Bandcamp Friday returns on this Friday, giving independent artists another opportunity to earn more from their music while encouraging fans to support the people behind their favorite releases. At BUZZMUSIC, we've made it a monthly tradition to put our money where our mouth is by purchasing 100 songs from independent artists every Bandcamp Friday.

Held on select first Fridays of the month, Bandcamp Friday is an initiative where the music platform waives its revenue share on eligible purchases for 24 hours, allowing artists and labels to keep a larger portion of their sales.

For independent musicians, that extra revenue matters. With streaming payouts continuing to raise questions about how artists are compensated, direct music purchases remain one of the most effective ways for listeners to financially support the music they love. And that's exactly why we participate.

Every Bandcamp Friday, BUZZMUSIC purchases 100 songs from independent artists. It's a straightforward commitment, but one that reflects what we've believed since launching our publication in 2018: independent music deserves more than exposure. It deserves actual investment.

We're constantly discovering talented musicians who are writing, recording, producing, and releasing incredible work without major-label budgets or industry backing. Buying their music is one small way we can contribute directly to their careers.

Want BUZZMUSIC to purchase your music this Bandcamp Friday? We're inviting independent artists to visit our official Bandcamp Friday Instagram post and drop a link to their song in the comments. Artists must also be following the BUZZMUSIC Instagram page to be considered for purchase.

It's free to submit, and we'll be selecting 100 songs to purchase directly through Bandcamp.

We believe supporting independent artists shouldn't stop at sharing a Spotify link, adding a song to a playlist, or posting about a release on social media. Those things have value, but purchasing music puts money directly into the hands of the people creating it.

As Bandcamp Friday approaches, we're encouraging our readers to discover a new artist, revisit an independent release they've been enjoying, and consider buying a song or album.

You don't need to purchase 100 songs to make a difference. Even buying one matters.

For BUZZMUSIC, supporting independent music has always been the entire point. And every Bandcamp Friday, we're making sure that support goes beyond the headlines.
