“Amsterdam” is a contagious new track laced with heavy bass, flawless bars, and a catchy hook. Water5 paints a vivid picture in the listeners mind and takes us on a psychedelic soundscape through his music. Water5 is no stranger to success and knows that he’ll always hustle by any means necessary. “Amsterdam” weaves through a raw and honest storytelling anthem. I love the psychedelic sound arrangements. The addition of Duran on the track adds a refreshing twist! Stay on the lookout for Water5!

Hey Water5! Can you start by introducing yourself to our readers and telling us how you got started making music?
I started writing songs when I was ten years old. I’ll never forget the day it started, while cleaning my room (one of my favorite pastimes) and listing to the jazz channel on the radio. Most of the songs didn’t have lyrics so I thought it was my job to add them. So I did, as a kid from a broken home & having had my big cousin murdered simultaneously, music is what I turned to to cope.
Who are you top three musical influences? Why?
Kendrick Lamar; because he is an excellent poet & story teller. I appreciate how he approaches every record as if it was throughout & planned. Frank Ocean; I think I like him for the same reason as Kendrick. There is just genius in his lyrics. Radio head; this band is incredible & they have really influenced me with their style in writing and music production.
We love your track “Amsterdam”! What inspired this track?
The idea came when I thought about living life to the fullest. I realized that I’ve experienced a lot of life & im grateful for it. The message is that no matter who you are or what you do in life, you can literally do whatever you want. The only thing stopping you is you.
What do you want your listeners to take away from your music?
saying goodbye is not an option. I wish for my music to be embedded in my listeners hearts & mind. I wish to make timeless music for them to grow old with & share with their children.
