Giselle's vocal performance is the standout element, showcasing her range as she effortlessly switches between sultry verses and powerful choruses. Ready to add some bite to your playlist? Sink your teeth into Giselle's new single, "Vampire," now available on all major streaming platforms. We appreciate the spooky feel of "Vampire" this time of year. What inspired you to create a Halloween-themed dance track? Thanks for having me back! 'Tis the season, right?! I am a huge horror/Halloween person, so it only felt right to make another Halloween-themed song. I have one from years ago, and it felt like it was time to make one that's even more fun! Your musical background is quite diverse. How did you approach blending your various influences into this electronic house sound? Thank you! I have always believed in sharing all of my musical backgrounds! It's fun to try new genres and revisit old ones. This is a great question. In order to blend my various influences and sounds, I made sure to throw signature things into the song still. For example, there are certain things I love to do vocally in a song, even if it's just background vocals for people to notice, and then they're like, "Yup, this is a Giselle song." Even at the end of this song, I included the "ahhs" to pay homage to my original training in opera! The lyrics of "Vampire" paint a vivid picture. Can you tell us more about the story you're telling in this song? I'm so glad the lyrics did that! To share more in-depth, I was heavily inspired to write this song because I have always been a fan of Vampires! I loved shows like The Vampire Diaries and True Blood growing up. I was a huge Twilight fan as a kid, and I still am. NO SHAME IN THAT! HAHA. I also remember seeing Blacula for the first time when I was young, as well as Vampira (Old Dracula), and it made me so happy to see people like me as Vampires. To see representation. So, I wanted to keep that representation going. It's not often we see Black Vampires as the center focus of horror films or horror-inspired music videos. To paint more of a picture, this Vampire (played by me) is a ripper. If you've watched TVD or you know about the lore of vampires, it's believed that some cannot really control their hunger, or they choose to "turn off" their emotional switch. My vampire has done just that. She lures you in, even though you know something's wrong... you can't really figure it out UNTIL it's too late! This vampire craves love, but her hunger doesn't allow it. Even the people she has fallen in love with don't last very long. She can't hide from her truth, from her secret. She's a vampire... and you're going to DIE! How does "Vampire" stand out from your previous releases? I would say this song stands out for many reasons. One, I was just having a blast the entire time. Not to say I don't have a blast with my other songs! But some of my other songs are emotionally heavy. This song wasn't. It was just written because of a pure love of horror and vampires. I even got to make my directorial debut with this music video! My entire vision was brought to life exactly as I saw it. That's a dream come true! I think Vampire also stands out because it's a track that makes you want to dance! I think it's beyond just a Halloween song, but a song that will get played year-round due to how enjoyable it feels! What was your favorite part about creating such a fun, powerful song like "Vampire?" Which parts of the process did you enjoy most? I have so many favorite parts... One of them was working in the studio with my producer, Jordan. I told him what I wanted and explained that I wanted the sound to be like an 80s synth-pop type of instrumental. He provided that! While we worked together, I even asked if we could have sound effects of people screaming in the background (which you hear), and it was so much fun! At the start of the songs, there's this sound of a "neck being ripped," which is so gross but so cool, haha! It really sells the song. There's also a cool sound effect of a sword at the bridge, which we used for the creepy impact and to provide the listener with a cue that the song would transition back into the chorus! My other favorite part of creating this was filming the video with an awesome team, Dark Crown Films! They respected and understood my vision perfectly, and it was so much fun to direct camera motions, actors, and more! As I said before, to see my vision come to life spot on was a real treat! Lastly, I'd say writing this song was so fun because it easily came to me. I had just finished an episode of TVD (I'm rewatching for what I think is the 50th time, haha), and I went into my music room and just sat down and wrote down this storyline. It all came together perfectly! Artist Website Instagram

Find the new album now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome back to Buzz, Jiggy Bars! We're loving the personal growth journey in Reconstruction. What inspired you to create such an introspective album? This album was inspired by my growth and life transitions—becoming a father and getting into a new career. I fully embrace myself and my journey, not skipping over the hard things in life. A motto that I live by as an artist is you cannot separate your life from your art, meaning that my life is my art, and that's how I view it. This album dug deep into who I am as a man in this beautiful struggle we call life. Which song from Reconstruction is your personal favorite and why? Can you tell us more about what that song means to you? It's really hard to choose a favorite, but I would have to go with Family Business. I felt like the song was so powerful, having my daughter's vocals on it. I'll always be able to look back at that moment, but the delivery and passion behind my lyrics make the song resonate with others. We love your collaboration with Chairman Allen on "Blackness." How did this partnership come about, and what was your main goal with this song? Chairman Allen is my blood brother. We've been making music together since 2015. My main goal for the song was to express my cultural awareness and also bring real hip-hop vibes. I already knew my brother Allen would bring the perfect energy! I also got the perfect voiceover for the intro and outro by my brother Lucky XL. How is Reconstruction different from your 7-track 2023 album, Veracity? Veracity was the spiritual awakening! Reconstruction is the application Veracity was super revolutionary, and that album was created during my journey working with Healthy Hood Chicago. Reconstruction was a year-long process, and I applied so many things I learned to my own life and family, fully embracing my past, present, and future. The lyrics matured, and I emotionally tapped into a deep place and took listeners on a ride in reconstruction. I felt like I took the time to perfect my craft, and I sat with these songs for a long time, knowing the album would be incredible. Reconstruction also took it to the next level regarding production, storytelling, and features. As a community architect in the music scene, how do you hope Reconstruction will impact your listeners and fellow artists? I hope reconstruction will inspire creatives to set a standard with their art. I hope my vulnerability will motivate others to do so with their art. I hope this album proves you can make good, catchy, fun music that slaps while still talking about real-life situations and triumphs. Music doesn't have to be dumbed down, and it shouldn't be, we need art like this for the culture for the young boys and girls that fall victim of a toxic culture that promotes all the wrong things.

  • Drey’s New Single “Love of Your Life” Captures Hearts Everywhere

Alabama-born singer-songwriter Drey brings a fresh blend of pop and country to the music scene with her latest single, "Love Of Your Life." This rising star has been gaining popularity with her unique sound that draws inspiration from icons like Fleetwood Mac and Taylor Swift. Drey's ability to craft relatable lyrics and catchy melodies has set her apart in the competitive world of pop-country music, and she's showing no signs of slowing down. Her newest single, "Love Of Your Life," is a direct reflection of her passion and drive for crafting irresistible tunes. It's a vibrant and uplifting anti-love song—a perfect example of Drey's talent for blending modern pop sensibilities with timeless songwriting. Jumping into "Love Of Your Life," we're met with an energetic blend of electronic and organic instruments. Drey's vocals soar over a backdrop of pulsing beats and electric guitar riffs while describing the feelings that come with not getting over someone special. The production strikes a perfect balance, giving the song a contemporary edge while maintaining the warmth of a classic pop tune. Drey's lyrics paint a vivid picture of love gone wrong, but in the most euphoric way possible. Her words are both relatable and fantastical, almost similar to Chappell Roan's sound but drenched in elements that make it entirely Drey. The chorus is particularly infectious, with a hook that's bound to get stuck in your head after just one listen. It's the kind of song that makes you want to roll down the windows and sing at the top of your lungs. Ready to fall in love with a new pop anthem? Find Drey's "Love Of Your Life" on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Drey! We adore the uplifting feel of your new single, "Love Of Your Life." What inspired you to write such a powerful anti-love song? I absolutely adore songs that feel like riding in a car with the windows down, and that feeling inspired this song! I wanted to create a carefree vibe, and based on past relationships, it came out as an anti-love anthem.  What was your songwriting process like for "Love Of Your Life"? What message or story did you want to get across? This song was written in two days and really kind of fell out on the page! Once we had the initial melody, it was just playing around with ways to convey the “I’m good on my own” feeling. The production of "Love Of Your Life" is fantastic. Can you tell us about the process of creating the track's vibrant sound? The production is pretty much solely thanks to my husband, Ed Thrower. I brought him a chord progression and some ideas, and he took them and ran. We wanted to imitate Chappell Roan’s sound with our own twist and found that 80s synths were the way to go. Everything was done in Logic and in our home studio. You've mentioned being influenced by artists like Fleetwood Mac and Taylor Swift. How do these inspirations come through in "Love Of Your Life?" I draw inspiration from both Taylor's and Fleetwood’s writing. Catchy hooks, play-on-words, and catty phrases are some of my favorite things to use. If listeners could take one thing away from "Love Of Your Life," what would you want that to be? This song truly is all about self-love and having fun. Lyrically and melodically, the track is just fun to listen to, and I think that stems from how exciting it was to make. Instagram

Jim Peterik is not one to rest on his laurels, and the best is yet to come. Peterik’s latest release, “American Dreamer,” sees the maestro return to familiar territory. It’s got all the hallmarks of vintage Peterik greatness, with an instrumental performance brought to life by thunderous drums and iconic soaring guitar riffs. Peterik is joined on “American Dreamer” by vocalist Dave Mikulskis, who turns in an inspired vocal performance, with lyrics like “American dreamer / May you shine like a star / American dreamer / Like the galaxy you are” making this release incredibly freeing to sing along to. There’s a sense of romance in the endless possibilities life in America can bring you. It’s the land of infinite opportunities, and in “American Dreamer,” Jim Peterik continues to capture this sensation. Welcome to Buzz, Jim Peterik! We loved “American Dreamer.” What a beautiful dose of nostalgia that was! For this and your other releases, we wanted to ask what your biggest source of inspiration is. That’s a great question! As John Miles quoted in the lyric for his song “Music” (produced by the Great Alan Parsons in the 1970s), “Music is my first love, and it will be my last—music from the future and Music from the past. In this world of trouble, my music gets me through.” For someone who’s had so many iconic experiences and moments in the industry already, what’s your fondest music-related memory? I’ll never forget my band, The Ides of March, opening for Led Zepplin just after our song "Vehicle" hit number one. After the show, Robert Plant invited us 19-year-olds to our first rock' n'roll party! As someone who’s already accomplished so much, what goals or changes do you want to achieve through your music? I’d like to inspire positivity, the joy of being on this earth together, and the making of the most of every day. What inspired you to take that initial step to seriously pursue music, and what motivates you to make music now? Initially, we emulated our favorite groups and artists. The first song we ever played was Hound Dog by Elvis Presley. Then came the Ventures. Then, of course, the Beatles. Then, we started writing our own songs, combining all those elements with our own creative spin. What’s next for Jim Peterik, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? It always blows me away when someone comes up to me and tells me how much my music was like the soundtrack of their life. Their stories always inspire me to create the kind of song that will outlive you and me. Timeless melodies and words you can dance to. Rock on!! Facebook

  • Your Touch Sets Lara Villani Alight on Her New Release “Fire”

When you love someone, even the smallest moments feel like bliss. Having gotten her first taste of the stage performing at school with her best friend Aaron, things have come full circle for emerging pop-rock star Lara Villani. Following the emotional depth and pop-rock edge of her previous releases, her new release, “Fire,” marks a breathtaking evolution in Villani’s sound. The talented songstress is leaning into her tastes, the latest step in her journey to craft her unique artistic identity. We’ll let you be the judge of the sound she’s landed on, but after hearing “Fire,” we can’t wait to hear what else she has in store. Villani’s musical roots run deep. Having been exposed to the transformative power of music from an early age, she would start taking piano and vocal lessons under her cherished mentor, Margaret Hunt. Her passion for performance bloomed through guitar, an exploration of blues and rock and roll, and performing with her friend, Aaron, as mentioned earlier. Fittingly, as she prepares for the next chapter of her artistic evolution, Aaron joins her once more to perform renditions of Villani’s music. From the first second, the atmospheric instrumentals of “Fire” add a dreamy, slightly bedroom pop feel to the release, setting the stage for Villani to fully immerse yourself in her ethereal soundscape. Her vocal performance is elegant, resolute, and incredibly breathtaking, with lyrics like “You walked into my life, the feeling just so right / the way you touch sets me alight” cutting deep. Despite the intimate feel of her vocal performance, the lyrics for “Fire” speak to universal experiences, showcasing Villani’s rare ability to balance her sound with experiences that her listeners can all relate to. Lara Villani continues to add to her already impressive music legacy with each release. “Fire” marks a bold departure from her previous sound, but it’s more than paid off. What was the inspiration behind this release, and how much do you draw from personal experiences when creating your releases? Thank you for having me, Buzz! “Fire” is a song about a passionate and fiery relationship—one of those connections you can’t ignore. From the moment this person walked into your life, you knew it was right, even though there’s a sense of danger because that connection could hurt. But the passion and love are too powerful to resist. When I brought the idea to my producer, I wanted to create something that I enjoy and could even add to my daily playlist. While I love my first two singles, the writing process for “Fire” felt less emotionally taxing because it’s about a universal experience rather than something deeply personal. It was fun to write and capture that intense energy in the song. Who would your dream collaboration be, and why? Wow, this question is harder than I thought! My vocal inspiration and the reason I started singing has always been Adele, so I would have to say, Adele. However, as an artist, I go through phases with new artists who keep me inspired and help me continuously develop my own artistry. It’s tough to pick just one because every artist I listen to brings something unique, but Adele will always hold a special place in my heart for sparking my passion for singing. What’s your fondest music-related memory? My fondest music memory goes back to when I was six years old. I sang "Big Girls Don’t Cry" by Fergie at my primary school talent show, and I remember being on stage, singing my heart out. From that moment, I knew music would be in my life forever. It was a defining moment for me—a real turning point where I realized just how much I loved performing and how I loved that feeling on stage. What’s usually your biggest source of motivation when you make your music, and as an extension of that, what does music mean to you? Honestly, I make music because it simply makes me happy. Writing lyrics is my way of escaping, and it makes me feel fulfilled—it fills my cup. There’s no better place for me than in the studio, especially when I’m writing and collaborating with my producer, Steve. When a song comes together piece by piece, it feels like creating a work of art and hearing it come to life lights up my soul. I know that sounds super cheesy, but it’s true! What’s next for Lara Villani, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? I’ve got some exciting things coming up! I’ll be doing more live performances, including my single launch on October 17th at Night Hawks, which I can’t wait for. I’m also working hard on my EP, set to release in 2025. To my fans, I want to thank you for all the love and support you’ve shown me so far. You’ve been with me on this journey, and your energy and encouragement keep me going. Every message, every listen—it means the world to me. I can’t wait to share more music with you and grow together. Instagram Facebook

  • Sanaz Pens Her Life Story In A Stunning Debut EP, 'Chapters'

Iranian-American singer-songwriter and pop recording artist Sanaz unveils her heartfelt debut EP, 'Chapters,' a 6-track journey through the pages of her life. Based in Los Angeles, Sanaz brings a unique flavor to the pop scene, blending her classical opera training with authentic storytelling. Her music is infused with cultural richness, and it's already gained international recognition with songs like "In The Name Of God" featured on Iranian International TV and Spotify's "Women of Iran" playlist. 'Chapters marks Sanaz's official entry into the music world, offering listeners a vulnerable collection of songs that explore love, loss, and personal growth. Each track represents a different stage in her life, creating a musical autobiography that is the perfect introduction to this pop powerhouse. The EP opens with "Our Little Home," a warm, inviting track that feels like a blanket of comfort beside the fire in a house you can proudly call home. It's a sweet ballad that leads into track two, "Three Steps," a beautifully melancholic breakup anthem that chills us to the bone with Sanaz's gentle vocals and equally tender instrumentals. Midway through the EP, "Mirror" ups the energy with a smooth electric guitar and tender bass licks—but Sanaz's lyrical content is much deeper. It's another look into the toll a relationship can take when toxicity enters the chat. "Rest" provides a gentle reprieve, peeking into Sanaz's relatable experience of seeking rest, a deep breath, and anything to get this weight off her chest. As the EP nears its conclusion, "Hold On" emerges as a standout track. Its serene acoustic guitar alongside Sanaz's stunning vocals make this a deeply immersive listening experience—reminding herself to cherish moments with special people, even the sad ones. In the outro track, "Just Another Chapter," Sanaz takes what started as a melancholic breakup tune and turns it into an anthem for hope. "It's not the end of my book; it's just another chapter,” she sings. It's empowering and bittersweet and serves all the emotions felt in a disastrous breakup. Turn the pages of these compelling 'Chapters' with Sanaz's debut 6-track EP, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Sanaz! Congratulations on releasing your debut EP, Chapters. What inspired you to structure this project around life’s different stages? Thank you so much! Chapters really came from my own journey of reflecting on the ups and downs I’ve experienced. I’ve always seen life as a series of moments. Each chapter has its own lessons and emotions. Some chapters are filled with joy and excitement; others are more challenging, but they all shape who we are. I wanted to capture that in this EP, not just to tell my story but to create something others could relate to, no matter where they are in their own lives. “Just Another Chapter” from Chapters evolved from a sad ballad to an uplifting anthem. Can you walk us through that transformation process? “Just Another Chapter” was originally written during a really tough time. It was slow, heavy, and full of heartache. But when I brought it to the studio, my producer Ronny made me see it in a completely different light. He encouraged me to step back and look at the bigger picture, reminding me that even the hard parts of life are temporary and lead to something new. That shift in perspective changed everything. We reworked the song, and it started to feel more hopeful. It was a reminder that no matter what you’re going through, it’s just another chapter, and better days are ahead. It was such a personal and healing process for me, and I think that’s why the song evolved the way it did. Your background in opera is impressive. How has that classical training influenced your approach to pop music? My opera training has given me so much more than just vocal technique. It’s taught me how to tap into emotion and deliver it in a way that feels honest. I still use that foundation when I’m writing or performing pop music, especially in how I approach dynamics and phrasing. Opera is so powerful, and I love bringing that intensity into my pop songs but with more intimacy. I also love layering vocals and harmonies, which stems from my opera and a cappella background. It’s all about creating something rich and complete but still intensely personal. Which song from Chapters was the most challenging to create? Did you face any emotional roadblocks or obstacles during your songwriting? “Hold On” was by far the most complex song for me to write. It’s about losing a close family friend who had such a huge impact on my life, and writing it felt so heavy because I wanted to get it right. I wondered, “How can I capture everything this person meant to me in a single song?” It wasn’t just about expressing my grief but also honoring their memory and the way they lived. Every time I sat down to work on it, the emotions were overwhelming, and I found myself rewriting verses repeatedly because it didn’t feel like enough. But I also felt this deep need to finish it, almost like it was my way of saying goodbye. Ultimately, it became a really personal tribute, not just about loss but about holding on to the strength and love they left behind. As a debut EP, Chapters is making quite a statement. What do you hope listeners take away from this collection of songs? I hope that people who listen to Chapters feel like they’re not alone in whatever they’re going through. Life can be messy and unpredictable, and this EP is about embracing all the stages of life, whether it's the heartbreak, the healing, or the growth. I hope the listeners can connect with these songs on a personal level and find a sense of comfort or inspiration. I want them to feel like they can relate to these stories and maybe even see their experiences reflected in the music. Instagram Website
