- Alyssa O’Toole Comes Clean In Catchy New Single, “i Admit iT”
Staten Island singer-songwriter Alyssa O'Toole lays down some bittersweet confessions in her latest alt-pop anthem, "i Admit iT." The 25-year-old singer-songwriter has been carving her lane in the music scene for over four years. Since releasing her debut EP, Safe House, in 2020, she's been steadily dropping pop singles that showcase her evolving sound and songwriting skills. With "i Admit iT," O'Toole takes a grittier turn, blending alternative pop with touches of grunge. The result is a raw, emotionally charged track that's bound to resonate with listeners. Expanding on "I Admit iT," we're met with dark, grunge-esque guitar licks alongside airy drums that keep our heads nodding. O'Toole's vocals are both vulnerable and powerful, perfectly capturing the conflicting emotions of a relationship in turmoil. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of confusion and longing, with lines like "I can't figure you out, I admit it" serving as a brutally honest refrain. What really sets "i Admit iT" apart is its infectious instrumentals. The guitar riffs are particularly memorable, adding a layer of energy that contrasts beautifully with the song's introspective lyrics. It's powerful, catchy, and ready to sit at the top of your playlist. When you're looking for a new breakup song from the heart, this is it. Hear it yourself and find Alyssa O'Toole's new single, "i Admit iT," on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Alyssa! Congratulations on the release of your emotionally charged single, "I Admit iT." What inspired you to create this song? I actually wrote this song nearly 3 years ago. What heavily inspired me was hearing the instrumental alone. Once I heard it, I knew this was going to be effortless to write. I hit record and sang whatever came naturally to me; the rest was history. This is the first single I engineered myself. I wasn’t sure about releasing it until a few months ago. I went back and listened and thought, “Why haven’t I put this out yet?” I had such a great song sitting in my files on a MacBook, waiting to be played for years. Your biggest song is probably sitting in files, too. Don’t let self-doubt prevent an amazing creation from getting the recognition it deserves. It’s about building the confidence to release it! I started to focus on being unique rather than aiming for perfection and set realistic expectations for myself as an artist. The guitar work in "i Admit iT" is fantastic. Can you tell us about the process of creating those catchy riffs? The production behind this song is extremely powerful. I feel that creativity comes from making various attempts. I like working with riffs that don’t sound like songs already made. I enjoy making music that’s unique, where you hear a certain riff or beat come in, and you know it’s my song or say, “yep, that’s Alyssa O’Toole.” Your lyrics in "i Admit iT" are very introspective. Was it challenging to be so open and vulnerable in your songwriting, or does that come easy to you? Songwriting, in general, has always been very easy for me. I like to compare it to poetry. Honestly, I think of myself as a poet more than a songwriter. If you read the lyrics to any of my songs, you’ll see the poetic side of it. Without the music, they’re all poems. I always describe my writing process as a voiceless voice that brings words to me. I truly don’t know where it comes from, but it’s like I can hear the lyrics before I sing it. "i Admit iT" feels like a shift from your previous pop releases. Was this a conscious decision to explore a new sound? Of course! I love working with many different styles of music. I have songs made for different genres, including rap, hip/hop, rock, R&B, EDM, etc. Overall, I make pop music. It’s essentially incorporating a little bit of everything while mixing the old with the new. What do you hope listeners feel when hearing "i Admit iT?" I hope my listeners feel pumped and empowered when hearing my single. This is definitely a song where you can’t help but sing along! I make my songs repetitive purposely so it’s easy for the listener to jump in and feel a part of it, too! Instagram
- Michael Babb Spices Up Country Music With "Chili Pepper"
Oklahoma-born singer-songwriter Michael Babb turns up the heat with his latest country single, "Chili Pepper." This multi-talented artist isn't just a country crooner—he's also been a family physician for over 30 years. Babb's unique background infuses his music with a blend of life experience and musical passion, drawing inspiration from classics like The Beatles and Dolly Parton, as well as modern hitmakers like Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. In his newest single, "Chili Pepper," Babb serves up a clever twist on the classic country love song. Co-written with John Colgin and Reid Brannon, the track blurs the lines between a spicy pepper and a red hot romance. Diving deeper into "Chili Pepper," the track immediately sizzles with upbeat energy. Babb's vocals are warm and inviting, perfectly complementing the song's playful lyrics. The production, helmed by Daniel Ford of DR FORD Productions, adds an extra layer of polish, with studio wizards Chris Condon and Caleb Mundy bringing their A-game to create a sound that's both radio-ready and distinctly Babb. We're head over heels for the song's clever wordplay. Babb weaves the metaphor of a spicy pepper throughout the song, creating a fun, memorable hook that'll leave you singing along in no time. It's the kind of track that makes you smile, tapping your foot and maybe even reaching for a glass of water to cool down from all that lyrical heat. Craving some sweet heat in your playlist? Spice things up with Michael Babb's "Chili Pepper," now available on all major streaming platforms. We're loving the spicy vibes of "Chili Pepper." What inspired you to write a love song with such a unique twist? I was sitting in a restaurant mixing hot red pepper sauce with my ketchup to kick it up a notch for my fries. In this case, it was Tabasco (I love all kinds of red pepper sauces). The cap on the bottle was red. I thought, "I love hot sauce. I love this redheaded bottle of Tabasco!" I took the idea to John Colgin and Reid Brannon during one of our writing sessions, and they understood immediately. We personified the red pepper as a farm girl, and the song was written. What was your songwriting process like with John Colgin and Reid Brannon for "Chili Pepper?" Did you have a specific 'muse' in mind? The process typically starts as a conversation about what is on our minds that day. Sometimes, we write about recent happenings. Occasionally, we share some "hooks," catchy words or phrases. When we find a common hook, we write lyrics and eventually put an appropriate melody and vibe to the song. The production on "Chili Pepper" is top-notch. Can you tell us about working with Daniel Ford and the studio team? DR FORD PRODUCTIONS Daniel Ford has been producing multiple genres of music in the studio for over 20 years. He has produced more than 50 songs for me since 2019. He has vast experience in Nashville and L.A. He can immediately grasp the idea that I have for the overall vibe. Along with Chris Condon (guitars) and Caleb Mundy (bass); Daniel and crew create the music for the song, I call them studio magicians (a play on studio musicians). They take the demo of rough coal and polish it into a diamond. I do the vocals and have often been in the booth for hours recording a 4-minute song. Daniel expects nothing less than perfection. What was your favorite part about creating "Chili Pepper"? What moments or experiences did you enjoy the most? I loved how John and Reid lit up when I explained how I came up with the idea. They are chili pepper fans as well. We had a great time comparing a farm girl's beauty to the beauty of a chili pepper. Then, when I took the song to the studio, Daniel, Chris, and Caleb immediately grasped the vibe and laid down infectious tracks. Pure magical genius. How do you want listeners to feel when hearing "Chili Pepper"? What was your goal in that respect? I want the listeners to forget their troubles, smile, and follow the story of falling in love, even if it is with a chili pepper... LOL. And, if the song is stuck in their head all day, I consider that a bonus. Enjoy!
- Joey Supratta Sets The Tone With "Praise To The Most High"
Los Angeles hip-hop artist and producer Joey Supratta delivers a powerful opening statement with "Praise to the Most High (Intro)," the lead track from his new album of the same name. As CEO of Supratta Music Group and a respected figure in the industry, Supratta has been busy collaborating with major artists like WESTSIDE BOOGIE and REASON. His music blends classic 90s hip-hop influences with modern production, creating a sound that's both timeless and timely. The 94-second intro track serves as a perfect gateway into Supratta's latest album. With dark, atmospheric production and razor-sharp lyrics, it immediately establishes the project's tone and showcases Supratta's skill as both a rapper and producer. "Praise to the Most High" grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. The ominous instrumental, driven by hard-hitting drums and hazy melodies, creates the perfect backdrop for Supratta's bold delivery. His flow is precise and calculated, each bar landing with impact while his clever wordplay keeps us rewinding to catch every reference. This intro track packs so much intensity into such a short time. Rather than feeling rushed or incomplete, the track's conciseness works well—leaving us hungry for more. It's a masterclass in setting the tone for an album and leaving listeners wanting the whole thing. Ready for impact? Find Joey Supratta's full album, Praise to the Most High, on all major streaming platforms. We're blown away by the intensity of "Praise to the Most High (Intro)." What inspired you to open your album with such a powerful statement? I appreciate you taking the time to listen! I felt opening with an intense record would grab the listener right from the start. The intro to the album gives you something you'd hear on a radio show freestyle segment where an artist showcases what they can do, focusing on punchlines and that lyrical skill of "connecting the dots" that hip-hop fans love. It never hurts to remind other artists and listeners just how sharp your blade really is. The production of "Praise to the Most High (Intro)" is incredible. As a rapper and producer, what does that creative process look like for you? Regarding creativity, I don't have set steps that I tend to follow. Sometimes, I'll produce something that I have no intention of using, but to me, that's a crucial part of engaging your creative mind. For this album, though, I'd say 90 percent of the records were recorded without writing at all. I would open up a session with certain productions I wanted to use and let my mind do the rest. Piece by piece, the lines would come to me, and with each line, I'd memorize the one before it until the entire verse was finished. I thought of it as another way to strengthen my creative ability by letting the words come naturally. When it was all said and done, I really enjoyed recording this album using that process. Could you expand on the overall concept and theme of the full project, Praise to the Most High ? What does this album mean to you? Praise to the Most High is giving all praise to God. I know some may see that as contradicting given the nature of a few of these records, but in reality, God is the one who blessed me with this ability to create. To me, this project shows the struggle of taking matters into our own hands and trusting God's timing in life. For example, in my record, " Everything's Fine ?" I open my first verse with. " Stuck between manifestin' and asking God for direction. I've had enough of unanswered questions. In need of some time to reflect but can't come to peace with my own reflection... " and that does stem from what I, and the majority of people, deal with daily. Another example is my record " Water To Blood (Interlude)" . That record is symbolic for having God on your side and exposing the ones who choose the opposite. A few lyrics that support that are "..DND, we focused. They ain't be lending no hands unless it's the one that they sold their soul with. They hopeless. Stuck in they mind, hypnosis " as well as " Water the blood just like I was Moses. Look for the flood, the water's erosive. I'm trying to make it to Heaven. So why they keep saying that hell is the closest " Throughout the album you'll hear references to God as I remind myself not to lean not on my own understanding. Which track from Praise to the Most High did you enjoy creating the most? Could you tell us about that process? That's a tough one. I feel my creative mind wanders more often than not. A different feeling inspired each record, but if I had to choose, I'd say, " Everything's Fine? " It was one of my favorites. When making that record, I feel I really tapped into versions of myself that not many see. The question mark in the title symbolizes how we tend not fully to believe ourselves when saying that phrase. The contradicting hook going back and forth is nothing more than our inner monologue trying to convince ourselves that, in fact, everything's fine, but in reality, everything just might not be. The last line of my second verse sums it up perfectly. " Just let me hide while I put up walls. And let me tell you lies while my eyes are begging you just to get involved. " Aside from that, the records I have featuring major artists were a big accomplishment to me. "For Real" feat. WESTSIDE BOOGIE ( Shady Records ), "Playground" feat. REASON (formerly signed to Top Dawg Entertainment) , and "Stop!" feat. Cozz ( Dreamville Records ) will always be three of my all-time favorite records. What do you hope listeners take away from the full album Praise to the Most High ? I want listeners to take away whatever they need from this album. I want these records to mean something personal to them, just as they meant something personal to me. Music can be interpreted in many ways, and that's the beautiful part of creativity. I wanted to showcase my lyrical talent, the fact that I can keep up with signed major artists, and records that show a deeper side to my creativity. At the end of the day, I just want listeners to enjoy this project and keep it in their rotation, and I hope at least one of these records can help them get through whatever it is they're going through in life. The song's music video, directed by Jay Arcansalin, is a stunning visual that brings the lyrics to life. Shot in black and white, it follows a man's journey through grief, from a funeral car ride to laying flowers on a grave. SAVNT's performance and the narrative he provides are deeply compelling. Experience the emotional journey of Ghost Hounds' "Long Ride Home" featuring Patty Griffin, now available on all major streaming platforms and YouTube. We're touched by your cover of "Long Ride Home." What drew you to this particular Patty Griffin song? The storytelling in this song is exactly what drew us to it. The way Patty’s words effortlessly tell the tale of regret after losing someone you love is a story I think anyone can identify with. We all have moments where we wish we were kinder or said more. The lyrics are raw and paint a beautiful picture of lovers turning to strangers and all the time wasted in between. How did the collaboration with Patty Griffin come about for "Long Ride Home," and what was it like working with her on this track? As we were developing our setlist for a performance, our bandmate Thomas suggested this song to the band, and we were all really moved by the words and were excited to perform it at the Roxian. Watching the reaction from the crowd that night, we knew we had to record it and celebrate that moment. Never in a million years did I think we would pitch it to Patty’s team, and she’d love it—that’s all any artist could hope for. So when she decided to record the song with us. Hearing our voices blend together was special; I hope everyone who listens loves it as much as we do. The music video for "Long Ride Home" is incredibly moving. Can you tell us about the concept and filming process? Sitting with our director, Jay, we decided that the best way to pay homage to such an iconic song was to stay true to the story and show how introspective grief and loss can make a person. In the video, you watch this older man say his final goodbye to his late wife, and it was really inspiring to see the way Donald (the lead actor) was able to convey such raw emotion without words—I definitely took notes. What was the most rewarding part about recreating such a classic tune like "Long Ride Home" alongside Patty Griffin herself? What was your favorite part of the process? My favorite part of the process was having a legend hear our version of the song and be excited to collaborate; that’s a level of validation that you will never forget. What do you hope listeners take away from your version of "Long Ride Home"? What do you want them to feel? I hope people listen to the song and remember to tell the ones they love how much they care today and give them their flowers now. Instagram X

We loved “Body Language,” we were blushing more than a little earlier! We wanted to ask you what this release's creative process was like. I wanted to incorporate the element and character of Poison Ivy into the video. Ivy is prolific at using and weaponizing body language to manipulate and communicate. Once I told Tolga that was my idea, he was completely on board. There’s an absolutely gorgeous accompanying video for this release (out on YouTube); you mentioned you made it with the help of the esteemed Turkish dance-pop photographer Tolga Katas, right? What was your favorite part of bringing your vision for the music video to life? I sure did. Tolga has been a part of my journey since the “So Fly” and “Avalanche” days. I like to call him my primary video physician. Whenever my ideas are communicated to Tolga, he absorbs them and then can represent them on camera so well-seasonedly. Since we’ve been working together for a few years now, he knows the objective, the presentation, and the individual signature I like to communicate through each video concept. What’s your biggest source of motivation when you make your music, and as an extension, what does music mean to you? The biggest source of motivation for me is to be as individual as I can be in my approach and in my style. In an industry climate where many people try to fit the cookie-cutter mold, it's best to try to make history and not cookies. What would you want it to be if your fans could take one thing away from your music? That I did it my way. What’s next for Kendra Erika, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? More music, an album in the works, and more playing golf. Please stay tuned on social media for further announcements and projects! Instagram Facebook

- Katherine Nagy Finds Joy In What’s Truly Important On “Work Is My Prayer”
There’s no greater happiness to be found than taking care of the little ones you love. Born and raised in Kinsale, Ireland, before making the U.S. her home at age seven, Katherine Nagy’s musical journey was not straightforward. Although her life has been a whirlwind, with time spent in Puerto Rico, Spain, Seattle, Chicago, and County Galway (Ireland), these seemingly competing influences would become the basis for truly special musical inspiration. These rich influences would provide Nagy with a burning curiosity for culture and the human condition, which would eventually inspire her approach to music, which she affectionately termed “Gypsy Lady” after her childhood. Initially, Nagy’s creative spirit was not wholly fulfilled. Instead, it would softly burn like smoldering coal while she showed her impressive ability in a different field, working as an auditor, recruiter, and retention specialist for global business consultant giant Deloitte. However, the call of music and the ability to spend more time with her family eventually became too good to resist, with her debut EP, Gypsy Lady, and full-length 2018 album, Heartsongs, marking the arrival of a profoundly introspective and profound artist. As a single, “Work Is My Prayer” feels like the perfect representation of all Nagy’s latest album ‘Sweetlove,’ is supposed to embody. It’s warm, sweet, and accessible; something to throw on at the end of a long day or by a warm crackling fire or rainy day. In short, “Work Is My Prayer” feels comforting, with a minimalist instrumental performance meshing perfectly with Nagy’s matronly vocals as she tenderly sings lines like “My work is my prayer / If there’s a heaven I'll get there” and “Plus, taking care of you is how I pray.” Inspired by her childhood, every line on “Work Is My Prayer” is sung sincerely. Katherine Nagy’s latest release, “Work Is My Prayer,” is a tender, heartwarming tribute to the warmth of a grandmother’s love and perfectly represents the simple charm her latest album, ‘Sweetlove,’ exemplifies as well. - Dondrea Returns To Her "Northern Roots" In Refreshing New Single
Los Angeles-based Canadian singer-songwriter Dondrea delivers a heartfelt homage to her homeland with her latest single, "Northern Roots." After spending over a decade in Music Supervision, licensing songs for shows like Degrassi , Dondrea has returned to her first love—creating music. Her recent comeback, marked by 2023's "First Time," has already led to opportunities like opening for Michael Bernard Fitzgerald on his Canadian Farm Tour. "Northern Roots" continues Dondrea's journey of self-discovery and reconnection after "First Time"—a look at grounding yourself after exhausting burnout. Working with producer Matt Bauer and Juno Award-winning engineer Dajaun Martineau, she crafts a gentle, immersive sound that tugs on every heartstring. The new single, "Northern Roots," opens with delicate country instrumentation that immediately transports listeners to the Canadian landscape Dondrea calls home. Her vocals carry both warmth and longing, perfectly capturing the bittersweet feeling of being far from home while carrying it in your heart. The production, handled masterfully by Martineau, creates an expansive sonic atmosphere that lets Dondrea's thoughts run wild about the person she's become while finding her way back to her "Northern Roots." While the song is deeply personal to Dondrea's experience as a Canadian living abroad, its themes of homesickness and staying connected to one's origins resonate with anyone who's ever left home to chase their dreams. Let Dondrea take you home with her newest single, "Northern Roots," now available on all major streaming platforms.
