- Sarah Morey Turns Up The Heat In ‘Mama, All The Cowboys Call Me Wild!’ EP
From Tampa Bay to the rich music scene of Nashville, country artist and singer-songwriter Sarah Morey releases her captivating third EP, Mama, All The Cowboys Call Me Wild! Sarah Morey's musical journey is a dynamic mix of personal, profound songwriting and engaging performances, having shared stages with renowned artists and taking the stage of major music festivals. Her latest EP, Mama, All The Cowboys Call Me Wild!, marks another evolution for the artist as she weaves tales of country love, heartbreak, and the spirited dichotomy of wildness versus tameness. Diving into the EP, the intro track "Wild" sets a spirited tone, capturing over 460K views on TikTok with its infectious energy and fun storytelling. This earworm song explores the realization that mama might be wrong about all those cowboys—they're actually perfect for the wild, wild heart inside Sarah Morey. Track two, "Tame," is co-written with Noah Pelty and takes the tempo down a notch with a more introspective, "tame" instrumental. As Morey reflects on her upbringing in Tampa and fleeing for her Nashville dream, she belts her powerful vocals and makes it known that this wild heart can never be tamed. "Betty," another gem penned by Morey, continues the calm and gentle instrumentals while the Tampa-born artist dreams of living the picturesque southern life that "Betty" did." It's a narrative-rich song that paints vivid pictures of strong, independent women and the struggles they face, resonating deeply with anyone who appreciates the roles of wives, mothers, girlfriends, and the women making the world go round. On track number four, "Break It," we're met with a stunning collaboration with the Gwynn Sisters (Mia, Kylie, and Lila), offering their beautiful harmonies to round out this song to perfection. This song perfectly enriches the EP with vocal diversity while showcasing Morey's versatility simultaneously. Landing on the EP's outro track, "Harley," this bright country tune was co-written with Noah Pelty and kicks off with Morey's storytelling lyrics meeting the one and only Harley, named after a motorcycle, and taking life by the horns. It's a heartfelt ode to a childhood friend's massive impact and how she never needed money to be happy...she was rich with love. Sarah Morey's Mama, 'All The Cowboys Call Me Wild!' is the perfect reflection of her growth as a songwriter and her ability to connect deeply through authentic storytelling that makes a truly impressive impact. - Let The Dead Daisies Explode Your Speakers With “Light ’Em Up”
Channeling the spirit and grit of 70s rock is the renowned band The Dead Daisies, back and better than ever with a new speaker-sparking single titled "Light 'Em Up." The band has been tearing it up since its formation. Their energetic approach to music lives through themes of revival, the Mexican 'Day of the Dead,' and Jon Stevens' phrase 'pushing up daisies,' contributing to their name. With impressive musicians like David Lowy, Doug Aldrich, Glenn Hughes, and John Corabi over the years, there's no telling where The Dead Daisies will go next. Well, we've got one hint. The band is gearing up for the Light 'Em Up Tour across the US, UK, and Europe to promote their upcoming album of the same name. With the album's title track and lead single, "Light 'Em Up," The Dead Daisies are showcasing the explosive energy that landed them a loyal fanbase in the first place. Hitting play on "Light 'Em Up," we're slapped with heavy electric guitar riffs reminiscent of acts like Van Halen or Guns N' Roses. With their explosive energy and raspy vocals, The Dead Daisies smack the speakers with one of the most anthemic tunes we've heard this year. It perfectly captures the era of 70s rock music in its prime, lighting a fire that leads us straight to the dancefloor. The song's music video is another fiery experience. - Foster The People Light Up The Roxy With LA Show
Last Wednesday, Foster the People took to the stage at The Roxy in Los Angeles and made one hell of a return with a sold-out show—signaling the beginning of a new chapter for the band. This concert, their first major outing in LA since pausing for a lengthy hiatus (6 years since a proper tour), was a celebration of reconnecting—with each other, their music, and their fans. Among the crowd were familiar faces like Aaron Paul and Josh Hutcherson, enjoying the band's show as it kicked off with "Feed Me," the lead single from their upcoming album Paradise State of Mind . The band made one thing clear: Their music has evolved. The new tracks, loaded with synthy beats and catchy rhythms, steered more towards dance and disco yet still retained the alternative rock essence that initially launched them to fame. The energy in the room was palpable as they delivered both new songs like "Lost in Space" and classics like "Helena Beat" and the closer "Pumped Up Kicks." The shift toward a more dance-heavy vibe was incredibly well-received. Perhaps their fans anticipated the evolution. The band’s interaction with the crowd, combined with their infectious energy, was a declaration. Foster the People are not only back but are here to stay, embracing every step of the journey with their loyal fans.
- Rita Shukla Discusses How “Baby Don’t Go” Was Born
Welcome to Buzz, Rita Shukla! We loved “Baby Don’t Go” so much that we knew we had to ask! What inspired this release, and how did you feel hearing the completed version for the first time? Hello, guys! Thank you for having me at BuzzMusic and for the kind words about my song. It means a lot to me. "Baby Don’t Go" is a deeply personal song for me. I wrote it about a relationship with someone incredibly important in my life, especially during my toughest times. This person taught me love, kindness, and much about life and self-love. Although the relationship ended, I wanted to honor that part of my life with this song. I was thrilled when my producer and co-writer, Ted Perlman, sent me the final version of the song! Writing music is a healing process for me, and I hope others can relate to "Baby Don’t Go" and find their own healing and memories in it. When I first heard the completed version of the song, I felt a mixture of joy and pride. It was a vulnerable piece, bringing to life everything I wanted to express in the most honest way possible. "Baby Don’t Go" is, without a doubt, my favorite song that I’ve written so far. What inspired you to take that initial step to pursue music seriously, and what motivates you to make music? I've always loved music from a young age, singing along to the songs of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey. Despite this passion, I initially pursued acting, which I also love, mainly because I was too scared to own who I was and felt very insecure. Acting allowed me to hide behind the characters I played, masking my true self. It was only after I embraced who I am that I began to pursue music with more passion. Music became a source of healing for me, especially after battling depression, guiding me toward my purpose. The more I learned about myself and practiced self-growth, the more confident I became. I no longer needed to hide behind a role and instead embraced being myself—Rita—and expressing what I wanted to say through my lyrics. Knowing that I am aligned with my purpose motivates me to continue making music. I deeply desire to channel my life experiences and the truth within me, sharing that with the world through my songs. I hope to inspire others, too, encouraging them to embrace their true selves and find healing and purpose through their passions. What’s your biggest source of motivation when you make your music, and as an extension of that, what does music mean to you? As I mentioned before, my biggest motivation to write music is my own life experiences and my feelings about them or what I learned from them. This source of inspiration is connected to my most honest self and brings to life lyrics and melodies that represent those moments I lived. Music is healing to me. It’s a love language that unifies people, brings love, and evokes memories we hold dear. Through my music, I aim to share my journey and connect with others on a deeper level, hoping that my songs can bring them the same sense of comfort and understanding that they bring to me. Do you have any advice for any listeners who might be trying to follow in your footsteps? My advice for any listener trying to follow a music career or even acting, aside from studying and always being open to learning and evolving in your craft, is to believe in yourself and do it because you love it, not to seek others' approval. Don’t give up, because part of this job involves facing much rejection, but don’t take it personally. If someone closes a door for you, know that another door will open at the right time when it’s meant for you. Always be your most authentic self. Opportunities start to come when you do things with passion, purpose, and truth. What’s next for Rita Shukla, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? What's next for me is to continue making music and writing even more songs from the truths in my heart. I’m excited to see the growth in my future songs and myself as an artist. As we grow and learn from our experiences, music evolves too. It’s a journey. To all the people who admire me and my work, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’re my motivation to keep growing as a person and artist and to share my life through my songs. I hope my music resonates with you and that I can inspire you to follow your passions, embrace your true self, and never stop believing in your dreams. Full review here . Instagram
- Take A Sonic Adventure With Twilight Stunt Work's “You & I”
Twilight Stunt Work’s latest single, "You & I," is a delightful indie rock gem that radiates infectious energy and a sense of raw creativity. This duo from the North Wales Coast, consisting of bassist/vocalist Chris James and guitarist/vocalist Leam Jones, has not just transitioned but evolved from their roots in a Blink-182 tribute band to crafting their unique sound, a journey that inspires and captivates. Kicking off with lulling guitar riffs that set the stage for a tightly knit rhythm section, Twilight Stunt Works knows how to draw listeners into a captivating groove. The track boasts a distinctive indie-rock vibe that pulsates through the speakers, evoking a blend of nostalgia and fresh, contemporary appeal. The guitar work is both catchy and intricate, perfectly complementing the robust bass lines that anchor the song. Vocally, the single stands out with its impeccable use of textured vocal effects. The lead vocals carry a powerful yet soothing quality, creating an entrancing contrast that keeps the listener hooked from start to finish. The lyrics are a standout feature, painting vivid imagery and inviting listeners into a narrative filled with emotional depth and relatability. As Twilight Stunt Work continues to fine-tune its sound, "You & I" serves as a testament to its musical prowess and potential. The song captures the essence of indie rock while showcasing the duo's unique style, which intrigues and invites further exploration. With plans for an upcoming EP in the summer of 2024, Twilight Stunt Work is certainly a band to watch. They promise to deliver more of their engaging and heartfelt music to a growing audience. If "You & I" is any indication, this is a band that knows how to blend heartfelt lyrics, captivating melodies, and a righteous energy that is truly infectious. Welcome to Buzz, Twilight Stunt Work! "You & I" has a captivating charm that you fall right into. Can you please share a bit about the inspiration behind this track? What was the creative process like? Essentially, we focused on revisiting our influences from when we were younger to achieve the Pop-Punk sound we have always wanted to pursue. The track initially started off slightly different from the final version, as we wanted to get creative, predominantly with the guitar riffs. We also wanted to create an upbeat melody to accompany the darker-in-tone lyrics and provoke an emotional response. What message were you aiming to convey with this song? What do you want your audience to take away from it? There was no message as such. We would just like our audience/community to enjoy and resonate with You & I in their own way. As a duo, how do you balance your individual musical tastes and influences when creating new music? We work well as a team, and the music highlights our influences. We both have different musical tastes; however, we bounce ideas back and forth whilst staying objective as much as possible. Our intentions are to have a diverse sound within the up-and-coming EP, ranging from a double-timed fast Pop-Punk song to a slow, clean ambient melody, especially after a few too many BrewDog Punk IPAs! With the traction "You & I" has been gaining, how does it feel to see your music resonate with listeners? It feels good to see and hear all of the great feedback You & I has received to date. Ultimately, we would like to thank every single person who has taken their time to listen to You & I and hope they enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed creating it. What are your goals for Twilight Stunt Work moving forward? We are currently working on our debut EP, which we intend to release this year. Subsequently, we would like to secure a dedicated drummer to enable us to play live shows in the near future. Facebook
- CLOAKZ Transport Listeners On “This Is It”
Although CLOAKZ began as the fuzzed-out, psych-rock brainchild of singer/guitarist Zac Ciancaglini, he would eventually find the rest of his five-piece, indie-pop outfit amidst the wild swell of Philadelphia’s vibrant music scene. Surrounded by bands of every kind giving it their collective all, they found no shortage of inspiration, crafting their own potent take on a classic, guitar-driven recipe. Layering elements of shoegaze and indie-folk with a sticky melodic sensibility, CLOAKZ delivers a dreamy and direct sound sure to delight fans of alternative heavyweights like the National and the War on Drugs. Across eight diverse and dynamic tracks, they now present their debut LP, Control Program . On the album’s latest single, “This Is It,” the band expertly directs a sonic journey that builds from an airy weightlessness into a heavy blissful release. A softly overdriven guitar plays a couple of breezy chords steeped in reverb and delay. The floating atmosphere thrums before we’re suddenly grounded by a jaunty, two-chord pattern. The rhythm section locks in, propelling the track as it continues to amass layers of sound and intensity, and then pulls back for Ciancaglini’s striking baritone as he sings of conflicting desires. “I want out / You want in / In this place / no one wins.” Launching headlong into the rushing half-time of the song’s sweeping chorus, Ciancaglini resigns himself to his immovable position: “I got no fight / She’s all I’ll give / I don’t know what you’re thinking / but my baby this is it.” The track ends with an instrumental trip to the stars, powered by the band’s thrilling guitar work. Prior singles, “El Zero” and “Vacant”—the latter engineered by Jeff Zeigler (Kurt Vile, The War on Drugs)—also highlight CLOAKZ’s penchant for mining dramatic depths across the landscape of modern alternative rock. Control Program is a fully realized and self-assured song cycle throughout. The music, however, was born out of an uncertain and anxious time. Back in 2019, Ciancaglini–together with bassist Tony Aqullino–had parted ways with their original drummer and guitarist. New drummer Greg Foran stepped in, and shortly thereafter, Aquillino’s friends–guitarist James Keary and keyboardist S. Catoe–moved to Philly looking for a new project. Once in the fold, they brought a fresh, collaborative spirit to the band, taking Ciancaglini’s vision to new heights, deepening and defining the band's sound with a dual guitar attack, three vocalists, and keyboards. They were revved up and gaining momentum. Circumstances, however, would soon change for everyone as COVID-19 brought much of the world to an effective halt. Beyond the standard shock and adjustment to life in quarantine, however, Ciancaglini also became a new father at the height of the pandemic. The stress of navigating so much unfamiliar territory at once while continuing to write songs provided him with a central theme for his new album: the desire for order in a chaotic world. The titular control program, as Ciancaglini explains, is a bit of sci-fi fantasy, imagining a quick fix that could allow him to step out of his own life, away from its complications and responsibilities, and automate the process for perfect results. In the real world, however, CLOAKZ found a sense of control in the recording studio, bringing their songs to life with producer/engineer Alex Lipsen (Phosphorescent, Nada Surf) at Brooklyn’s Russell Street Recording. Together, they created compelling arrangements and engrossing sonic textures that bid the listener to step into the music and get lost. In considering what the band created, Ciancaglini reflected on how the central theme evolved: “In the end... I think the songs on the album are about fighting that impulse to step away, to be numb, to escape, and instead to face life head-on with all of its messiness and complication and difficulty.” And while the music on Control Program certainly provides an effective array of destinations for listeners looking for escape, the sound of CLOAKZ is a rich and complex tapestry that reflects life experienced, not avoided. Experience the album for yourself on August 23, 2024. Instagram
- The Enigmatic Use Of Sunglasses In Music Videos
"We're 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full gas tank, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses." "Hit it." One of the most memorable lines from the classic The Blues Brothers drives home the link between musicians and sunglasses; indeed, in the movie, Jake and Elwood are rarely seen without them. John Lennon was often around his New York home in his iconic round lenses, while Sir Elton John's esoteric sunglasses are always in demand at rock memorabilia auctions. His recent retirement from touring should only push prices even higher. The image of the cool, rebel musician wearing shades intensified when PR moved from press shots and live shows to music videos. In the first video MTV ever aired, Buggles' Video Killed The Radio Star , singer Trevor Horn is bedecked in outsized neo-futurist lenses for the duration. Sunglasses make a memorable visual statement. It's impossible to think of Top Gun without Tom Cruise's Ray-Ban Aviators. And many musicians have linked that optical iconography to their sonic output in their videos. So, without further ado, let's look at four of the best. The Jesus & Mary Chain - Snakedriver Despite hailing from the decidedly un-sunny climes of East Kilbride, Scotland - and their arguably biggest song being Happy When It Rains - the Reid brothers are rarely seen without shades on. And they are utilitarian. When their early gigs in the mid-1980s oftentimes descended into mini-riots, sunglasses shielded their eyes from beer and bottles being hurled stewards. Here, Jim's Clubmaster-style half-rims are protection from the Almeria sun as the scenery's scorched earth tracks the song's searing guitar fuzz. Future - Jumpin On A Jet In fashion, the 90s are back. Cargo pants and cardigans are on catwalks in 2023. Accessories are back with a bang, too – including sunglasses . Sporting brand Oakley came off the ski slopes and into the new extreme sports of the 1990s when their goggles were worn by mountain bikers like John Tomac and snowboarders like Jason Ford. Nowadays, Action Bronson can often be spotted in classic Frogskins and M-Frames. Future stayed one step ahead of the trend by sporting Oakley Flight Deck ski goggles in his Jumpin On A Jet video back in 2019. Run DMC - Pause Pick a video by another Soundcloud rapper, and you'll likely see stacks of bills surrounding them and often being thrown around like confetti. Back in the 1980s in NYC, such ostentatious displays of wealth would be frowned upon, not least because of the likelihood of being relieved of said money. While Run DMC was certainly fashion-conscious, it was the apparel of the streets – see My Adidas as the perfect benchmark. However, Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels also had his eye on the high-end, frequently sporting Cazal 607 sunglasses. His wearing of them in the video for 'Pause' is a subtle nod to the positive, enriching message of the song. Do good things, and good things may come to you. Brie Stoner - Loved Me Like A Weapon The Spanish-raised Michigan songstress wears the same pair of shades to two very different effects in her 2023 video. She is sporting a pair of oversized round frames in the opening frames, similar to Gucci's classic model. She's in a penthouse, and we seem to be in for a tale of luxury. However, as the song progresses, it becomes clear this is the narrative of someone hurting. Playing the character of an assassin, her garb of long coat, beret, and oversized shades seems as much a defense of her soul as an anonymization of her physicality. We interviewed Brie upon the single's release, although if you're conscious of spoilers, watch the video before reading the feature. The digital age means we're closer to artists' lives than ever. We can check their socials to see what they're recording, where they're going, and sometimes even what they're eating. The enigmatic cool a pair of sunglasses provides - just that little air of mystery hasn't dulled in decades. It's not about to start now.
- dead motel Won’t Let You Fade Away In Your “Palace” On His Heart-Tugging New Release
Sometimes, all you need to do is let someone inside. Operating under the moniker Dead Motel, Pennsylvania’s Maxwell Getz has quickly identified himself as one of the most exciting talents to watch in the indie scene today. Utilizing ambiance, feelings of nostalgia, and melodic hooks to create his signature indie rock/pop sound, Getz’s deeply personal releases have struck a chord with listeners. His willingness to be vulnerable endears him to his audiences, and Getz has built himself up a loyal following, positioning himself to break out at any time. Although his life or musical journey has been anything but easy, Getz has persevered. Although the loss of his father at a young age plunged him into a tumultuous adolescence marked by substance abuse, the dark clouds that hung over his life would not be permanent. Getz’s story is not one of tragedy but one of resilience and transformation; seeking help to overcome his addiction, he embarked on a profound journey of self-discovery and healing. Through this process, Dead Motel was born, serving as both a vehicle for catharsis and a conduit for connection for listeners with similar experiences. “Palace” is a release that feels like a warm blanket of indie rock goodness if we had to describe it. With an instrumental performance that feels soft yet upbeat and hopeful, the motel’s soothing vocals sap your worries away as he gently eases you into his soundscape. Although lines like “in your palace of windows / where the secrets overflowed / you were drowning in your clothes / all alone” might seem isolating initially, the motel’s comforting vocals feel like a soft ray of light, letting you know you’re not alone. If you find yourself haunted by the sounds of your mind, Dead Motel wants you to know you’re not alone. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Motel’s latest release, “Palace,” on all majour streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Dead Motel! We couldn't get enough of “Palace,” so we had to ask! What inspired this release, and what was your favorite part of the creative process of making “Palace?" So glad you like it! Palace started by bridging the gap between my earlier electronic/dance releases and the new sound I was going for, which is more full band. I settled on using a disco beat with synths but real bass and guitars. I had all the vocal melodies without lyrics, and I was in the shower one day. The line “In your palace of windows” came to me, and quickly, the rest of the chorus came. It became apparent the song was about a time in my life when I was deeply lost in addiction, and I was trying my very best to hide it from everyone around me. It was obvious I wasn’t doing well, and keeping those secrets made everything worse and ate me up from the inside. Who would your dream collaboration be, and why? It's probably The 1975. They are my favorite band of all time, and their musical language, palette, and aesthetic are similar to my own. What’s your fondest music-related memory? Probably my first memory of ever liking a song would be hearing “You Can Call Me Al” by Paul Simon as a young child. I’m a sucker for simple, catchy melodies, and I’ve loved that song and album dearly ever since. If your fans could take one thing away from your music, what would you want it to be? Pain is important, and facing your pain head-on with love, patience, and kindness will help you grow and find who you truly are. True beauty lies in the things we are afraid of, find scary, or ugly. What’s next for Dead Motel, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? I have a new song called “The Ending” coming out September 6th, with more coming behind them. I’m currently rolling out singles for my debut album and will be announcing a full release for that in the near future. Also keep an eye out of show dates, I can’t wait to bring dead motel to the stage. I want to thank the core fanbase that’s been supporting me since the beginning; I can’t wait to share all this new music with them! Instagram
- Tony Newbury Takes You for a Late-Night Spin on His New Release “Route 9”
Sometimes, you just want to feel young and alive. Known for a distinctive sound that’s set him apart from the standard drill and hard-style rappers, New Jersey’s Tony Newbury continues to establish himself as one of the scene’s most intriguing talents with every release. His unique flow and adept use of samples reflect a deeper, more layered artistic intent and approach —Newbury isn’t just here to entertain; he’s here to help you make sense of chaotic twists and turns of life. To that end, the minimum or even being average won’t do; Newbury is chasing brilliance, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Drawing from his personal hardships, Newbury hopes his music can serve as a beacon for those navigating their struggles. His musical journey began with the release of his well-received debut EP, Lonely in the Summer, in July 2019. The world’s abrupt cultural shift and closure during the pandemic saw him lock in while life seemingly came to a standstill. He would double down on his craft, leading to the release of his similarly well-received sophomore album, Suburban Rap Music, in June 2020, followed swiftly by Nothing New that July. His prolific output continued with the 2021’s “Westwood” and his latest, most successful album, 2022’s “Over 21.” As the opening act for his hotly anticipated album “No More Cigarettes,” Newbury’s new release “Route 9” would always be held to a high standard. He’s managed to meet and exceed those, however, with “Route 9” becoming a standout release in its own right. Utilizing slightly more laid-back instrumentals, Newbury creates an introspective soundscape, making self-reflective lyrics like “Got a tray on the side/hella ash in my ride” just hit differently. It’s the perfect opening salvo and, perhaps even more fittingly, feels like the perfect vibe for a late-night drive. With his distinct flow and advanced artistic vision, Tony Newbury continues to make a name for himself with yet another run of standout releases. - Dave Luv Shines Bright in Fresh New Single, “Stunna”
From the bustling Chicago hip-hop scene, rapper and hip-hop recording artist Dave Luv drops a mesmerizing new single titled "Stunna" The multi-talented artist blends elements of alternative hip-hop, cloud rap, and indie pop to create a sound that's deeply versatile and dynamic. Dave's genre-defying approach has been turning heads in the underground scene, setting him up as an artist to watch in 2025 and beyond. In the new banger, "Stunna," Dave Luv teams up with esteemed producer Onassis Morris to deliver a track that's both confident and introspective. The single follows his critically acclaimed "Some Days," further cementing his reputation as a threat talent in the hip-hop landscape. Jumping into "Stunna," the dreamy production grabs listeners with its smooth, transcendent vibes. As the drums kick in, Dave Luv showcases his effortless delivery, riding the beat with a confidence that's both impressive and infectious. His lyrics are a mix of braggadocio and self-reflection, touching on themes of success, perseverance, and keeping things 100%. The hook is wildly catchy. We wouldn't be surprised if "Walk in the spot like what up, Rollie on my wrist big stunna" sticks in your head long after the song ends. The production, courtesy of Onassis Morris, provides the perfect backdrop for Dave Luv's vocals. The beat is crisp and modern, with subtle elements that add depth without overshadowing his performance. It's a masterclass in creating a track that's both radio-ready and true to the artist's unique style. Take a dip into Dave Luv's undeniable flow with his new single, "Stunna," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Dave Luv! We love the smooth and dreamy vibes of your new single, "Stunna." What inspired you to create this tune? It really just kind of happened; there was no planning involved at all. I was in Miami working with Onassis, and he made the beat, and I wrote the song in one session. We knew it was something special from the second the first line went down. Can you tell us about your collaboration with producer Onassis Morris? How did he help shape the sound of "Stunna?" He’s a genius, and working with him has been an absolute blessing to me. He’s got awesome energy and has become like a big brother to me over the years as we’ve continued to work and become closer as well. As far as Stunna goes, he made the beat in an hour at most. We were going through samples, and he found this one that was super bouncy. we agreed it sounded cool, so we started there, and 5 hours later, we had the record. On top of being a world-class producer, Onassis is also a phenomenal recording engineer, so physically being in the studio with him is always an incredible experience. What was it like shooting the "Stunna" music video with director Nicholas Jandora? What vision did you two want to bring to life? Nick is one of my favorite people that walks the face of this earth, and if anyone reading this ever gets the chance to meet him they’ll understand why. He’s incredibly down to earth despite his accolades, and we have very similar personalities, so the two of us work together seamlessly. I give Nick complete creative freedom to do his thing with the visuals because he always has a perfect vision. The song is about how I do my own thing, and the video is me living completely in my own world, so it all fits together quite nicely. The lyrics in "Stunna" touch on themes like success and staying true to yourself. Why is it important for you to convey these messages in your music? Everyone has their thing, right? I know who I am, and I know who I want to be. Something that many people fail to realize is that it really doesn’t matter what people think of you. The most important thing at the end of the day is being happy with who you are and where you’re at in life, and if that means needing to take the road less traveled and maybe walking alone for a little bit- that is okay. When you find your inner peace and are truly happy, it becomes something no one can shake, and I think everyone deserves to feel that in their life. What do you hope listeners feel when they hear "Stunna?" Is there a particular feeling or message you want to leave them with? Whatever it is, you got it. Don’t worry about everyone else. They may not see the vision on the first brushstroke, but by the time the painting is complete, they often fall in love with the art in front of them. Twitter TikTok
