Born in Fort Benning, GA, GiZRoK grew up in a family full of musicians. Although he did not initially gravitate towards being musically talented, he nurtured his talent for writing which led him to put his focus into becoming an artist. His brothers introduced him to different genres to help find a new way of going into what he wanted sonically, without destroying his sound altogether. Being a big fan of different genres, he realized that he did not fall into an existing genre, so he created his genre, titled GiZRoK. Now residing in Phenix City, AL, he has been dazzling crowds in the tri-city area with the self-titled genre he created!
GiZRoK- (abstract noun): A blend of Hip-Hop rhymes, trap beats, R&B runs, and
melodies accompanied by rock distortion.
GiZRoK’s latest song, “Confess” is a smooth and expert blend of genres. While instrumentally the project leans in acoustic rock and world music inspired direction, the vocals tip their hat to R&B and the hooks tend to throw in something a little more hip-hop-like. Anthemic and indicative of an artist who knows how to hold an audience’s attention and bring them together in a moment of mesmerizing soundscapes. Though it sounds like an easy listening track from the outside, “Confess” holds an element of depth to much of the writing, which adds a subtle layer of intensity. As an introduction to the artist, “Confess” works quickly and draws you in. GiZRoK creates an ambiance that invites and impresses, then guides you along with inspiring poetry, crystal clear imagery, and a voice loaded with equal parts confidence and absolute character.

Hey GiZRoK! Congrats on the release of your new single “Confess”! What does this song represent for you?
Confess represents me as a man being honest and true to his feelings. It doesn’t happen often so when it does, I compose music that is hard for some men to say. That’s how I wanted it to represent the men that usually don’t express their feelings.
Where is the best setting to listen to “Confess”, and what do you hope people take away from it?
With your significant other. If not your significant other, the individual that you have something to say to as well as a Karaoke setting.Hopefully after someone listens to it, they will express themselves and not hide their feelings. The scariest thing in life is missing any opportunity and one way not to miss it, is to express your feelings and say what you have to say.
What are your thoughts on mainstream music today?
I’m definitely not a hater when it comes to mainstream music today, but there are some songs I can jam out too, but definitely cannot relate to it. The music is catchy. Dissing music now is like dissing music back then, because I am sure that they are saying some of the things we are saying just in a different way. If they like it, I love it.
If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why?
I cannot just put one song to display me. Primarily because I go off how I’m feeling at that moment. Every song that I make is going off of the now that I’m feeling. One minute I could be talking about love, the next off the wall, and the next sex. I live for the now when it comes to different songs that I have composed. Only way you will know it’s me is based off my voice and sometimes that changes depending on my feeling and the song.I cannot just put one song to display me. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward?
My main aspiration is to make history. I would definitely like to make something that is a game changer. I love the thrill of getting on something and bettering myself in the process.
