Welcome to BuzzMusic When We Met! It's such a pleasure to be chatting with you. How did you originally get started making music? How did you gain the confidence to begin recording and releasing your music together?
We began writing a little music together and collaborating back in 2010 right after we met. But it took a few years to find out how we wanted to perform live as a two-piece with all the rock elements and sound we desire. We are continuously building on our sound and performances.
"Bring Them Back" blends a beautiful melody with meaningful lyricism. What can you tell us about what this particular release means to you?
“Bring Them Back” was written about the pain and frustration we felt upon hearing about the treatment of families at the US / Mexico border. This release is on an abolish ICE fundraising compilation. We get involved in causes we care about, doing what we can as artists to help.
What's the most integral element to your music that you find is always integrated into every track you create?
Probably making sure the songs always contain elements from both of our songwriting. No matter who is the lead vocalist and main songwriter of a particular track, every song is a When We Met song.
We checked out your 2019 National Tour Documentary, featuring 23 venues and we were blown away! What was the most memorable moment of the tour?
Oh man, so many memorable moments… Behind the scenes, we both had the worst case of food poisoning through Colorado and Moab, we will never forget that! We are continuously thinking of little goofy moments that make us laugh, or wild shows such as in Omaha when Buggy Lewis had his epic performance.
It was a pleasure to have you here on BuzzMusic! What do you think is next for you artistically? Where do you hope to progress within the next couple of years?!
Next order of business will be recording and writing some new music, we will be elaborating on our stage set up and have a new animated music video due out in 2020! In the next couple years we plan to continue our musical evolution and go back on a big tour and make another epic tour documentary!
