KAIS New Single “Hot Air Balloon,” Is Soaring To The Top

KAIS is a talented singer-songwriter with a unique vision. His music is atmospheric and evocative, and "Hot Air Balloon" is a perfect example of his artistry. This is a song that will stay with you long after you've heard it, and we highly recommend checking out KAIS's music if you're looking for something different and special.

"Hot Air Balloon" is an indie-psych-soul-infused blues-rock song that explores the complexities of the human condition. The song is marked by its exploration of the metaphysical and its strive to find a balance between natural inclinations and the demands of late-stage capitalism.

The song is a tour de force of blues-rock that will get your feet tapping and head nodding along with the beat. The song is built on a foundation of finger-picked acoustic guitar and minimal percussion, with KAIS's reverb-drenched vocals floating above the mix.

The lyrics of "Hot Air Balloon" are introspective and thought-provoking, and the overall effect is haunting and beautiful.

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Kais. Congratulations on releasing "Hot Air Balloon." What inspired this deeply emotional piece?

The thought that my partner at the time may have been on the cusp of pregnancy, and felt simultaneously a momentary excitement around that possibility as well as an unshakeable fear of it being the wrong decision. Because although this was someone I really loved, I knew that people around me might have never accepted their values and beliefs (everyone is brought up with values and beliefs which could sometimes be highly opposing and very hard to intermix). I use the song as an iteration of all relationships moving forward, and I speak on behalf of most people in my writing, as everyone is, to various degrees, aware that there are always disapprovers out there who have a strong influence on your decisions, given collective society’s vested interests in how one thinks and acts.

How can new listeners better understand you through this single? What do you feel your experiences have brought to this song?

This song paints the analogy of a Hot Air Balloon as it relates to pregnancy, resembling the growth of a woman’s tummy to the inflation of a Hot Air Balloon. As pregnancy moves along and the process reveals itself, where a spirit permeates the boundless world, a Hot Air Balloon grows and rises into the ether (where our thoughts drift and amalgamate) in about the same way.

For your listeners who want to experience this song through your eyes, in what scene would you place them for the first time listening to Hot Air Balloon?

It’s up to each and every listener’s imagination. But my vantage point for this song is from outer space somewhere.

What's next for you?

I’ve released an EP for Hot Air Balloon this summer, and I’ll be revealing another more atmospheric, more melancholic EP later this year, sometimes closer to winter.
