The Byways recently released their pop sprinkled folk-rock EP dubbed "Something To Prove" and it certainly proves the band to be a strong contender in the classic folk-rock world. Songs are filled with life and passion, and often hook you in quickly with strong vocal sections and great pop grooves. There is much classic rock influence seeping through with most of these tracks and it's all done with taste. "How Did We Get Here" is a top-notch immediately fun classic. Kicking straight off with youthful energy but keeping to the records mature rock style, this song shows some excellent songwriting chops. "Believe In Me" is another example of how the EP is lyrically upfront and musically powerful and fun all at the same time. These songs are not only easy to listen to but beckons an almost nostalgic memorandum of the days of youth. The Byways have let a valiant effort out to the world and it's completely worth a few listens at least. You can do that HERE.
