Hei$enberg Needs Himself A “Bad Chick”

Born Steven Scott in the small town of Jasper, Texas, music has always been a passion of talented artist Hei$enberg. Known as the privileged kid from the projects, he turned to a life of selling drugs in his teen years and ended up serving 40 months in prison. The experience changed his outlook on life and his overall mindset. Establishing his craft from the ground up, Hei$enberg threw all of his energy into making music. Influenced by legends like E-40, Snoop Dog, Slim Thug, TI, Tupac and the Geto Boys, Hei$enberg brings his own unique style to hip-hop.

"Bad Chick” is a quirky new song that elaborates on a woman who is all about her business. Hei$enberg adds a bit of humor included in the lyrics and powerful punchlines. “Bad Chick” is an anthem for women, creatively free and spacious but rhythmic enough to build a sense of togetherness in the room. Simplicity of production continues amidst unique instrumental layers and decidedly original beats. There’s always a strong beat to connect with! “Bad Chick” stands out for its louder confidence and that anthem-like rhythm and energy. Hei$enberg takes full advantage of the opportunity to perform and enjoy himself, and it shows well. As the track goes on, there are elements of fun with color and volume. Hei$enberg leaves nothing unsaid, and that makes the experience a heavy yet worthy one. We can’t wait to see what he does next!

Hey Hei$enberg, thanks for the interview! How has 2019 been going so far?

Your welcome, thanks for having me! 2019 has been going great. I am alive and healthy, thank God! I have been busy working on music and perfecting my craft. I feel like I have been all over the place, trying to balance music and spending time with my family but it has been a beautiful experience.

For those who are new to your work, how would you describe your sound and your approach to making music?

I think I have a very unique sound. My sound will vary, due to the fact that I have a few different styles. I would definitely say my sound has southern written all over it. When making music, I like to let the beat paint a picture for me in my head. I want the beat to take me somewhere, and when it does, I write based on where it took me.

We love your track “Bad Chick”! What do you hope people take away from this one?

I stepped out of my comfort zone with Bad Chick. I wanted this track to sound totally different than what is currently out on the market. My goal was to inspire and uplift women on this track. I hope this song makes people laugh and feel good about themselves. I definitely threw a few adlibs in to add some humor. In a nutshell, my focus was to bring something with a global sound that could be played in clubs and on the radio.

What is it about hip hop that draws such passion from you?

Hip-hop is somewhat like therapy to me, whether I am writing lyrics or listening to other artists. I love hip-hop and music in general. It's amazing how music can have such an impact on your mood. If I am down, I will listen to something that will put me in a better state of mind. Music is a drug within itself. I am a very passionate person. I do everything to the best of my ability. So it's only right to have passion about something you're in love with.

What’s next for you?

I will be releasing a video for Bad Chick in mid November. I don't have an exact date set at this time. I will also be releasing my next single Get It And Go in December, which will be followed up with an EP that will come the first quarter of 2020. The name of the EP is called Spoiled Project Kid.
