- Adam Noviello’s Got All The Ingredients For A Good Time On “RECIPE”
Bite into this delicious release. Described by Mama Alto as “the long-lost love child of Troye Sivan and Lady Gaga,” Adam Noviello has recently made a name for themselves with their bold, genre-defying releases. By all accounts, a force of nature in the worlds of music and theatre, Noviello’s daring and unapologetic approach to pop music has earned them a loyal following. At all times, true to themselves and their artistic vision, Noviello remains one of the most exciting talents rising in the industry today. Based out of Naarm (also known as Melbourne), Noviello’s success as a nonbinary singer-songwriter and actor has been inspiring. Having burst onto the scene with their debut single “HERETIC” (which rocketed to #1 on the Australian iTunes Dance Chart in 2022), Noviello has since continued to push the bar higher with each and every release. After their hit single “SATAN'S FILING MY NAILS” caught the attention of Vogue Australia and MTV Hits, Noviello’s song played throughout Sydney World Pride 2023, bringing Noviello some of the recognition their talent deserved and opening more doors for the rising star. Noviello’s latest release, “RECIPE,” is a sleek, glossy affair that would be perfect on the runway or dancefloor. Produced by Oscar Sharah, it captivates in multiple ways. Tongue-in-cheek lyrics like “We came here for sushi, Tabouleh, / Your berry coulis / Not your life story / How do we bake it?” make for fun listening, especially when Noviello’s soaring and enticing vocals are at the helm. Add in an instrumental arrangement that seamlessly blends influences of pop, dance, and house, and you have a release that’s guaranteed to sweep you off your feet. Eat up. With the release of their new single, “RECIPE,” Adam Noviello continues to prove that they’re an unstoppable creative force on the rise. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Noviello’s latest release, “RECIPE,” which is out now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Adam Noviello! We loved “RECIPE,” and we wanted to ask! What was the creative process like making this? Hey, fam! Thanks for having me. So, RECIPE came about when I met Sam Huybregts (YES HOMO). Sam and I connected via a mutual friend, and he reached out to me because he wanted to collaborate. We met up for a coffee, and literally that afternoon, we were in the studio. The song was finished that very day! Creatively, we connected very quickly, but I honestly just adored him as a person! It was so effortless and easy. Fast forward to today, and RECIPE is out for all to dance to! Sam and I are good friends now and are working on more music together, so stay tuned! What’s your fondest music-related memory? Oooo, tough question. I have so many! Imma give you a couple. The greatest live music experience of my life to this day is seeing Nile Rogers and Chic. World class. The most exciting, slick, fun, brilliant set I've ever witnessed. On a personal level, one of the first gigs I went to as a teenager was Florence + the Machine at Festival Hall. I viscerally remember hearing her sing and being so captivated by how she jumped around on stage, belting her face off. It may or may not have inspired me to want to do the same... What’s your biggest source of motivation when you make your music, and as an extension of that, what does music mean to you? For me, it's all about what I want my audience to feel from the music I am working on. RECIPE, for example, was to make people horny and happy. I wanted a song that just got people moving and made folks want to dance and feel sexy. Because that is what music is to me! I put on my favorite artists, my favorite albums, and my current obsessions because they make me feel a certain way. Music inspires me, excites me, and supports me. What do you think is the most important quality for a musician to have? Authenticity. Whether it's a silly bop like RECIPE or a more vulnerable soul-bearing track, I think the greatest musicians have a deep clarity of who they are and what they're trying to say with their tunes. This is what I aspire to be in all art that I make. Every lyric, every sound, and every visual is coming from a place within me that is true and honest. Which can be scary, depending on the project, but that's the place where I think magic is made. What’s next for Adam Noviello? The next year is going to be BUSYYY. I have more music coming, I am playing a headline show at The Toff in Melbourne on September 28th and I have a bunch of other live shows being announced soon. To my fans, I honestly just have to say thank you! The love I and my music have been shown has been nothing short of incredible. I'm truly grateful. adamnoviello.com

- David D’Angelo Gets Lost In His Own World On His Introspective Release “I.M.O.W”
It’s hard to not get too in your own head. Inspired by alternative hip-hop titans like Mick Jenkins, FKJ and Robert Glasper, David D’Angelo is a dynamic, multifaceted musician whose sound skillfully blends elements of hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and electronic influences. Known for releases which reflect a keen awareness of himself and the environment around him, D’Angelo has built a buzz through highly compelling and accessible work. Although his musical journey has been anything but ordinary thus far, we get the feeling that D’Angelo hasn’t even hit his peak yet. As a true fan of the musical medium through and through, one of David D’Angelo’s biggest goals is to use music to inspire and transform the lives of others. Although he does a great job of this through his releases, he also finds other ways of engaging his listeners. As a music teacher, D’Angelo’s been slowly but surely passing his love and knowledge for the genre to his students, inspiring a new generation of musicians and leaving a rich legacy that’s bettered not only himself, but others as well. As part of David D’Angelo’s latest album, “In My Own World”, his release “I.M.O.W” (feat. Chloe Jean & David Scott) had some stiff competition from the rest of the album’s strong releases. And yet, stand out “I.M.O.W” does. As the titular track for “In My Own World”, “I.M.O.W” fittingly embodies many of the qualities D’Angelo has become known for, with themes of self-reflection, vulnerability and powerful inner dialogue leading the way. Led by D’Angelo’s mesmerizing keyboard and Scott’s beautiful violin play, the melancholic instrumental performance set the perfect tone for featured vocalist Chloe Jean’s soft yet compelling vocal performance. Fittingly and by no mere coincidence, “I.M.O.W” perfectly captures the mental quagmire we can find ourselves in, but as D’Angelo would probably tell you, that’s part of what makes us human. David D’Angelo’s ability to connect with both his inner world and the communities around him is evident in his work, with “I.M.O.W” standing as one of the many proofs that his artistic ethos is both meaningful, relatable, and compelling. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream David D’Angelo’s release “I.M.O.W”, available on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, David D’Angelo! We loved “I.M.O.W”, as soon as we heard it we knew we had to ask! What was the creative process like for making this release, and how did it feel when you heard the completed version for the first time? Thank you so much for having me on your platform, and I am pleased to hear you loved this project! The inspiration and musical energy for "I.M.O.W" came to me during a time of lots of change and introspection in my life. At the end of 2019 through 2020, the time I created/wrote/developed this song, I was in the process of moving from North Carolina to San Francisco, dealing with romantic heartbreak from a long-term relationship, while simultaneously the world was shifting into more confusion and isolation at the start of the global pandemic. The particular chord progression and melody I created spoke to me at the time I made it. So I developed it further into the Instrumental and ultimately full song of I.M.O.W, with the particular lyrical content and featured artists that we hear on it today. I met Chloe Jean, the featured vocalist, at a music conference within my first couple of months of living in the Bay area! She is so talented and such a bright person! We immediately connected, not just on music but having similar values and inspirations. She is a teacher and lover of nature as well, and related to the theme of “In My Own World” as a project. David Scott is the violinist on this record, but he is also a multi-faceted producer/artist and entrepreneur. Not only do we have similar values and inspirations, but he is a friend of mine from Durham, NC, where I grew up. I have known him for many years and we have collaborated on many other records together! Completing I.M.O.W took over a year. The vocal recording and final mix/mastering was done by Eric Glauser at the legendary Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco. The violin parts were recorded in the home studio of David Scott in Durham, NC. All the rest of my instrumentation/production was done in NC and SF, in various home studios of my own. Hearing the completed record felt awesome, however hearing the completed record with the video when the video was finished..that’s when I felt excited! What’s your biggest source of motivation when you make your music, and as an extension of that, what does music mean to you? Music means everything to me. Aside from my love for my family, and love for nature, listening to music and creating music is what I love the most. I always knew I wanted to continue pursuing music into adulthood and thus make it my career for the long term! Everything in my life can and has inspired my music at times, however, my biggest source of motivation and inspiration is the natural world and the importance of our environment. I am motivated to create music that speaks about things I care about, like the importance of caring for our environment and all living things on this planet. My intro and outro track on my album In My World highlight this motivation. The first thing I say in the intro is “This is the music I make to connect with the Earth.” This statement is very true to me and my creative visions and sets the tone for this project. Other than “I.M.O.W”, what was your favorite release from your “In My Own World” album? This is a great question, yet also a hard one! My next favorite track on the album would either be “Priceless Commodity”, a hip-hop track + video addressing water scarcity and the need for water conservation or “Keep My Distance”, both of which feature my good friend and frequent collaborator MayDay rapping on these records! As someone who made it a priority to share your knowledge and passion with your listeners and students, do you have any advice for anyone who might be trying to follow in your footsteps? Whether you are looking at going into a career in music, or any other industry, I encourage you to never give up doing what you love the most! Identify what you are most passionate about and what would bring you joy to do daily for work. It is possible to make a full-time living from the services/products/benefits you can provide others, using your top passions and skill sets! Gaining as much expertise as possible in one specific area, while also having a good understanding of how your expertise fits into the larger ecosystem of society and business, will give you a better chance of leveraging your knowledge as a career. It’s much better to focus on bringing value to others than to focus on getting value from others. This is easier said than done and I am still learning how to be the best musician, teacher, and overall person I can be. I still make mistakes all the time, but it’s easier to learn from the mistakes when you have clear goals of what you want to do in your life and career. What’s next for David D’Angelo, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? Yes absolutely! So first up I have two new video releases coming this fall, both are songs on my album In My Own World. The first one is “IMZ” featuring MayDay, and the other is for “Don’t Hide” featuring MayDay. Don’t Hide is a song and video I am especially excited about. It’s my first release where I am singing on both the hook and have my own verse and outro parts. Recently I have been recording more of my own vocals, and In My Own World is my first project where I have released my vocal parts on my production. You can expect more music coming out with me on vocals, including at some point a full project where I am the only vocalist! This is new territory for me, so I am excited to explore more styles and genres as an artist doing vocals, not just the producer behind the scenes! Instagram
- Ava Camille Fights The Good Fight In New Single, "Good Side"
Stepping into the spotlight with her latest single, singer-songwriter and recording artist Ava Camille offers a refreshing melody in "Good Side," a song that captures the essence of self-love and kindness. Ava Camille, a rising star from the D.C. area, infuses her music with an eclectic blend of influences thanks to a musically rich upbringing. This diversity shines through in her songwriting, which she has honed since penning her first poem at age 6. Now based in Los Angeles, Ava's embracing a newfound maturity that reflects in her sound and lyrics. Her latest single, "Good Side," is a prime example. It's one of the most radiant tracks in her discography, offering a rich blend of soulful vocals and sparkling pop energy. Co-written with Sara Mulford and Anna Schulze, who also took the reins in production, the song is an anthem for anyone struggling with self-doubt. Hitting play on "Good Side," the gentle yet comforting pop production kicks the song into gear while Ava's soothing vocals wonder if she can ever be as kind to herself as she would be to a friend. This theme is bound to resonate deeply with listeners far and wide, backed by a bright melody and catchy guitar licks that evoke a sense of optimism and possibility. The song’s structure cleverly juxtaposes its uplifting melody with lyrics that delve into the struggles of self-compassion, making "Good Side" not just a listen but an experience. If anything, it's a masterclass in weaving powerful messages through sweet pop sounds to make a timeless, relevant, and lasting impact. Experience the charm and depth of Ava Camille's latest single, "Good Side," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Ava! Your new single "Good Side" is incredibly relatable. Can you share what inspired you to write this song? This song was written thinking about all versions of myself, but specifically who I am today. I’ve come a really long way in how I choose to engage with the dialogue in my head. I do have a lot of self-love. I do believe that I can achieve my dreams. But of course, limiting beliefs are still present, and some days they’re hella loud! I think if you’re pursuing an art and trying to make it your day job, you have to have a lot of self-belief. And it’s only been in the last 3 years that I’ve heavily been pursuing music. With that comes new mental fires I’m working on putting out. I feel like we all have this good and bad side, if you will. And I still engage with the bad more than I’d like. Being in your 20s is a rollercoaster, and I’m constantly shown that it’s so easy to speak kindly to my friends and appropriately encourage them on their own journeys because to me they could move mountains. But on my own rollercoaster ride, it’s harder to give myself the same grace. So “Good Side” is really about working towards embracing for myself that same level of compassion I show to loved ones. "Good Side" blends vibrant pop melodies with very personal lyrics. How did you strike a balance between keeping it light and addressing deeper themes? To be very honest, I’m not always sure! I think every song is different and evolves and transforms in its own unique way. Sometimes you can predict the sonic outcome if you have a clear vision for your track, and then sometimes you can’t. Sometimes, you’re just along for the ride as the music twists and turns and grows into the shape it’s inevitably going to take. I think in creating “Good Side” we struck a balance between those two outcomes. Going into our sessions, I knew I wanted “Good Side” to be fun and bouncy, at the very least. But from there we let the song evolve as it intended to. Letting it evolve in a natural way, for me, can come down to letting the song breathe for a bit. Create, and then step back. We did that a few times, whether it be over the writing or production, and so I think “Good Side” ended up finding its own sweet balance. Your music has evolved significantly over the years. How do you think "Good Side" represents your current musical and personal growth? I feel that evolution too! I think in general my music is the best way to follow my personal growth. They very much mirror each other. I think “Good Side” is a song in which I’m finding my footing and embracing my authenticity. I moved to LA three years ago and to say I’ve been going through growing pains is a major understatement. Not just musically but personally, too. LA has been hard; it’s a physical and mental grind. But the access I have out here to artists of all capacities is game-changing for someone like myself. And I’ve grown so much because of it. In this song, I think the growth that shines through is the improvement in my songwriting, vocal delivery, and understanding of my overall sound. I really love this single, and I feel like it's marking an entrance into what’s to come. How did your collaboration with Sara Mulford and Anna Schulze come about for "Good Side"? What was it like working with them on this song? I’ve written with Sara a lot on other projects of mine, and I absolutely adore her and her talent. She and I work pretty well together - when we’re not laughing! We were talking one day about the differences we feel when working with male vs. female collaborators, and from that convo the desire was born to get an all female team together to work on this next song idea. Sara mentioned she had a producer in mind, so we contacted Anna. It was a very fulfilling experience to work with the both of them. Not only was it genuinely fun, we all just mesh super well together and our skills complement nicely. The environment was easy and supportive. I think we’re all genuinely excited for “Good Side” to be out, and that’s also refreshing because not every person you work with shares the same enthusiasm for your music. So when I find those collaborators who do, I’ve learned it’s a very special thing. What do you hope your listeners feel when they hear "Good Side"? What takeaway do you want them to have from this song? I love the messaging of this song because it doesn’t feel forceful to me. The song declares that one day, I’m hoping it’ll be easier to speak kinder to myself - in the ways I speak to a friend. I wanted to convey the feeling of what that freedom from self-doubt could sound like. I love the somewhat uncertain and open-ended lyrics being paired with a bright melody and sparkly guitar licks because listeners are still guided to a place of reassurance. Even though the song doesn’t present answers on how to necessarily be kind to yourself, it paints a positive feeling that one day it’s possible. It's something we should all choose to work towards for ourselves. We all deserve that comfort. Instagram Facebook
- Hillary Lewis Holds Nothing Back In Sophomore Single, “Never Met”
Emerging artist and influencer Hillary Lewis is back with her latest single, “Never Met,” an alternative-punk anthem that dives deep into the turmoil of a broken relationship. Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, Hillary Lewis has been making a name for herself as a diverse talent in the entertainment industry. With a growing presence on Instagram and TikTok, she’s not just a social media sensation but also a rising star in the music world. Her sound, influenced by the likes of Olivia Rodrigo and Beach Bunny, brings a fresh take on the pop-rock angst that resonates with many. “Never Met” is Hillary’s newest release, following her debut single “Love Spell.” This track takes listeners through the emotional whirlwind of regret and frustration that comes with the end of a relationship. The song’s high-energy, alternative-punk vibe perfectly complements the intense feelings Hillary pours into her performance. From the jump, “Never Met” captures the listener’s attention with its heavy alternative punk instrumentals and catchy melody. As the song progresses, Hillary’s powerful vocals and gripping lyrics reveal the internal conflict of wishing she had never met someone yet struggling with the lingering emotions that follow. The driving guitar riffs and punchy drums create a backdrop that amplifies the song’s emotional depth tenfold. What makes “Never Met” stand out is its ability to balance vulnerability with strength. Hillary’s delivery is both heartfelt and powerful, offering a cathartic experience for those looking to move onward and upward in their own lives. Don’t miss out on this heated new release from Hillary Lewis with her sophomore single, "Never Met," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Hillary! Your sophomore single, “Never Met,” is packed with energy and emotion. What inspired you to write this cathartic song? Hi! Thank you so much for having me! I wrote Never Met after my ex told me “they never loved me”. Hearing that hurt a lot, as it would for anyone. I immediately thought to myself, “I wish we never met”. And that’s what sparked the idea! This song has a powerful alternative-punk vibe. How did you decide on this particular style for “Never Met”? One of my favorite music genres is pop punk. I wanted Never Met to embrace the Pop style of music, but with a sharp twist on it. Can you share a bit about your songwriting process for "Never Met"? What was that experience like on a personal level? The songwriting process for Never Met was a bit difficult, because I was going through so many emotions during this time. I was brainstorming for awhile style wise and lyric wise, just playing around with ideas. I sat down with my co writer Griffith Frank and we went through all the possible ideas that made this song what it is today. The most difficult part of writing Never Met was realizing that at this point, I was so over my ex, I just didn’t care anymore. All the pain and suffering I was going through after the breakup, I was just over it at this point. And although it’s a good thing to move on, it’s still extremely painful. No one said moving on from someone you loved was ever going to be easy, and I think this song really showcases that. How does “Never Met” compare to your previous single, “Love Spell”? What’s different this time around? The main difference between Never Met and Love Spell are the lyrics and story behind the songs. Never Met was definitely more of a personal song, compared to Love Spell which was a fun Halloween style song. Love Spell was the first single I released, and I absolutely love it, but Never Met, the story behind that just hits me at a different level. What do you hope listeners take away from “Never Met,” especially those who might be going through a similar situation? I hope listeners understand the meaning behind it, and know that breakups hurt, but they do get better with time. I don’t think I will ever be 100% healed from this breakup that the song is about, or any breakup, but the pain gets a bit better each day, and eventually it does get easier to deal with. When I wrote Never Met, I was so done with being hurt all the time, not just in the moment of healing from the breakup but also during the relationship. I wasn’t treated right when I was dating this person, they weren’t mean to me or anything like that, but they didn’t give me the time of day, and I cared so deeply about them. In the song, I literally scream “I wish we never met”. But I hope listeners understand that relationships teach you something, and I now know that I have a lot that I took away from this relationship and it’s actually helped me become a better and stronger person. We loved your latest release “getting in my way”, as soon as we heard it we knew we had to ask! What was the inspiration behind this release, and how did it feel hearing the completed version for the first time? Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that "getting in my way" resonated with you. The inspiration for this track came from a really personal place. It reflects a moment in my life where I was grappling with self-doubt and the feeling of being my own biggest obstacle. I wanted to capture the frustration of those moments when you know what you’re capable of but somehow keep holding yourself back. Hearing the completed version for the first time was incredibly powerful. It was like I had taken all those emotions and transformed them into something tangible with the help of my insanely talented creative team. The song not only encapsulates that internal struggle but also serves as a reminder of the strength that comes from pushing through. It was a mix of relief, pride, and excitement to finally hear it all come together. What inspired you to take that initial step to start pursuing music seriously, and what motivates you to make music now? The turning point for me was definitely when I was a contestant on KPOP Star Season 3. That experience opened my eyes to the possibilities within music and really solidified my passion for it. Being on that stage, feeling the energy from the audience, and realizing that music could be more than just a hobby—it could be a career—was the push I needed to start pursuing it seriously. Now, my motivation comes from a mix of things. On one hand, I’m driven by the desire to represent and uplift the AAPI community and third-culture kids like myself who often feel like they don't fit neatly into one box. I want to create music that speaks to them, that makes them feel seen and heard. On the other hand, music has always been my way of processing emotions and experiences, so I’m motivated by the need to express myself and share those stories with others. What are you most excited about for the rest of the year? I'm really excited about the release of my upcoming 3-part EP, which is titled after my artist name, ábi. This project is deeply personal, and it's been such a journey putting it together. Each part of the EP—á-side, B-side, and I-side—explores different aspects of my experiences, from rethinking my artist identity to embracing my cultural duality and reflecting on the growth I've experienced along the way. I’m also looking forward to connecting more with my listeners through live performances and seeing how the new music resonates with them. It feels like this year is all about embracing who I am as an artist and sharing that journey with the world, and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds. If your fans could take one thing away from your music, what would you want it to be? If there's one thing I want my fans to take away from my music, it's the feeling of being understood and empowered. I want them to know that it's okay to be in-between, to feel like you don't quite fit in, or to struggle with your own doubts. My music is about embracing those complexities and finding strength in them. I hope my songs can be a source of comfort and inspiration, reminding listeners that their experiences, no matter how unique or challenging, are valid and valuable. Ultimately, I want them to feel seen and encouraged to embrace their true selves. What’s next for ábi, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? Next up, I'm focusing on the release of my 3-part EP and getting it out to the world. I'm also planning some live performances to connect with everyone in person, which I'm really excited about. If you’re in the LA area, I’ll be playing at Bar Lubitsch on September 12 with We Found New Music, but if you can’t make it to that one, I’ll also be playing Breaking Sound at Adults Only on October 6! I’d love to see you there and make some new friends :) Beyond that, I'm always working on new music and exploring different sounds and ideas, so there's definitely more to come. To my fans, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support means everything to me, and it drives me to keep creating. - NUMBFLOWER Tears Themselves Away From You On Their New Release “Lead”
No amount of words will bring back what was lost. With their raw, emotive vocals and powerful, driving instrumental backdrops, Long Island’s NUMBFLOWER have quickly made a name for themselves with their gripping releases. Skillfully balancing the essence of 90s grunge with channeling the introspective angst of 2000s emo, they’ve created creating a sound that resonates deeply with the disenchanted and the hopeful alike. As they continue to solidify their place in the scene, iconic release after iconic release, these stars in the making are just barely hitting their stride. Formed in 2023 by Dj Deane and Dan LeBrun, NUMBFLOWER is the product of a creative evolution that began in the ashes of their previous project, Hold Fast Hope. After crafting the initial tracks with producer Nicholas Starrantino, the duo expanded to include Nick DiMarco on drums and Tom Martins on bass, solidifying their lineup and musical direction. Drawing influence from modern acts like Movements and Title Fight while paying homage to grunge icons Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots, NUMBFLOWER draws influence from the past while still looking to the future, at least sonically. For fans of the grunge-emo aesthetic, the beginning of NUMBFLOWER’s latest release, “Lead,” immediately draws you into nostalgic territory. The rousing guitar play is punctuated by accentuated drums, providing an introspective yet comforting soundscape that's easy to get swept away in. “Lead” also features Brian Dowling (Prairie Fire) on vocals, who had this to say about the release: “When I first listened to the track, it reminded me of a spiral - each voice playing their part, singing a siren song into the void to one another that the other could not comprehend.” Somewhere, communication has broken down, and ultimately, “Lead” teaches us that sometimes, we have to let people we love go, even if it’s hard at the moment. NUMBFLOWER’s latest release, “Lead,” is a nostalgic, powerful, and yet oddly comforting release that captivates with both sound and lyrical messages.
