A multi-faceted artistic force that seamlessly blends genres and boundaries with each project, artist Edalo’s musical journey has been marked by illustrious collaborations and groundbreaking releases.

As a musician, composer, and producer, Edalo sees music from multiple levels, using his vision to make releases that stand out from a technical standpoint while also touching the soul. With every release, Edalo reaffirms his status as one of the brightest spots in the industry, and we can’t wait to see how far he can ascend.

Beginning in 2012, when he joined forces with luminaries such as Robby Takac (of Goo Goo Dolls), Kenny Hawkins, and Jerry Livingston to create “Mariposa,” Edalo’s music journey has been defined by a commitment to excellence and creative exploration.

Although we wouldn’t know it then, his critically acclaimed debut album “Faith” would set the tone for a slew of future releases that are all outstanding in their own right. It’s not like maintaining a standard like this isn’t incredibly hard either; Edalo is just up to the challenge.

Soft, pensive on occasion but at all times brimming with unspoken emotion, “Mirage” soared to #1 on the Electronic Top Charts on iTunes, once again showing Edalo’s ability to make music that resonates with wide audiences. “Mirage” is an aptly titled release that might feel like a fleeting dream, but it’s a dream you’re gonna want to replay over and over again.

Welcome to Buzz, Edalo! We loved “Mirage” so much that we had to ask: What inspired this release?

Thank you very much for the kind words! Really happy to hear that BuzzMusicLA loves "Mirage." "Mirage" is a very sentimental song to me because I wanted to create a song where there are no featured singers and no other featured credits other than myself. I wanted to prove that I could hit #1 by myself on iTunes, which is exactly what became a reality. "Mirage" is about having a vision and carrying that vision through. Turning your dreams into a reality and knowing what it takes to make it happen. Not everyone will believe in you, but what matters the most is that you believe in yourself.

Can you take us through your usual creative process when making songs?

Absolutely! My creative process is four steps. My process is preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification. In preparation, you use various ideation methods to help you understand, attack ideas, and build. Mainly seeing a creative idea from all angles.

With incubation, you are open to all ideas, even the "crazy" ones, and when you take a step back to reorganize your thoughts. In illumination, this is the "A-Ha" or "Eureka" moment, and when, finally, things start to fall into place. Verification is when you build, analyze, and evaluate your "A-Ha" solution. When it comes to the creation of songs, I usually start with a piano line or catchy sound. Next, I will add parts like drums, bass, or even a catchy vocal to help develop the song.

As someone who’s been successful and around the scene for so long, what’s been the favorite part of your musical journey so far?

My favorite part about my musical journey is that there's always something new and fresh about it. If you work hard enough, there's always someone to collaborate with or bounce ideas off of. There is always somewhere new to experience and people to share your music with. The most rewarding thing is seeing my music resonate with my "fans" or listeners. The journey is not always easy, but it's completely worth it when it all comes together. Nothing comes easy in life, especially when you're on a musical journey. So the best thing you can do is never give up and always keep creating.

If your audience could take one thing away from your music, what would you want it to be?

If my audience can take one thing away from my music, it would be never to give up. If you give up on your visions and dreams, they'll never happen. If you work hard towards your goals, you are more likely to achieve them. Life is never easy, but it's how an individual reacts to it.

Everyone has their own life and is so wrapped up in it that sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is take care of yourself. With self-care, you can become stronger and have more strength to accomplish your goals. Never giving up may be a hard thing to do, especially when you're faced with trials and tribulations, but ultimately can help you push through. My advice for my audience would be to always keep moving forward and always keep pushing on.

What’s next for Edalo? Is there anything you want to say to your fans?

The one thing I'd love to first state is, thank you for listening to my music! Being able to release music for people who actually appreciate it is something I am extremely grateful for. For those who come out to my shows, especially the sold-out ones, you have helped me make this vision real life, and I am beyond appreciative when those come out to support me. The future of Edalo contains an upcoming EP release and multiple music video releases, collaborations & shows. I have one very big special secret in the works, but I have to keep it confidential. Thanks for a great interview!
