Welcome to BuzzMusic Evan Croft! Tell us a bit about your background and upbringing. Where are you from and how would you describe your early influences in music?
I’m from Toronto, Ontario. Growing up, I listened to a lot of R&B and pop music like Michael Jackson, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, & John Legend.
We fell in love with the release of your latest single “Jam”. Were there any special moments on this record that stood out for you as an artist?
I really enjoyed creating this song with Lexxicon. He’s a smart, focused & talented artist. He had a lot of great ideas for the song.
What would you consider the most challenging aspect of the production of “Jam”?
I’d say the challenging part of the song was finding a day for us both to meet & record at the studio. After we finished writing our verses, it took us almost three weeks to agree on a day and get the song recorded.
We hear your debut album is set and ready to go in 2020! What’s the entire vision for this project?
This project is to finally introduce myself to the world. It describes what kind of person I am and what I think about.
What could we expect from this album?
I normally do R&B music, but for this album you can expect a lot of different genres like Pop, Alternative, Dance, and Hip Hop.
