Feel Your Heart Flutter With Smooth Retsina Glow’s “Find Myself”

Dynamic musical trio Smooth Retsina Glow adds zest and versatility to the music scene with their passionate and refreshing new single, "Find Myself."

Smooth Retsina Glow has been carving their path in the industry for the past three years. With a few lineup changes, the current band comprises guitarist/vocalist Colin Wolf, bassist Stephen Zalalas, and drummer Brian Derkas.

If you're a fan of nostalgic folk-rock merged with alternative and psychedelic notes, you'll definitely enjoy the tender sounds of Smooth Retsina Glow's latest single, "Find Myself." This is the second single off the band's forthcoming album 'Metaphysical' and shares the passionate story of falling head over heels for someone who makes you a better person.

Hopping into the new single, "Find Myself," the venture begins with spacious and airy background pads that lift us into a serene and otherwordly atmosphere. As Wolf begins vocalizing his doubts about a love that seems too good to be true, an array of powerful and psychedelic synths begin pouring through our speakers to lift the song even higher.

Once the organic instrumentals kick in through Derkas's mid-tempo, soothing drums, and Zalalas's tender bass licks, Smooth Retsina Glow shifts the song into this vibrant and soul-soothing space that's truly impossible to ignore.

Wolf continues to pour his twangy and spirited electric guitar melodies through the song while backing up the passionate atmosphere with poetic lyrics that come straight from the heart. We adore this refreshing and chilling ballad; it's truly the perfect mix of love, psychedelia, and vulnerability.

Lift your heart into another dimension with Smooth Retsina Glow's latest single, "Find Myself," now available on all digital streaming platforms.

Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Smooth Retsina Glow. What a dreamy and tender listening experience you've provided with your new single, "Find Myself." What inspired you to write this vulnerable and deeply personal piece?

In a way, it's a stream of consciousness- as a writer, I believe that if I try to think about something too literally, the message will be more contrived than organic. While the person I could be speaking to could apply to a lady or higher spirituality- deity, God- whatever you perceive, I like the listener to feel how it could apply to them.

What sort of sound or genre approach were you aiming for with "Find Myself?" Did you have any musical influences or projects in mind during the creative process?

If I have to pinpoint an influence, it would be Tame Impala, The Beatles (Namely George Harrison), The Beach Boys for harmonic ambiguity, John Mayer, Blur, and impressionistic classical music like Debussy or Ravel that go unexpected places with their chord changes- but still are listenable.

What emotions or thoughts did you hope to evoke in the listener when hearing "Find Myself?" What effect do you want the song to have on your audience?

As hinted about previously, I wanted the listener to feel they could have a person, entity, or spirituality that could help them find themself. Who could that be? Whomever you want it to be. I currently am on the single life- and Im on the borderline between spiritual and religious, but I am always on the lookout for the next step to help find myself- so whether or not I have seen it, I think there are many a person out there who have found themselves either with their true loves in this earth and the higher stratosphere. It's whoever you want it to be about!

How does "Find Myself" tie into the theme or concept of your forthcoming album, 'Metaphysical'?

Metaphysical as an album will have a number of more esoterically, philosophically tainted songs, even if it doesn't seem like that from the first listen. Find Myself is another extension of the same concept of being Metaphysical.

What's next for you?

Currently, we are in the process of beginning to print the physical album- in June, and it will be released on Digital, CD, and possibly vinyl configurations.
