Once $hock Medus entered High School, he joined his close circle of friends to brainstorm a blueprint for an empire that consisted of music, fashionable clothing, and a brand. Since then he and his team have continued to expand themselves in every way possible.
$hock Medusa is coming through guns blazing with his new single titled “Conflict”. His lyrical arrangement were killer and the delivery of each bar was executed with precision. The multitude of dimensions in the lyricism of “Conflict” was cultivating enough to have us in for a surprise with each corner of the record. “Conflict” still managed to have a nice digestible production filled with a smoothly texturized beat. The beat was equipped with smooth-jazz elements thanks to the sound of a riveting horn instrument, while fusing with a lo-fi like hip-hop beat. This combination created an old-school flare to the aesthetic of “Conflict” and it was quite enticing. $hock Medusa is bringing back the raw lyricism while still weaving between this current generation’s idea of hype music. We’re excited to see what’s next for the young promising star.

What’s up $hock Medusa! Mind telling our readers a bit about your background and where you’re from?
$hock Medusa is a young artist on the rise who is on the brink of building an empire to entertain the world. He started making music at an early age with his biggest influence being “50 Cent”. $hock Medusa starting DJ’ing in middle school and evolved to engineering his own music and performing at school. Upon entering high school, he joined his close circle of friends to brainstorm a blueprint for an empire that consisted of music, fashionable clothing, and a brand. Since then he and his team have continued to expand themselves in every way possible.
What are some challenges you’ve faced so far in your career in what ways have you overcome these obstacles?
It wasn’t always easy for me to record my music. I didn’t have a stable recording studio plus I had to have people mix and master my music. Now I can mix, master and engineer everything myself plus I have a recording studio that I use consistently.
Let’s talk about your song “Conflict”. We loved the production of this beat. Did you produce this yourself?
The beat is 12 years old and I just randomly came across it. I mix, mastered and recorded it myself though.
What was the main theme surrounding “Conflict”?
Just to cut ties with any fake people and a reminder to remove all toxic energy from your circle.
What’s next for you $hock Medusa?
Continuing to release music. I will be releasing videos for these songs later this year as well. Besides that just traveling and performing, connecting with the world and all my people.
