The idea behind Where Sea Meets Sky was to express some of the feelings of being away from someone you love. Even though long-distance, emotional connections are undeniable, I wanted that feeling of longing to come through the lyrics.
How did you and Azanti come together to make “Where Sea Meets Sky?”
I've been a fan of Azanti for a while and had a relationship with his management (shoutout to Cindy) and some of his producers. I kind of just shot my shot and sent over the song. Luckily he loved it, and we were able to make it happen! It's always extremely rewarding to make great music with like-minded people who are in it for the right reasons. Azanti is a genius and a genuine person.
What feelings would you like to transmit through “Where Sea Meets Sky?”
I wanted the song to feel emotional and cinematic in a way. There are some sad tones, but I think romance is ultimately the feeling I wanted to transmit.
How often do you find inspiration in nature?
I find inspiration in nature extremely often. In LA, you're a few minutes from the beach and a few minutes from the mountains. It's easier to escape than people might think.
