Brooklyn-Based Artist ITZ BOI BOI Drops New Video For “NEPTUNE”

Amidst today’s hip-hop landscape, there are sounds that work, the ones that connect and make waves, and there are uninteresting concepts that don’t work. In the case of “NEPTUNE” by ITZ BOI BOI, the sound kicks in quickly with that modern feel, but the lyricism that develops, later on, is where you really start to witness something special, something a few steps ahead of anything in mainstream music right now.

This track blends a smooth melody with a modern twist. “NEPTUNE” starts out well and continues to build in a refreshing way throughout. There are moments of varied melody, beat refrain, and rap, that help create something structurally intentional yet still always rhythmically entrancing and connected enough to really envelop the listener. ITZ BOI BOI seems genuinely lost in the moment throughout the recording, he carries the bar well and makes certain to hold your affection without screaming out for views or throwing in anything irrelevant just to add volume. There’s a mild intensity to his vocal style and delivery, suggesting that ITZ BOI BOI means what he says. Worthy production meets with subtle creativity and a clear understanding of today’s hip hop landscape within “NEPTUNE”. A truly impressive track from a bright up and coming artist!

Hey ITZ BOI BOI! Welcome to BuzzMusic! What inspired you to first begin making music and releasing it to the public?

I was always into rapping with my peers.. but it wasnt until 2005/2006 when I thought to myself I should give it a try in the studio. My first song was WE HERE produced by LUCKAVELI.  People actually liked the song and that transpired me into writing and recording more songs.

You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into his lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “NEPTUNE”?

It's funny and weird I find myself at times creating a song concept based off the title a producer names their beat. I came up of with NEPTUNE because the name of the beat from U Dub was call "CLOUDS ON NEPTUNE".. the beat was dope and started saying " as we proceed to smoke this weed head in the clouds dont make me come down right now I'm on NEPTUNE" lmao... crazy !!!

Since you’ve been making music for several years, how would you compare some of the earlier material you’ve written to your newest release “NEPTUNE”?

I have watched myself progress as a song writer, I've trained myself to create material that I like to listen to.. from gritty to smooth..party and love tracks. I have a wild imagination,as write without pen and paper I lm able to hear and where what harmony and ranges etc needs to be placed before I hit the studio.. So to answer you question I have improved alot. I would really love to write some hooks for artist.

We’ve also been bumping your newest release “What UP” and we love it! What have been some of your proudest or most memorable moments in your music career so far?

WHAT UP is dope too I heard the beat in my car and started harmonizing and the words came out smooth. Then I.referenced it myself and sent it to JAQUAE and he did his thing !!!! Video coming soon for that, maybe spring time..

We really appreciate you chatting with us about your incredible music! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways?

Yea..thank you.. I'm into fashion so it will spill over into fashion. I will finally release a.project for 2020 .... stay tuned ITZ YA BOI
