Feel The Summer Mood In Tynan Smyth’s New Track “Act Up”

Tynan Smyth is a 20 year old up and coming recording artist, engineer and producer making noise out of Port ALberni, British Columbia. Starting in 2018, Tynan began writing his eclectic hip-hop music and released his debut album “Mixed Signals” in May 2019.  Influenced by mainstream and underground artists, Tynan Smyth creates his own unique style of music from moody vibes to heavy-hitting club tracks that connect with his listeners no matter their mood.

Tynan Smyth’s latest track “Act Up” is a high energy club banger. The raw and powerful vibe exuded throughout this track is admirable. Tynan remains authentic and transparent while he tells the story of his come up and success. “Act Up” reveals the perks of Tynan’s life after success. From brand names and shopping to women and friends, Tynan Smyth gives the listener a chill vibe and smooth track while they can easily take in his confidence and swagger. Tynan plays with an experimental sound arrangement and a catchy main backbeat and we’re loving it. I highly recommend you check out this track and stay on the lookout for Tynan Smyth!

Hey Tynan! Welcome to BuzzMusic! When did you decide to take music more seriously?

I decided to take music more seriously after I began making beats and writing songs with friends. With the support they gave me, I became encouraged to begin my music career.

What do you hope your listeners take away from your music, specifically “Act Up”?

After listening to “Act Up” I hope my listeners can connect to the meaning. “Act Up” is a story about an ex of mine who was quite aggressive and quick to anger and this song captures that and hopefully my listeners can relate. In general, I hope anyone who listens to my music can relate to the meanings but also enjoy the vibe they get.

What was your writing process like for this song?

When I first heard the beat the name “Act Up” came to me straight away. I spent some time reflecting on my past and the story about my ex came up in my head. After the idea was planted, I wrote it like a story where everything is good in the relationship at the beginning and then in the second verse is where everything turned bad.

Who are some of your musical influences? How do they inspire your sound?

My musical influences include Travis Scott, Mac Miller, G-Eazy, and Asap Rocky to name a few. By listening to these influencer, I become aware of things I would of never thought of such as flows, pop culture references, and different rhyming techniques.

If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would you choose? Why?

If I could perform anywhere in the world I would still pick LA due to the HipHop scene and population. To be able to perform in one of the biggest HipHop influenced city would be my dream.

What’s next for you Tynan Smyth?

Following “Act Up” I am working on new songs and looking to include features with upcoming artists as well as add some new and different elements into my music to stand out.
