The lyrics of "Outlaws" evoke a sense of freedom and resistance. How important is it for you to use your music as a platform for empowerment and self-expression? Hello! It is very important for us. As a painter would use different colors & strokes to evoke different moods and passion, our melodies and lyrics take the listener to those places.  The guitarist, Vasilios, and I, the singer & lyricist, both see music in images and waves of rainbow tone. When we write, we almost immediately see a scene. We envisioned the setting for 'Outlaws' as a desert with sepia tones, blacks and reds, and a driving sense of urgency and a battle. It wasn't a battle between good and evil, but between two rivaling villains, which we thought would be A LOT of fun, especially if there was a hint of some romantic backstory.  To have that fight scene was empowering for us because we both do martial arts, and it was a chance for us to use those forms of artistic skill with our music and tell this story of the 'Outlaws.' Your influences range from Led Zeppelin to Soundgarden. How have these legendary bands shaped your approach to songwriting and performance? Both bands are ace at either bringing you way up or way down. One minute I'm dancing, and the next, I want to slit my wrists. Zeppelin and Soundgarden have both mastered the skill of taking the listener into their joy or heartache, and that's definitely something we strive to do in our songwriting.  We want to show off our skills as musicians, of course, with masterful guitar solos and killer vocals, but it's also about finding the pockets and bringing that soul up from the lowest part of your gut. We don't want to perform as robots. We want it to be organic and want the listener to feel whatever inspired those riffs and lyrics. The production of "Outlaws" has a gritty yet polished feel. Can you please share some insights into the recording process and how you achieved the track’s distinct sound? First and foremost, we are a rock band, so we welcome the grit! We definitely fall into the musical category of 'post-grunge.' Honey Trap loves a raspy, sexy vocal part with some high howls, and we eat up a fat, distorted guitar line. Honey Trap is also about crisp, smooth edges. We don't like to muddy the sound so much that you can't hear the notes or scream the lyrics so that you can't hear the words. We like that 'James Bond' femme fatale elegance, dark but chic. As a female-fronted band in the hard rock scene, what challenges have you faced, and how have these experiences influenced your music and your journey as an artist? Gratefully, I can say I've never faced any challenges as a female rock singer. Being a woman has made it much easier to stand out in the rock music scene. I come from a musical theater background, so I can project to the back of the house without a mic. A couple of years ago, a woman in the audience came up to me after a show and said, "You had more balls on that stage than any of the male singers tonight. I grew up with a lot of guy friends. I didn't wear make-up, blow dry my hair, or care what handbag matched my shoes until I was prob 21 and living in NYC. I curse like a sailor and have the sense of humor of a 10-year-old boy, but I also have a warm smile, Texas manners, and a sweet 'Honey' voice, so doors have always opened. I don't play coy, but I also don't play the dude. I see myself as very powerful but not masculine, and I never want to be seen as such because I love being a woman. I embrace my curves and use my natural feminine charm to lure in the audience, male and female. I've totally been asked to sign boobies after a gig. How do you think your music speaks to the current social climate, and what role do you see rock music playing in today’s world? I hope our music encourages more female musicians to go into rock. I don't want girls to be shy about expressing themselves in a bit more raw, gritty way. I want them to see that lyrics can be deeper and more heartfelt than pop or bubble gum. I think I speak for all members of Honey Trap when I say we want the listener to have fun! We have ballads, but most of our songs are upbeat and heavy-hitting rockers. In this phase of my life and career, I'm all about transparency. Talking about my real life and experiences. The human experience is a shared one and I try to envoke that in my music. We love how this track reflects your diverse influences. Can you please walk us through your creative process when crafting a track like this? With this song in particular, it was the production that brought the idea and momentum for the record. I thought it was catchy and bumping, and I just wanted to match the energy. My two homies, Arn and Crispin, really did their thing, which makes it all that much easier for me. "ANS" feels deeper than just surface-level bravado. How do you ensure that your music stays authentic and meaningful, even when it’s upbeat? Just making sure everything comes from a true place. I think I always try to deliver an undertone of a message, but for the most part with a song like this you're just trying to make a vibe. As an artist carving out your place in the hip-hop landscape, what legacy do you hope to leave behind, and how do you see your music evolving in the future? I haven't really thought about legacy. I think my goal right now is to make a name for myself, be respected, and stay true to myself. I was just in a place of loneliness and feeling conflicted about it because I finally had a level of self love which I always wanted, and good friendships around but still felt like that particular type of intimacy was missing and wasn’t sure why it was so hard for me - someone with a lot of love - to find it. It was quite a dark time but I’m over it now luckily haha. "Forever Valentine" has such a distinctive sound, blending elements of city pop with modern vibes. Can you share more about how you developed this unique sound and style? Yes so I could’ve just left it as an acoustic sad song but I thought it would be cool to add some drums in anyway to give it a bit of a groove. My first single “Mona Lisa” was very city pop influenced so this second single was more of a chilled back vibe.  The narrative that "Forever Valentine" is part of is super intriguing. What inspired you to delve into the concept of a time-traveling girl who finds her mother’s old journals? Ah yes thank you it’s quite an interesting narrative but basically each single I release in the Rosaic world follows a story of a time travelling girl watching her mother go through these heartbreaks and life experiences, and she’s watching them and experiencing these emotions through her journal and songs but she can’t intervene with the timeline - I wanted something to do something really creative with my music - make it all Art, like an anime almost. So the girl you see on the single covers is the time travelling daughter and she is holding the journal and wearing headphones and she is scattered around different cities in the world. Life imitates art, this could happen one day in the future - someone I know could find all my journals and read all my stories. I was playing on the idea of that. What was the creative process like for developing the music and lyrics for "Forever Valentine"? Were there any particular challenges you faced during this process? I had the chorus written first but honestly the verses were hardest to write. My producer Adam had to help me think of a melody but once we got the electric guitar out the lyrics started pouring out. What do you hope listeners take away from "Forever Valentine"? Is there a particular message or feeling you want to evoke through this song? I hope people out there can relate to it and know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, the truth is, whilst we’re looking for that “forever valentine” we forget that we are our OWN forever valentines. The longest relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself so it’s important to nurture that and look after yourself, and know that even in your lowest moments you are still loved. But his strongest affiliation is something a little more leftfield. After watching football with his grandfather as a youngster, Snoop has been a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Bruce Dickinson A while ago a common pub quiz question concerned Bruce Dickinson’s many activities away from the stage. The long-time Iron Maiden frontman surprised many fans and non-fans alike by becoming a licensed pilot and has also been involved in a number of other ventures including writing and even brewing beer.   When it comes to sports, soccer is Dickinson’s game but he professes not to support any one team in particular. Eddie Vedder Let’s come back over the Atlantic and investigate the sporting leanings of Pearl Jam singer, Eddie Vedder. Coming up through the Southern California rock scene, it might be expected that Vedder rooted for one of the big LA teams, or even the Padres as he lived in San Diego as a child.   But before Vedder became something on the West Coast, he was just a little kid in Illinois and that is why he is still a huge Chicago Cubs fan to this day. He is well known for singing songs at the game, as well as the National Anthem, and even once got into a brawl with former White Sox pitcher Jack McDowell in a bar in New Orleans. Flea The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist might have been born in Australia and lived in New York as a young child, but it was when his parents settled in California in his teens that Flea began his love affair with the Los Angeles Lakers. Apparently, he also likes the Rams of the NFL and baseball’s Dodgers.   But it is the basketball court where Flea is most happiest (when he isn’t performing in front of thousands of rock fans, of course). He has held a season ticket since the late 1980s and can regularly be spotted courtside when not on tour, He has even performed a bass-only version of the national anthem before a game and has written songs in honor of a number of famous Lakers. Jon Bon Jovi As a New Jersey native, the leader singer of Bon Jovi should really be either a Giants or Jets fan. But it was after a meeting with legendary New England coach Bill Belichick at a Giants game that Jon Bon Jovi started getting behind the Patriots and he is now a fully-fledged supporter of the Massachusetts-based team.   Bon Jovi is a big football fan and even owned a team in the Arena Football League and   once tried to buy the Buffalo Bills . But it is the Pats that hold the dearest place in his heart. He has performed a number of times in the home stadium and even owns two New England Patriots Super Bowl rings. Elton John  When you are a multi-millionaire rock star as well as a sports fan you should probably put your money where your mouth is – and that is exactly what Elton John has done. A fan of Watford soccer club as child, once Elton had made his first millions, he became chairman and director of the club and ploughed cash into the team.   The small team from the outskirts of London made it to the very top of the English soccer pyramid and Elton has since sold – and then re-bought – the club. His lifelong devotion and financial aid were repaid in 2014 when the club named part of the stadium The Sir Elton John Stand. Each track on Hear Me Out carries its own unique message. How did you choose the themes for each song, considering they had to relate to the album's core concept? The first song I wrote for the album was “Quiet,” and the lyric, “I don’t have to use my voice for you to hear me out,” gave me a whole concept idea for my new album. Once I had the title, I began reflecting on my life and recent experiences that I have kept to myself. Various emotions, situations, and realizations bubbled to the surface, and I plunged into the songwriting process with the intent of opening up about things I never had before. The core themes of the songs can be heard in the lyrics, almost like direct statements: I’m introverted, so what? There’s a name for indirectly killing my vibe. Why don’t you go and look it up? It’s passive-aggressive. I’m loudest when I’m quiet. If you really cared, you’d make time the way that I make time for you. You can’t rain on my parade. There’s fire in my veins. Don’t wish away your future of yesterday. I t ’s kinda hard having a kind heart. Every day is made up of different colors ‘cause life’s a kaleidoscope. The tracklist shows my acceptance of who I am as an introvert, the way I spoke up about toxic situations, deep reflection on kindness and being present, and finally, the realization that life is like a kaleidoscope, ever-changing. Also, fun fact: the first lyric on the album is “I love butterflies, but I’m not the social kind,” and the last track is “Kaleidoscope,” which is what a group of butterflies is called. Since butterflies are a huge part of my brand, I’m always finding creative ways to draw symbolism into my songwriting journey. “Kind Heart” in Hear Me Out  has already received ample recognition. What was the process like creating this beautiful ballad? “Kind Heart” is one of my favorite songs I have ever written and definitely one of the most vulnerable. One day, I was doing a lot of reflecting on the challenges that come along with being kind, and the chorus immediately popped into my head. If it’s true that kindness doesn’t cost a thing, Then why do I feel like I’ve spent everything? They say being nice goes a long way, But a thousand miles wouldn’t change how it’s kinda hard having a kind heart. After I wrote the song, I took a lot of time to compose the piano accompaniment. With my classical music background, it was important for me to capture the song’s emotion in the accompaniment. When I was recording in the studio, I kept playing it until I got it exactly how I wanted in one take. I have to give a huge shoutout to my wonderful flutist, Anna O’Malley. As soon as I recorded the piano and vocals for “Kind Heart,” I knew I wanted flute on the song. Anna brought her magic to the ballad, and I truly can’t thank her enough for being part of “Kind Heart.” I’m so glad I released “Kind Heart” as the album’s lead single. This is a very special one to me, and it will always be a favorite. How does Hear Me Out  reflect your growth as an artist since your debut album, Dear Diary ? As I mentioned earlier, I have experienced a huge evolution. When I wrote and recorded Dear Diary , I was new to songwriting and being an artist. For that reason, there was a self-discovery aspect to the album. I was also dealing with a lot of insecurities and difficult emotions at the time, so Dear Diary  is a very reflective and introspective project. Hear Me Out  couldn’t be more polar opposite. I have grown so much as a songwriter, artist, and person since my debut days. Since I write authentically, my new music naturally reflects my evolution. Over the years, I have developed my skills as a songwriter, discovered my sound, learned production alongside my amazing producer, Bob McCutcheon, and, most importantly, became more confident in myself as a whole. I’ll always love Dear Diary , though, because without that album, I wouldn’t have been able to get to where I am now. What do you hope your listeners take away from Hear Me Out ? What emotions or thoughts do you want to leave them with? I would love my Butterflies to feel empowered to use their voices. Everyone deserves to be heard and understood, and it would be incredible if my choice to speak my mind on the album inspires others to do the same. I kept things bottled up for a long time, but now, I’m turning to my music to share my story. We all have a voice for a reason, and it takes strength and courage to use it fully. Now that I have used mine on this album, there’s no going back.

We're head over heels for the depth and energy of your debut album, Go Be Free . How does it feel to release your debut album with such a rich musical heritage behind you? I feel truly honored. I remember growing up in music, looking up to great musicians all around New Orleans and thinking, “One day, that’s gonna be me. One day, I’ll be getting on the plane in New Orleans and getting off the plane in Brazil. One day, they’ll write about me and ask me questions.” It was a big dream for the youngest of a family full of musicians. But I remember asking my dad, “Can I go with you?” And before crossing the terminal gate, he’d say, “One day, you’ll be going for yourself.” Now I look back and think of my journey and how I got here, and I have the opportunity to put it into an album with so much of who I am. It’s a fantastic feeling. How did you approach balancing traditional blues with modern sounds throughout the recording process for Go Be Free ? I have to say that I really looked into who I am. I’m what some may call an “old soul.” I love the way that music from the past feels. From the moment it hits my ears to the moment I’m dancing and singing along, I love the feeling it gives me. I also find a unique quality in modern sounds. We say phrases and little quips that really make modern music special in its own way. So I took the knowledge of the people who have taught me and the experience of musicians who’ve come before me and mixed it with the feeling being 25 in 2024. I tried to write with the expression that came in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, while still giving a modern performance of it. Can you tell us more about your collaboration with Kingfish and what it was like working together for his feature on Go Be Free? Kingfish and I collaborated through our mutual producer, co-writer, and friend, Tom Hambridge. Tom and I were in Nashville writing “Worried About The Young,” The topic for this upcoming album was “Who would the feature be?” So we said, “Wouldn’t it be crazy if we had Kingfish on this song? I mean, he’s the same age as me, and he’s amazing and has this high energy in his sound!” That’s when Tom Hambridge turned to me and said, “Well, I work with Kingfish. I produced and wrote on his last few albums. I can ask if he’d be interested.” And from there, one night, I went on Instagram and saw Tom Hambridge’s story captioned, “Just recorded with Kingfish in New Orleans!” I ran to my dad and said, “I think Kingfish just recorded on Worried About the Young.” Sure enough, we got an email the next day saying, “Here’s Kingfish’s tracks on Worried! I hope you love them!” And they were AMAZING! It was a good feeling to know that not only did Kingfish take the time to hear the song, but he acknowledged that it was worth being a part of, and this was happening while he was touring and doing all of these major promotions with Fender and Jack Daniels. He took that time to put his touch on my song. That was special. On a more personal note, which song from Go Be Free is your favorite and why? I think my favorite song is “I’ve Been There.” I remember trying to find an approach to singing this one, and I thought of my grandfather. I thought of all of the conversations we’ve had over the years. I thought of his favorite thing to tell me, “Just keep living. I never thought I’d reach the age where I couldn’t do the things I wanted to do. But you learn in time. Just keep living.” That made the song mean even more to me, and when I hear it, I get a little reminder of his prerogative. What do you want listeners to experience when hitting play on Go Be Free ? What do you want them to feel? I want listeners to feel the blues. I don’t just mean the downs of life. Not “My baby left me” or “I just can’t catch a break.” I want them to feel EVERY emotion life has to offer. I want them to feel the urge to run and dance and smile and laugh. I want each song to remind everyone who hears it that they’re still here, no matter how hard life may get. There’s still a world of feelings and experiences to look forward to. On all 12 tracks, I tried to give a different experience that is like a guide to living. Through the happiness, sadness, anger, love, and crazy ways that life comes at you, these songs work like a soundtrack. If even one person feels that way, I think I’ll consider my job done well.
