Jhahnaa Turns the Intoxication of New Love Into Pop Euphoria on “Drunk”

Mumbai-based singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist Jhahnaa is stepping into a brighter chapter with “Drunk,” the third single from her forthcoming sophomore album, Love & Alchemy, arriving September 4.

Built around the intoxicating early stages of romance, “Drunk” turns falling for someone into its own altered state. Jhahnaa draws clever parallels between love and drinking: losing focus, stumbling through thoughts, sleeping poorly, and waking up already craving another encounter. The result is a cheerful pop track that feels playful on the surface while maintaining the thoughtful storytelling that has become central to her work.

There’s also a deeper literary thread beneath the song. Inspired in part by Jhahnaa’s love of Persian poetry and Rumi’s writing on becoming “drunk with love,” the track transforms an age-old idea into something youthful, melodic, and contemporary.
