Welcome to BuzzMusic Bjorn Rydhog and Azure Blue. Cheers to hitting the vibe with "Adore Her (Azure Blue Remix)," which has a super catchy, energetic vibe that makes us want to move. Can you share some insights into the songwriting process and how you created such an engaging atmosphere within the song?

Bjorn: The foundation for' Adore Her' was created based on a song I made with my 9-year-old sibling Tilda. Appropriately enough, my wife Elisabeth sings backing vocals in the chorus where she sings "getting stronger." My grandfather used to weave juniper baskets and said, "If it cracks, it holds.” Freely translated in the chorus, it became "if it cracks, you know we're getting stronger." The quote also applies to life in general. It’s a pop song dedicated to love and nature, etc. I teamed up with the incredibly talented Swedish indie pop artist Azure Blue to breathe new life into the track. I sent him the backtracks and gave him full creative control to produce something extraordinary. The end result was nothing short of amazing - Azure Blue infused the song with his unique style and creativity, creating a fresh new sound that exceeded my expectations."

Azure Blue: I only remix songs. I like to keep most vocals intact and stay true to the original. But I change everything else into my own instruments. I also kept a drum loop and a synth bus for this one. I put a lot of FX on. I used fully analog synths and drum machines to paint my sound. I am so happy Bjorn and his tiny baby liked it.

Remixing a song can often lead to surprising discoveries and new interpretations. In the case of "Adore Her (Azure Blue Remix)," were any unexpected moments or revelations that arose during the creative process?

Azure Blue: I go with the flow and don’t overthink it. Then when I listen to the original, I get surprised how different it all has gotten. The unexpected part of this collaboration was how Bjorn got me to look even more in-depth into the potential of the remix, so I worked extra hard on all the details in the final mix. And I am glad we did!

Your collaboration with Azure Blue on "Adore Her" has been a fruitful one. Are there any other artists or producers you would love to collaborate with in the future to create a unique remix or original song?

Bjorn: "I'm always open to collaborating with talented individuals from diverse fields, whether they're established names or up-and-coming visionaries. Brian Eno is one of my personal heroes, whose artistic vision has greatly expanded my perspective on art, music, and life. I'm particularly inspired by his Oblique Strategies cards, which I use daily to spark my own creative impulses. My collaboration with Eno has already begun through my daily use of his innovative methods."

The remix features dreamy melodies and sweeping analog synths that give the song a timeless quality. As an artist, what are your thoughts on blending modern sounds with a retro-futuristic touch, and how did this approach influence the creation of "Adore Her (Azure Blue Remix)?"

Azure Blue: I think the sound of the 80s is very big right now, and I hope it does not get a backlash afterwards. I used analog synths with the producer of my first two albums as, Azure Blue. Midnight Ruler showed me the way. It’s kind of in his alias. But I have taken it one step further lately, even running the analog instruments through analog outboard preamps and compressors. And ironically, that is very futuristic, looking at today's music production with a craze for vintage warmth.

With the success of "Adore Her (Azure Blue Remix)" and your growing domestic and international recognition, what are your plans for the future? Are there any new bodies of work or collaborations that you can share with your fans in the coming up?

Bjorn: I aim to create catchy, deep, and beautiful art while seeing it as a chance for personal growth and self-improvement. As Nadia Boulanger said, 'Your music will never be any more or less than you are as a human being.' I strive for more meaningful and impactful artistic expression by continually developing myself. Excitingly, my upcoming single is produced by renowned producer Adam Kagan, who has worked with artists like Kanye West. With a delicate mix of improvised guitar play, harmonica, and analog synths, this pop song has a new flair. Incorporating a divine theme adds intrigue and depth, making it an exciting release for early summer." And I can tell Azure Blue’s long-time listeners that he will drop his sixth album this year!
