"Welcome to Buzz, WITHOUT A SIN! Your latest single, "BLOOD," is a hauntingly beautiful exploration of inner turmoil and temptation. What inspired you to write this song?"

Response: We drew inspiration from the story of Kaneki, the main character from the manga Tokyo Ghoul, for both the lyrics and the overall atmosphere of the music video. Specifically, we drew from the iconic scenes and the overarching storyline to create a haunting and immersive experience. The song and video delve into the struggle of not fitting in, resonating with Kaneki Ken's inner conflict of being a ghoul while living a human life.

"BLOOD" seamlessly blends elements of alternative R&B, emo rock, and even manga influences. How did you approach creating this unique sound?"

Initially, we considered using neo soul/R&B chords, but then we had the idea to incorporate sound design elements from anime. However, our aim was to retain our core emo influences. Then, we had this breakthrough moment where we thought, "What if Bring Me The Horizon and Chase Atlantic collaborated?" This led to the creation of "BLOOD," our own genre which we like to call emo RnB!

"The music video for "BLOOD" is visually striking and complements the song's dark themes perfectly. What was the creative process behind bringing this visual narrative to life?"

Creating the music video was quite a challenge. We aimed to recreate one of the most iconic scenes from Tokyo Ghoul. Fans of the series might recognize this scene instantly; for those unfamiliar, I highly recommend checking out the anime! The most challenging part was finding suitable locations to recreate Tokyo Ghoul's visual universe. We rented a bar in Paris ( the Atomic Cat Bar) and for the "torture" scene, we constructed the set ourselves, which was a real timing challenge. Afterward, we gathered as much equipment as possible to create a dark and eerie atmosphere, even purchasing a centipede for one of the scenes. Don't worry; the centipede is doing just fine and living its best life with our drummer, Rémi!

"Lyrically, "BLOOD" delves into some heavy topics, such as the struggle with inner demons and the desire for escape. How do you balance conveying these emotions while still creating a song that resonates with listeners?"

At first, drawn by the instrumental's tone, we considered crafting a dark R&B track revolving around themes of heartbreak and toxic relationships. However, we felt compelled to infuse more rawness, a touch of gore, and a deeper emo essence. That's when we decided to explore the inner conflict of not fitting in and brought the idea of Kaneki Ken's to the table. Our goal was to convey the complex emotions experienced by the protagonist of Tokyo Ghoul while ensuring the song remained relatable to anyone who has experienced remotely similar feelings.

"As a band, you've amassed millions of streams on your previous releases. How do you feel "BLOOD" represents your growth as artists, and what do you hope fans take away from this new single?"

Our journey began with "FRI-END," our first single, which embodied the essence of alt emo rock. We then pivoted to release "COLORS," a more pop-infused emo track. With our latest single, "BLOOD," we've ventured into uncharted territory. Our love for music knows no bounds; our playlists range from Kpop to Deathcore, Hyperpop to R&B. The overarching mission of WITHOUT A SIN is to explore diverse genres while maintaining our unique emo identity. We're thrilled to have attracted a new wave of fans, particularly from TikTok and the internet community, whom we affectionately refer to as the new alt generation. In essence, we aspire to become a pioneering internet emo band for the new generation.
