through. The music remains simplistic in order for you to be able to hone in on every lyric. Every verse gave me goosebumps, and I promise you it will affect you too. John Bryan is impressively self-aware of his trials and tribulations. His outlook on life is mature despite his personal struggles with rejection, distance, and family. “Summers Are Hard” dives into the details of John Bryan’s seasonal depression and his reasoning behind it. As if we’re reading a personal journal, “Summers Are Hard” spares no detail and earns respect through truth and honesty. Originally, John Bryan wrote “Summer Are Hard” as a way to cope with his own issues, but as the track developed, he truly wanted to help others going through similar situations and remind them that they are not alone and always have God. A pleasure to listen to and worth a few listens by anyone in need of a little comfort.
