BuzzMusic Catches Up With Lil Ken!

What's up Lil Ken! We're happy to have you here at BuzzMusic! Mind telling our readers a bit about your background and where you grew up?
I grew up in the projects of West Tampa. Single mom, dad arrested when I was young. Watching my mom struggle to take care of me and my siblings, really inspires me to keep going with music even more. It’s bigger then me, what I’m doing now is for my family, for my mom!
Who would you consider some of your main inspirations? in what ways have they inspired you?
My main inspirations would be Lil Wayne and Young Thug. How Lil Wayne uses his word play to make listeners actually think about what he’s saying played a huge part in why I fell in love with music, the way he delivers and paints pictures in people’s heads has always stood out to me. Young Thug because he created and made it okay for rappers to have melodies in there raps and to have unorthodox flows.
We listened to your single "Right Into It" and we loved it! what was the vision you had for this track?
For “Right Into It” I wanted to paint a picture and make the listeners feel the beat, and so they could have a vivid picture of what goes on in my life.
Did you stumble upon any obstacles during the production of "Right Into It"? In what ways was this challenging?
Only obstacle I crossed was altering the beat too fit certain parts of the vocals better.
Tell us about your upcoming tape! what can we expect from it?
My album “Martin Luther Ken” will be released either in October or early November. I just want everything to be perfect for my fans before I put it out. It’s about 70% done and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. I expect it to be the best album from an independent artist this year.
